NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Packers QB Jordan Love's "initial timetable" for return is 3-6 weeks. "And there's some early optimism he could return sooner than later, pending a second opinion," Pelissero adds. Green Bay's bye isn't until Week 10, so that shouldn't factor into Love's return date. It sounds like we should plan on him missing at least the next three games vs. Indianapolis, at Tennessee, and vs. Minnesota. It's worth noting that the Packers medical staff has historically been cautious in bringing players back from injury.
Love is worth hanging on to in most fantasy leagues as a potential top-12 QB when he returns.
The Packers' offense is in trouble in the meantime. Malik Willis was the No. 2 QB in the opener. QB Sean Clifford is on the practice squad. Neither is an NFL-caliber QB.
The Packers' pass volume and efficiency will take massive hits for as long as Love is out. Considering the WRs and TEs were already going to be inconsistent from week to week with the snap rotations the team deploys, they all figure to land outside starting territory in our weekly rankings until Love is back.
RB Josh Jacobs is a loser here, too. He'll likely see a bigger piece of the offensive pie sans Love, but that pie will be much smaller.
Jeremiah Smith may be a lock to be one of the best WR prospects in decades as the best current devy prospect. See who else are future dynasty fantasy stars.
