DeVonta Smith Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. That should put him on track to play vs. the Cowboys this weekend, but we'll see what he does on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. It was just a walkthrough for Philly, and we don't have any other details on Smith's status right now. He played 96% of snaps in the Week 9 win over the Jaguars. We're still tentatively expecting Smith to play vs. the Cowboys this weekend, but we'll update his status again tomorrow.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith drew a just-OK 6 targets in Sunday's win over the Jaguars, but that led the team and marked a 25% share of Jalen Hurts' total pass attempts for the game. Smith has seen at least 23.5% target share in five of his seven games this season and sits at 25.4% for the year.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith led the team in targets (7), receptions (6), and receiving yards (85) in Sunday's 20-point victory at Cincinnati. The big strike came late in the third quarter, when Smith snagged a 45-yard pass in the end zone. WR A.J. Brown trailed just behind Smith with 5 receptions for 84 yards on 6 targets. TE Grant Calcaterra was the only other Eagle to catch more than one pass (3-58 on 3 targets).

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith caught just one pass for a loss of 2 yards in Sunday's lopsided victory over the Giants. His biggest problem was low team passing volume. QB Jalen Hurts threw just 14 passes for the game. WR A.J. Brown led the team with 5 targets. RB Saquon Barkley followed with 3 targets, and Smith was the only other Eagle to see more than 1.

Eagles WRs A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (hamstring) were both full participants in practice all week and are not listed on the final injury report. They'll be back in their usual roles vs. the Browns on Sunday and should be back in fantasy lineups. The Eagles are also getting RT Lane Johnson back this week. It's all good news for QB Jalen Hurts.

Eagles WRs A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (hamstring) were full participants in Wednesday's practice. They're both on track to return and play their usual roles vs. the Browns this weekend. Get them back into fantasy lineups.

The Eagles are expecting WRs A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) to play vs. the Browns this weekend, according to Underdog's James Palmer. Brown missed the last three games with his hamstring injury, while Smith missed Week 4 with his concussion. QB Jalen Hurts mustered just 158 passing yards on 5.3 yards per attempt with his top two WRs missing in that loss to the Bucs. With this offense now back to full strength, expect a big bounce-back from Hurts this weekend.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (concussion) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Bucs. Philly gets a Week 5 bye, and Smith should be cleared before the Week 6 meeting with the Browns. We'll keep tabs on his progress.

Eagles WRs A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. Both guys now look unlikely to play vs. the Bucs this weekend. If that's the case, expect an even more run-heavy offense from Philadelphia with touches funneling to RB Saquon Barkley and TE Dallas Goedert.

Eagles WRs A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. Smith is unlikely to clear protocol in time for this weekend's game vs. the Bucs. And Brown looks no better than 50/50 to make it back for that one. If both guys are out, Philadelphia would be down to WRs Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson on the active roster. WR Parris Campbell was elevated from the practice squad for last week's game and would likely play again on Sunday. RB Saquon Barkley and TE Dallas Goedert would be the focal points of the offense.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith left in the fourth quarter of the game at New Orleans with a concussion. That obviously means he'll miss the rest of the game and will then need to pass through the league protocol before returning.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith delivered strong production through his first three seasons. The biggest fantasy complaint on him might have been a lack of weekly target consistency, especially since WR A.J. Brown arrived. But the Friday night opener gave encouraging signs for his usage under new OC Kellen Moore. Smith ran a career-high 70.7% of his pass snaps from the slot in the win over the Packers. That marked a big boost over his previous seasons.

The Athletic's Brooks Kubena says for the Eagles, "No player has been as impressive in camp" as WR Devonta Smith. "Smith has caught several deep passes from Hurts through six practices, showcasing an explosivity the Eagles lacked during their late-season collapse in 2023," Kubena writes. He adds that the new offense under OC Kellen Moore might continue to feature more downfield shots. According to Pro Football Focus, Hurts ranked just 20th last year in percentage of pass attempts traveling 20+ yards downfield -- among 40 qualifying QBs.
