Houston Texans Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was a full-go in practice all week, so we’re not expecting the ankle to be much of an issue. OC Bobby Slowik said this week that Pierce and RB Devin Singletary will go back to sharing the workload, although we’re expecting Singletary to lead the way coming off two strong outings. See where the Texans RBs sit in the Week 12 Rankings.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Jaguars today. Pierce is listed as questionable but was a full-go in practice all week. We're expecting Pierce to return as the 1B in Houston's committee backfield. See where Pierce and Devin Singletary sit in the Week 12 RB Rankings.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was a full-go in practice all week, so we’re fully expecting him to play. OC Bobby Slowik confirmed earlier this week that Pierce and RB Devin Singletary will go back to sharing the workload. Singletary deserves to lead the backfield after his strong play the past two weeks, but he’s just a RB3 in fantasy lineups assuming Pierce plays on Sunday.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) was a full-go in Wednesday's practice. He's on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars. It's tough to imagine Pierce being reinstalled as lead back considering how awesome RB Devin Singletary has been the past two weeks. But Pierce will certainly cut into Singletary's workload. See where both guys sit in the Week 12 RB Rankings.

Texans WR Tank Dell (8-149-1) had the big game in the Week 11 win over the Cardinals. WR Nico Collins was fine, catching seven balls for 65 scoreless yards. But he actually out-targeted Dell 11 to 10. Collins' 11 targets led the team and were a big 30% of QB C.J. Stroud's total. More big games are coming for Collins with a big role in a red-hot passing game. Consider making a trade offer for him this week. His remaining schedule includes two tough draws vs. the Jets and Browns but three positive matchups against the Jaguars and Titans twice.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud tossed three INTs vs. the Cardinals on Sunday. The first and third were bad decisions and misthrown balls; the second probably should have been caught by WR Robert Woods. But Stroud still led the Texans to a win. And he still delivered lots of fantasy points, racking up 336 yards with TDs to TE Dalton Schultz and WR Tank Dell. Stroud completed a sterling 73% of his passes and averaged 9.1 yards per attempt. He's on a ridiculously productive run, averaging 387 yards and 2.7 TDs over his last three games. It's worth noting that all three of those games have come against defenses ranked in the bottom half of the league in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs. Stroud gets two more slightly positive matchups the next two weeks vs. the Jaguars and Broncos that will keep him safely inside QB1 territory. The rookie will face tough tests in Week 14 vs. the Jets and Week 16 vs. the Browns. It'd be wise to at least line up potential alternatives for those two weeks -- although Stroud is playing so well that he won't be a must-bench in those matchups.

Texans Edge Will Anderson Jr. (knee) is active for today's game against the Cardinals. Use him as planned for IDP lineups.

Texans WR Nico Collins (calf) is not listed on the final Week 11 injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, and should play a full-time role this weekend vs. the Cardinals’ 19th-ranked WR defense.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is out for this weekend’s game vs. the Cardinals. He returned to a limited practice on Friday, potentially setting him up for a Week 12 return. RB Devin Singletary should again be in a workhorse role on Sunday after racking up 30 carries and two targets on an 81% snap rate last week. He’s a rock-solid RB2 vs. Arizona’s 29th-ranked RB defense.

Texans WR Nico Collins (calf) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He said afterward that he "felt great" and will play vs. the Cardinals this weekend. Collins ranks 15th among WRs in PPR points per game and will belong back in fantasy lineups if he's active on Sunday.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. At this point, he seems unlikely to return for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals. That'd mean another big workload for RB Devin Singletary, who carried a whopping 30 times last week.

The Texans have activated CB Derek Stingley Jr. from IR. He has been out since Week 2 with a hamstring injury but appears ready to play today against the Bengals. It's tough to know how close to full playing time he'll get in his first game back from such a long layoff. He also hasn't had much chance to show us if he'll be an impactful IDP option. The 2022 first-round pick has appeared in just 11 NFL games to date. His return can only help the Houston defense. But we'll be watching to see whether he's worth individual fantasy attention.

Texans K Ka’imi Fairbairn (quad) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. K Matt Ammendola will take over for Houston but isn’t a recommended fantasy play.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. He remained sidelined in practice all week. Devin Singletary gets another game as Houston’s lead back this weekend. He played 75% of the offensive snaps last week but turned 15 touches into just 28 scoreless yards.

Texans WR Nico Collins (calf) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. Per insider Aaron Wilson, Collins hurt his calf during last week’s win over the Bucs and felt worse than expected this week. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 11’s game vs. the Cardinals.

Texans WR Nico Collins (calf) missed his second straight practice on Thursday. He's seemingly in real danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. Check back tomorrow to see how Collins is listed on the final injury report.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) remained sidelined on Thursday. It's looking like he'll miss this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. RB Devin Singletary played 75% of Houston's offensive snaps with Pierce out last week but totaled just 28 yards on 15 touches. He'll be a passable but low-upside Week 10 fantasy play if Pierce is out again.

Texans WR Nico Collins (calf) did not practice on Wednesday. No word yet on the severity of the injury or whether Collins is in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. His absence would be a boost for WRs Tank Dell and Noah Brown and TE Dalton Schultz. Check back tomorrow for another update on Collins.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. That's not a good start for his chances of returning for this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. With Pierce out last week, RB Devin Singletary played 75% of the offensive snaps but totaled just 28 yards on 15 touches.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon logged 14 carries for 37 rushing yards and a TD in Week 9 vs. the Bills. The veteran also added 5 catches for 31 yards as a pass-catcher in the contest. He’s now seen no fewer than 15 touch opportunities in all eight games played in 2023. Mixon’s volume-laden role is about as safe as it gets barring injury. Next week’s showdown against the Texans (12th-best matchup for RBs in adjusted fantasy points allowed) should present Mixon with solid RB2 fantasy value.
