Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield (ribs, ankle) is expected to play vs. the Eagles on Monday night, according to The Athletic's Jeff Howe. Mayfield only got in limited practices on Friday and Saturday and is listed as questionable, so he'll clearly be at less than 100% for this win-or-go-home game. The matchup against Philadelphia's 31st-ranked QB defense still gives Mayfield some DFS tournament appeal.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield (ankle, ribs) is listed as questionable for Monday night's playoff game vs. the Eagles. He got in limited practices on Friday and Saturday. We'd be surprised if Mayfield did not play on Monday, but we'll continue to keep you updated on his status. QB Kyle Trask is Mayfield's backup.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (finger) is not listed on the final injury report for Monday night's Wild Card game vs. the Bucs. He put in full practices on Friday and Saturday, which would seemingly suggest that his right finger injury will not be a major problem. We'll look for further updates on his status ahead of kickoff.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (ankle) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report for Monday night's game vs. the Bucs. It looks like he'll be at least close to 100% for that one and has a chance to see a big target share with WR A.J. Brown out.

Browns RB Pierre Strong (back) is inactive for today's Wild Card game vs. the Texans. That leaves a few extra touches to go around for RBs Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt.

Texans WRs Robert Woods (hip) and Noah Brown (back) are active for today's game vs. the Browns. Neither guy figures to be operating at 100%, so they're not attractive DFS or playoff contest plays.

The Steelers-Bills game originally scheduled for 1 pm ET on Sunday has been moved to 4:30 pm ET on Monday. Buffalo is expecting heavy snow and wind gusts up to 60 mph on Sunday. The forecast for Monday calls for light snow, sustained winds around 15 mph, and gusts up to 30 mph. That's still tough weather for the passing and kicking games -- but significantly better than it would have been on Sunday. We're adjusting our projections for this game.

The Eagles will be ruling WR A.J. Brown (knee) out for Monday night’s game against the Buccaneers. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Brown "wants to fully heal as much as he can and give it a go next week." Philly would obviously need to win at Tampa to make that second game happen. Brown’s absence leaves targets available for WR DeVonta Smith and TE Dallas Goedert. WR Julio Jones gains intrigue as a DFS play. QB Jalen Hurts loses upside without his top wideout (and is dealing with his own finger injury). Brown makes for a weak play across playoff fantasy contests.

Update: Brown missed practice again on Saturday and has officially been ruled out.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield (ankle, ribs) returned to a limited practice on Friday. He'll start Monday night's Wild Card game vs. the Eagles, although he won't be operating at 100%.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (finger) was listed as a full participant in Friday's practice. He's on track to play vs. the Bucs on Monday. We'll look for more info on how big a factor that injured right finger will be.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown (knee) remained sidelined on Friday. We still have no details on his injury, but he's seemingly in real danger of missing Monday night's Wild Card game vs. the Bucs. We'll see if Brown practices on Saturday and how he's listed on the final injury report.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee (shoulder) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Lions. HC Sean McVay said Friday that he expects Higbee to play. He has some cheap DFS appeal against Detroit's 24th-ranked TE defense.

Lions TE Sam LaPorta (knee) was listed as a full participant in Friday's practice and is officially questionable for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Rams. He's obviously in much better shape than it seemed he'd be early in the week, although we're still skeptical that LaPorta will play on Sunday. If he does, it'll be at far less than 100%. We'll continue to keep you updated on his status. TE James Mitchell (hand) has been ruled out, so Detroit will be down to TE Brock Wright if LaPorta does not play.

Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Cowboys. We're tentatively expecting Watson to suit up but play limited snaps. We'll look for further updates on his status. WR Romeo Doubs (chest) is off the final injury report and should be ready for his normal role on Sunday.

Packers RB A.J. Dillon (thumb, neck) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Cowboys. His absence will again leave RB Aaron Jones in a workhorse role. Jones has racked up 63 carries and nine targets over the last three games -- although those were all Green Bay wins. The Packers are currently 7-point underdogs in Dallas.

Bills WR Gabriel Davis (knee) is out for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Steelers. He didn't practice all week and could certainly miss more time if Buffalo advances to the Divisional Round. Trent Sherfield replaced Davis as a primary outside WR in Week 18.

The Ravens have designated TE Mark Andrews to return from IR. That opens a three-week window for him to practice before the team must decide whether to return him to the active roster. This move doesn't necessarily mean Andrews will be ready for Baltimore's playoff opener next weekend -- or at all during the playoffs. But it's obviously a positive step in that direction. Keep in mind that Andrews remains a high-risk option for full-playoff fantasy football contests. But we have moved the TE up our playoff rankings. We'll keep tracking his progress.

The Patriots are set to hire Jerod Mayo as their new HC, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Mayo has been a lifelong Patriot. He was drafted by the team in 2008, played all eight seasons of his career in New England, and then spent the last five years as their inside LBs coach. The team had reportedly been planning for Mayo to succeed Bill Belichick for a while. We'll see what changes Mayo makes to the rest of the coaching staff, particularly whether he keeps OC Bill O'Brien.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield (ankle, ribs) did not practice on Thursday. He played through the rib issue last week; the ankle is new. Mayfield is banged up but should be out there for Monday night's Wild Card game vs. the Eagles. We'll keep an eye on his status over the next few days.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown (knee) did not practice on Thursday. We still surprisingly have no details on his knee injury. We'll see if Brown gets back on the field on Friday, but he's certainly not a lock to play vs. the Bucs on Monday night.
