Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Packers WR Jayden Reed (chest) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Chiefs. He got in just a limited practice on Friday and was listed as questionable. But Reed played through this chest injury on Thanksgiving, racking up 50 total yards and a score. The bigger concern for Reed might be that WR Dontayvion Wicks (knee) is also active. He’s played between 33% and 44% of Green Bay’s offensive snaps in his last four games and could eat into Reed’s playing time a bit, as well as WR Christian Watson and WR Romeo Doubs’ playing time.
Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks (concussion, knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Lions. Green Bay’s No. 4 WR has totaled 17 targets (11.6% share) over the last four games. His absence is a slight boost for WRs Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Jayden Reed.
Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks is in the concussion protocol. He's also dealing with a knee injury and was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report. The concussion makes Wicks a long shot to be cleared for Thursday's game vs. the Lions. The rookie has played about one-third of Green Bay's offensive snaps over the past four weeks, totaling 17 targets (11.6% share). His absence is a slight boost for WRs Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Jayden Reed.
Packers WR Jayden Reed delivered a big fantasy line in an unconventional way Sunday against the Chargers. He scored from 32 yards out on a carry, one of three he logged before the middle of the second quarter. Reed totaled 46 rushing yards to lead the team in a game that saw RB Aaron Jones leave early with a knee injury. All three of Reed's rushes came before Jones left the game, which could bode well for that aspect staying in his game. He had just two rushes for the season entering Sunday's game. The rookie also tied for the team lead with 6 targets and notched 4 receptions for another 46 yards. This isn't the kind of stat line we can count on Reed repeating, but his usage was encouraging. Reed's 34 routes (among 44 dropbacks) finished basically tied with Christian Watson (36) and Romeo Doubs (33). Watson got 4 targets, tallying 2 receptions for 21 yards and a TD. Doubs posted a 5-53-1 line on 6 targets. It was an optimal matchup for the Green Bay passing offense, especially after losing its lead back. Don't expect as much Green Bay passing success the rest of the way. A Week 12 matchup at Detroit, however, could once again boost passing upside.
Packers WR Romeo Doubs caught the team's lone TD in Sunday's loss to the Vikings, one of just 4 receptions for 18 yards. That marked a particularly inefficient performance for a team-high 9 targets. That makes 5 TD receptions on the season -- at an 18.5% TD rate -- and still just two games with more than 30 receiving yards. You should sell Doubs any time you encounter an opportunity.
WR Romeo Doubs was the only thing working for the Packers in Thursday night's loss to the Lions. He easily led the team in targets (13), catches (9), and receiving yards (95). It's certainly worth noting that WR Christian Watson was limited to just 46% of the snaps in his return from a hamstring injury. But Doubs continues to flash a strong rapport with QB Jordan Love. The duo has now connected on 20 of 33 passes through four weeks, including 14 times over the last two. We're still expecting Watson to re-emerge as Green Bay's No. 1 WR, but it'll be a situation to monitor closely. Doubs gets a plus Week 5 matchup vs. the Raiders before a Week 6 bye.
Packers TE Luke Musgrave caught a team-high six passes for 49 yards in Sunday's win over the Saints. His 8 targets constituted a solid 18.2% share of QB Jordan Love's 44 pass attempts. Musgrave also accounted for 18.9% of the team's receiving yards. WR Romeo Doubs led the team with 12 targets and 73 yards. WR Jayden Reed ranked third with 7 targets and was the only other Packer to reach 50 yards. (He tallied 63.) Green Bay pass catchers get favorable matchups with Detroit and Las Vegas the next two games, ahead of a Week 6 bye.
Packers QB Jordan Love completed just 50% of his passes in Sunday's comeback win over the Saints. But he wound up with a productive fantasy line thanks to 39 yards and a TD rushing. Love threw for 259 yards, with 1 TD and 1 INT. He found WR Romeo Doubs (5-73 receiving on 12 targets) for the late score that took the lead. Love has completed less than 57% of his passes in every game so far but been fortunate with TDs. There's upside to matchups with the Lions and Raiders the next two weeks -- ahead of a Week 6 bye -- but also risk if the TDs don't favor him.
Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Saints. He got in two limited practices this week, but the team continues to play it safe with Watson. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 4. Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed will again serve as Green Bay’s top two WRs today.
Packers rookie WR Jayden Reed saw a team-leading 8 targets in Week 2, hauling in 4 catches for 37 yards and a pair of TDs vs. the Falcons. Last week’s star, Romeo Doubs, only corralled 2 of his 3 targets for 30 yards in this contest. It’s tough to take a lot away from these first couple of games since WR Christian Watson has yet to make his season debut due to a hamstring injury. Even so, it appears as though the Packers’ passing game is fairly potent with QB Jordan Love under center. There’s reason to be excited about this group in Week 3 vs. the Saints. Watch out for practice reports in the coming days to see if Love will have his full arsenal of weapons available to him.
Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Falcons. He returned to a limited practice on Friday, so a Week 3 return looks possible. Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed will be Green Bay’s top two WRs today.
Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) is not expected to play vs. the Falcons today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Watson returned to a limited practice on Friday, seemingly setting him up for a Week 3 return. Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed will operate as Green Bay's top two WRs today.
Packers WR Romeo Doubs hauled in a pair of receiving TDs in Week 1 vs. the Bears. The second-year wideout only mustered 4 catches on 5 targets for 26 receiving yards in the victory, though fantasy managers aren’t too picky about that when a player finds the end zone twice. We’ll see how Doubs fares once teammate Christian Watson (hamstring) returns to the lineup, though preseason reports early in the summer suggested that Love and Doubs built a solid rapport in OTAs. Will it continue in Week 2 vs. the Falcons? We would be remiss to exclude the efforts of TE Luke Musgrave, a player who caught 3 of 4 targets for 50 yards in his NFL debut. Congrats to the rookie.
Packers WR Romeo Doubs (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Bears. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported this morning that Doubs is expected to be limited today. He’s not a recommended fantasy starter.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter report that Packers WR Romeo Doubs (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Bears today. But he'll be limited. Rapoport tweets that Doubs "likely won't have a full complement of snaps." He's not a recommended Week 1 fantasy starter. Expect a run-heavy attack from the Packers, with RB Aaron Jones, WR Jayden Reed, and TE Luke Musgrave the best bets for targets.
Packers WR Romeo Doubs (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bears. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Even if Doubs ends up active on Sunday, he’ll be at risk of reduced snaps and reinjury. We’d try not to use him in Week 1 fantasy lineups. With WR Christian Watson (hamstring) out, WR Jayden Reed and TE Luke Musgrave should see increased target shares. But we’re expecting a run-heavy attack from Green Bay, featuring RBs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon.
