Gerald Everett Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Seahawks beat writer Adam Jude of the Seattle Times writes that the team’s TE situation might be in for a “significant overhaul.” The top 2 targets, Gerald Everett and Will Dissly, are slated for unrestricted free agency. Everett just finished a middling 20th in PPR points per game among TEs. And Jude wonders if Seattle — thin at several spots — could better spend the money elsewhere. Currently, the Seahawks only have 2 top-75 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Seahawks have placed TE Will Dissly on the COVID list. He's not a player whose potential return we need to sweat for our fantasy rosters. But Dissly's absence could only help the fantasy outlook for TE Gerald Everett. Dissly played 46% of the snaps or more in each of the past 3 games and totaled 6 targets over that span.

This week's Seahawks-Rams game has been moved from Sunday to Tuesday, according to multiple reports, as the Rams deal with a rash of COVID positives. This game won't be on the DFS main slate but will still count for Week 15 in season-long leagues. We'll see if RB Darrell Henderson, WR Odell Beckham and WR Tyler Lockett are able to clear COVID protocols in time for the game.

Update: This game will kick off at 7 pm ET on Tuesday.

Seahawks TE Gerald Everett (groin) is not listed on the final injury report. He didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday but was a full-go on Friday. We’re assuming he’ll be ready for his usual role vs. the Cardinals this weekend.

Seahawks TE Gerald Everett (groin) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He's seemingly in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals, but we'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Seahawks TE Gerald Everett (groin) did not practice on Wednesday. He appeared to make it out of last week's game healthy, but we'll need to keep an eye on him over the next couple of days.

Seahawks TE Gerald Everett has been activated from the COVID list. Unfortunately, he'll be returning to a Geno-Smith quarterbacked offense for at least the next few weeks. Everett is unlikely to be a reliable fantasy option at least until QB Russell Wilson returns.

Seahawks TE Gerald Everett was not activated from the COVID list and is out for tonight's game vs. the Rams. Will Dissly will again operate as Seattle's lead TE. He ran a route on 63% of pass plays last week, catching both of his targets for 5 yards.

Seahawks TE Gerald Everett (COVID) "has a chance" to play vs. the Rams on Thursday night, HC Pete Carroll said Wednesday. Everett needs 1 more negative test before he's cleared. We'll let you know if he's active tomorrow night, but Everett would be just a TE2 in fantasy lineups.

Seahawks TE Gerald Everett (COVID) is out for today’s game vs. the 49ers. Will Dissly will operate as Seattle’s lead TE but would be a desperation fantasy play.

Seahawks TE Gerald Everett remains on the COVID list as of Friday afternoon. Check Shark Bites to see if he’s cleared in time for Sunday’s game vs. the 49ers, but Everett shouldn’t be in your fantasy plans right now.

Seahawks TE Gerald Everett has been placed on the COVID list. We don't know if he's vaccinated, which would give him a shot to be cleared for Sunday's game vs. the 49ers. If Everett is out, Will Dissly will step in as Seattle's lead TE.

The Seattle Times reports that the Seahawks plan to utilize TEs more in the new offense. Not surprisingly, HC Pete Carroll sounds excited about what the team has there. "The tight end spot is really competitive because we don't know who's going to take the bulk of the plays," Carroll says. "We really like the position a lot. We're really fired up about Gerald Everett. We really think he can do a ton, but we're not sure how to mix those guys yet. We've got to find that out as we go through. Colby Parkinson looks exciting too for playing time, and we know Will's in there. So it's a really nice, competitive spot." We're betting on Everett as the lead receiver here for his familiarity with new OC Shane Waldron -- from their time with the Rams -- and receiving ability. The situation will be worth watching through summer, though.

Rams TE Gerald Everett (back) is questionable for this weekend’s game against the Eagles. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, so we’re expecting him to play. Everett figures to need a Tyler Higbee injury to be a fantasy option this season.

Rams TE Gerald Everett (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. That puts him on track to return for Saturday night's game against the 49ers. Tyler Higbee leads all TEs in targets, catches and yards over the last 3 weeks -- but note that Everett out-targeted Higbee 59 to 33 over the Rams' first 11 games. We'd bet on Higbee sticking as the lead TE in Week 16, but Everett's return certainly adds risk to his outlook.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee (lung) practiced all week and is set to return for Sunday’s game against the Bucs. That knocks TE Gerald Everett out of the spot-start discussion. Higbee actually out-targeted Everett 8 to 5 over the season’s first 2 games.
