Gerald Everett Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Chargers TE Gerald Everett (groin) isn't listed on the final injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so it doesn't seem like the groin will be an issue vs. the Chiefs on Sunday night. Everett's volume projection will take a hit, though, if the Chargers get WRs Mike Williams and Keenan Allen back.

Chargers WR Mike Williams (ankle), WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) and TE Gerald Everett (groin) were all limited on Thursday for the 2nd straight practice. We'll see what they're able to do tomorrow and then how they're listed on the final injury report for Sunday night's game vs. the Chiefs.

Chargers TE Gerald Everett (groin) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. It's encouraging news after he was knocked out early in Sunday night's loss to the 49ers -- and seemingly gives Everett a solid chance to play vs. the Chiefs this Sunday night. We'll update his status again tomorrow.

Chargers HC Brandon Staley labeled TE Gerald Everett "day to day" with the groin injury he suffered in the loss to the 49ers. Staley added that Everett is expected to practice at some point this week, which seemingly gives him a chance to be available for Sunday night's game vs. the Chiefs. We'll track Everett's status throughout the week.

Chargers TE Gerald Everett is questionable to return to Sunday night's game vs. the 49ers with a groin injury. With TE Donald Parham on IR, Los Angeles is down to TE Tre McKitty.

Chargers TE Gerald Everett tallied 5 catches for 36 yards in a Week 9 win over Atlanta. He dropped 1 pass that would have gone for at least 20 yards. His 8 targets were right in line with expectation — but the yardage certainly underwhelmed. On 43 Justin Herbert pass attempts, Everett’s 8 targets actually tied for 3rd on the team with fill-in WR Michael Bandy. The TE should remain busy this week at San Francisco with Mike Williams (and likely Keenan Allen) sidelined.

Chargers TE Donald Parham has been placed on IR with his hamstring injury. He'll miss at least the next 4 games and can be dropped from all redraft rosters. Parham's absence is a slight boost for TE Gerald Everett.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Falcons. He suffered a setback with that hamstring while training over the bye week and didn't practice at all this week. Allen said he's not returning until he's back to 100%, so consider him iffy for Week 10. WR Mike Williams (ankle) is also out for Sunday's game, while WR DeAndre Carter was added to the injury report on Friday and is listed as questionable with an illness. We'll see if he's able to suit up come Sunday. Josh Palmer should lead Chargers WRs in targets against Atlanta's 31st-ranked WR defense. Los Angeles' other healthy WRs are Michael Bandy and Jason Moore. WRs Joe Reed, John Hightower and Keelan Doss are on the practice squad. RB Austin Ekeler and TE Gerald Everett also project for strong volume this weekend.

Chargers TE Donald Parham did not practice on Thursday due to a hamstring injury. He just cleared the concussion protocol but now looks iffy for this weekend's game vs. Atlanta. Parham's absence would be a slight boost to TE Gerald Everett's fantasy stock.

Chargers TE Donald Parham has cleared the concussion protocol and is on track to play vs. the Falcons this weekend. He's not a fantasy option but does add some downside to TE Gerald Everett. When we last saw Parham in Week 6, he ran a route on just 18% of pass plays and drew 3 targets (5% share).

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler delivered a big receiving line in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. He caught all 12 of his targets for 96 yards and 1 of QB Justin Herbert's 2 TD passes. Ekeler added a 9-31-1 rushing line, handling 75% off the team's RB carries for the game. WR Mike Williams posted a strong 7-86-1 receiving line on 9 targets before hurting his right ankle. TE Gerald Everett added 5-63 receiving on a matching 9 looks.

Chargers TE Donald Parham (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. His absence makes TE Gerald Everett a safer fantasy play.

Chargers TE Donald Parham is in the concussion protocol, HC Brandon Staley said Tuesday. Parham will have trouble getting cleared in time for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. He saw 3 targets on an 18% route rate in the win over the Broncos, so his absence is a slight boost for TE Gerald Everett.

Chargers TE Donald Parham caught all 3 of his targets for 53 yards in Week 6. This followed a 1-target, 0-catch debut in Week 5. The 6'8 skyscraper carries some appeal in ultra-deep TD-only leagues, but note that he ran only 11 routes against Denver. That ranked behind both Gerald Everett (37) and Tre’ McKitty (17).

Chargers TE Gerald Everett (hamstring) isn’t listed on the final Week 5 injury report. He was added and limited on Thursday but returned to a full practice on Friday. Everett looks safe to use in Week 5 fantasy lineups.

Chargers TE Gerald Everett was added to Thursday's injury report with a hamstring and limited in practice. That has his availability for this weekend's game vs. the Browns in question. Check back tomorrow for another update.

Chargers WR Mike Williams caught 7 balls for 120 yards amid 11 targets in Sunday's win over the Texans. He drew 28.2% target share, with WR Keenan Allen still out. RB Austin Ekeler checked in 2nd with 7 targets. TE Gerald Everett was the only other Charger to see more than 3 looks. He finished with a 5-61-1 line on 6 targets.

Chargers WR Mike Williams caught a 15-yard TD in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's loss to the Jaguars. And that marked his only reception among 6 targets. With WR Keenan Allen out (hamstring), Williams tied for just 3rd in looks behind WR Joshua Palmer (9) and RB Austin Ekeler (8). TE Gerald Everett joined him at 6. QB Justin Herbert -- playing through a rib injury -- completed just 55.6% of his passes. Palmer caught 6 balls and led the team with 99 receiving yards. Everett managed just 2 receptions for 25 yards.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Chargers WR Keenan Allen's hamstring injury is not expected to be a "long-term" deal. But Pelissero confirms that Allen is "unlikely" to be ready for Thursday night's showdown with the Chiefs. That's obviously a big loss for the Chargers but frees up targets for Austin Ekeler, Mike Williams, Josh Palmer and Gerald Everett. See where all those guys sit in the Week 2 Rankings.

The Chargers signed TE Gerald Everett to a reported 2-year, $12 million deal. That contract makes him the favorite for starting duties in a top-notch passing game. Everett set career highs across the board in Seattle last season with 48 catches, 478 yards and 4 TDs in 15 games, finishing 20th among TEs in PPR points per game. That was 1 spot ahead of Jared Cook, who was the Chargers' lead TE last year. Everett might not reach TE1 territory in 2022 but should bring exciting weekly upside.
