Greg Dortch Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cardinals WR Michael Wilson (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Texans. WR Zach Pascal (hamstring) is also out, leaving WRs Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch, and Andre Baccellia behind No. 1 Marquise Brown. Moore is a more intriguing WR4 or flex play with Wilson out. See where all the Cardinals sit in the Week 11 WR Rankings.

Cardinals WR Michael Wilson (shoulder) is not expected to play vs. the Texans today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The rookie aggravated his shoulder injury in Friday's practice. Arizona will also be without WR Zach Pascal (hamstring) today, leaving Greg Dortch as the likely No. 3 WR. That arrangement figures to push WR Rondale Moore to the outside when the Cardinals go with three WRs. Moore, WR Marquise Brown, and TE Trey McBride have a chance to pick up an extra target or two with Wilson out.

The Cardinals "intend on using a lot of two-TE sets this season," according to Jess Root of Cards Wire. That would mean significant time together on the field for second-year TE Trey McBride and TE Zach Ertz, once the vet's ready following his ACL recovery. But it would also potentially challenge the playing time for Arizona WRs not named Marquise Brown. The Cardinals already tied for ninth in the league in most "12 personnel" snaps (two TEs) last season. So we might not actually see an escalation this year. But we'll be watching the camp and preseason tendencies for the fantasy outlooks on WRs Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch and Michael Wilson. McBride and Ertz are both going late enough in best ball drafts to carry some upside, though we're not specifically targeting either player. See where all these Cardinals land in our PPR rankings.

The Cardinals announced that they have released WR DeAndre Hopkins. Trade rumors have swirled around the veteran all offseason. This move clearly indicates that the team couldn't find a suitable partner. That almost certainly comes down to the money involved, as Hopkins carried a $30.75 million cap hit for 2023. By waiting for the release, other teams can now negotiate their own deal with Hopkins rather than pay his huge existing contract. Arizona moves on with Marquise Brown as the lead WR. He was scoring in WR1 range last season before fracturing a foot and getting Hopkins back from suspension. Rondale Moore figures to operate as the No. 2 WR. The big question will be how much time he spends in the slot vs. outside. Candidates for the 3rd WR spot include veteran Greg Dortch and third-round rookie Michael Wilson. Dortch is clearly a slot guy, having spent 82.5% of his career pass snaps there. Wilson stands 6'2, 213 pounds and ran 76% of his college routes outside. Of course, Arizona also might play more 2-TE sets under new coaches, if Zach Ertz makes it back from his ACL tear in time to join second-year TE Trey McBride. For now, move Brown and Moore up your draft board, and consider taking late best ball shots on Dortch and Wilson. We'll continue watching the recovery of QB Kyler Murray (ACL tear). See where everyone sits in our updated fantasy football WR rankings.

WR Greg Dortch has signed his one-year tender from the Cardinals. It keeps the four-year veteran from reaching free agency, but he would have been an exclusive-rights free agent. So Arizona would have controlled his options. Dortch broke through for 52 catches and 467 yards last year, ranking fourth on the team in targets and third in receptions. He disappeared from the lineup when DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown, and Rondale Moore were all healthy, though. Dortch will need a Hopkins trade to create him 2023 opportunity

The Cardinals have already ruled WR DeAndre Hopkins (knee) out for this week. Without Hopkins last Sunday, TE Trey McBride and WR Greg Dortch tied for the lead with 25% target share apiece. WR Marquise Brown checked in 1 target behind them. Week 18, however, will find a much tougher defense in San Francisco. Check our Week 18 fantasy football rankings to see where everyone has landed.

Cardinals WR Marquise Brown caught 6 passes for 61 yards in Sunday's loss at Atlanta. His 9 targets trailed TE Trey McBride and WR Greg Dortch (10 apiece), with David Blough serving as the 4th different starting QB this season. Brown gets a San Francisco matchup in Week 18 that has dominated opponent rushing. That could make Brown a decent WR3 for PPR, especially if WR DeAndre Hopkins (knee) remains out. We'll see whether QB Colt McCoy makes it back from the concussion that cost him the past 2 games.

The Cardinals have downgraded WR DeAndre Hopkins (knee) to out for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. That boosts the target outlooks for WRs Marquise Brown and Greg Dortch, though all Cardinals will be catching passes from QB David Blough. There’s PPR upside to the 2 wideouts, but this isn’t an offense to get overly excited about

Cardinals WR Greg Dortch led the team in targets (11), receptions (10) and receiving yards (98) in Sunday night's OT loss to the Buccaneers. He and RB James Conner were the only 2 Arizona players to exceed 3 catches with QB Trace McSorley behind center. We'll see whether QB Colt McCoy is back for a Week 17 meeting with the Falcons.

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore (groin) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Patriots. WR Greg Dortch (thumb) isn't listed on the final injury report after a full week of practice, putting him in line to operate as Arizona's primary slot receiver this week. Dortch has averaged 8.3 targets in 4 games with a 70+% snap rate this season -- although we wouldn't bet on quite that much volume this week with WRs DeAndre Hopkins and Marquise Brown both playing.

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore (groin) did not practice on Thursday. WR Greg Dortch (hand) was a full participant, so he should be ready for Monday night's game vs. the Patriots. If Moore misses that one, Dortch will be in the PPR WR3 discussion.

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury expressed "optimism" about WR Greg Dortch's chances of returning from his thumb injury for Monday night's game vs. the Patriots, according to insider Darren Urban. Kingsbury reportedly didn't sound optimistic about WR Rondale Moore's status for that one. If Moore is out and Dortch in, Dortch will be a viable WR3 or flex play in PPR leagues.

Cardinals WR Greg Dortch (thumb) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Chargers. With WR Rondale Moore (groin) also out, Arizona is down to WRs DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown, A.J. Green, Robbie Anderson and Andre Baccellia.

Cardinals WR Greg Dortch (thumb) is not expected to play Sunday against the Chargers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That will leave Arizona without its top 2 slot WRs. That leaves target opportunity for TE Trey McBride.

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore (groin) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Chargers. WR Greg Dortch (thumb) is listed as questionable. He didn't practice all week but will be a game-time decision, according to HC Kliff Kingsbury. Dortch will have some WR3 appeal in PPR leagues as Arizona's slot receiver if he suits up.

Cardinals WRs Rondale Moore (groin) and Greg Dortch (thumb) remained sidelined on Thursday. Both guys are looking unlikely to play vs. the Chargers this weekend, but check back tomorrow for another update.

Cardinals WRs Rondale Moore (groin) and Greg Dortch (thumb) did not practice on Wednesday. Both of Arizona's slot receivers are in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Chargers. We'll see if they're able to practice tomorrow.

Cardinals WR Greg Dortch is getting an MRI on a thumb he injured in Monday night's loss to the 49ers, HC Kliff Kingsbury said. We'll update Dortch's status when we know more. WR Rondale Moore also got hurt in the Week 11 loss.

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore is questionable to return to Monday night's game vs. the 49ers due to a groin injury. He lasted just 2 snaps before going down, carrying once for a loss of 6 yards. WR Greg Dortch has replaced Moore.

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Panthers today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. It'll be his season debut after hurting that hamstring in practice just prior to Week 1. WR Greg Dortch has been fine in Moore's place over the past 3 weeks, but we're assuming that Moore will take back over as Arizona's primary slot receiver. With some uncertainty about the situation, though, we'd try to avoid both guys in Week 4 fantasy lineups.
