Week 18 FanDuel Picks
Top Plays for FanDuel Cash Games and Tournaments
Here are the guys I’m considering for FanDuel Week 18:
Cash Game Quarterback
Joshua Dobbs, 49ers ($6,000) at Cardinals
Sunday looks like a showcase game for Dobbs, who’s filling in for Brock Purdy (elbow). Dobbs will enter free agency in the spring.
“Any time you get a chance to get on the field and play it’s always an audition,” Dobbs said via the San Francisco Chronicle. “Not only for the team that you’re on, but for the other 31 teams, especially knowing my contract situation and being a free agent in March.”
We saw Dobbs flash in 2023, when he tallied 2,464-13-10 across 13 games. He added 421 rushing yards and 6 TDs.
With plenty of pass-catching talent and a neutral matchup on tap, Dobbs is in position to pay off his minimum salary.
Tournament Quarterback
Bo Nix, Broncos ($7,800) vs. Chiefs
Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Jalen Hurts are off limits this slate. With rest situations popping up across the league, there’s some comfort in taking Nix against Kansas City. The Chiefs are expected to rest some key starters, as they’re locked in as the No. 1 seed.
The Broncos need to win to wrap up the No. 7 seed. So we should see four quarters from Nix, who’s tossed multiple TD passes in six of his past seven matchups.
Cash Game Running Back
Bijan Robinson, Falcons ($9,200) vs. Panthers
The Falcons need a win (and some help) to make the postseason. But they should give Robinson his usual workload in a plus matchup vs. Carolina.
Back in Week 6, Robinson tallied 24 FD points against the Panthers. He's one of the top Week 18 FanDuel picks across positions.
Zach Charbonnet, Seahawks ($7,000) at Rams
Kenneth Walker is on IR, setting Charbonnet up for workhorse touches vs. L.A.
The Rams matchup is slightly negative on the year. But it’s hard to turn down the projected volume here at only $7K.
Also in my player pool: Jahmyr Gibbs, Jonathan Taylor, Bucky Irving
Tournament Running Back
Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions ($8,800) vs. Vikings
Lions-Vikings has a slate-high over-under of 56.5. (In fact, it’s not even close.)
Detroit is implied for a huge 29.5 points.
Gibbs figures to be central in the scoring, especially with David Montgomery still sidelined. The 22-year-old has scored in four straight appearances.
Blake Corum, Rams ($5,500) vs. Seahawks
The Rams have already announced that Matt Stafford will sit out Week 18. We're expecting Kyren Williams to rest against Seattle, too.
"I'm excited about watching Blake Corum get a heavy workload," HC Sean McVay said this week. "... I think Blake has flashed in some of the opportunities that he's gotten."
Corum also indicated that he'll see his biggest workload to date.
"...[I'm] planning on getting more than I have been, so getting in a rhythm actually, showing everyone what I can really do with some more opportunity, I'm gonna take my opportunities," he told theRams.com. "I'm thankful, I'm ready to go out there and win, but I'm preparing the same as I've been all season – watching a lot of film, treating each game as his own. But I'm ready."
Among RBs, the rookie slots third in our FanDuel dollar per point ranks.
UPDATE: The Rams will be without several key starters in Week 18.
Also in my player pool: Bijan Robinson, Jonathan Taylor, Bucky Irving, Michael Carter, Will Shipley

Cash Game Wide Receivers
Justin Jefferson, Vikings ($9,500) at Lions
Not much needs to be said here.
Jefferson went for 7-81-1 vs. Detroit in October, while he rides into this game on a streak of five straight games with 7+ catches.
Jalen McMillan, Buccaneers ($6,100) vs. Panthers
Over the past month, McMillan leads the NFL with six receiving TDs. He’s generated four end zone targets over that stretch.
HC Todd Bowles recently praised the rookie for his late-season surge.
“His understanding of the offense – he’s a very talented player,” Bowles said via the Bucs’ official site. “He understands the offense, he’s very comfortable right now and playing with a lot of confidence. When the guys went down early in the year, he got a chance to get his feet wet and understand where he needs to be on the field from a spot standpoint. The older guys have helped him a lot, and he’s playing really fast right now.”
McMillan remains an underpriced DFS option for a strong scoring matchup vs. Carolina.
Also in my player pool: Mike Evans, Ricky Pearsall, Adam Thielen
Tournament Wide Receivers
Jameson Williams, Lions ($6,500) vs. Vikings
The Vikings have allowed the most catches, the second most yards, and fourth most TDs to enemy WRs.
We’ve seen Williams deliver TDs of 82, 70, 64, 52, and 37 yards this season. He’s scored in three straight, too, while his weekly volume has stabilized.
The young WR remains a strong ceiling option – especially at $6.5K.
Michael Pittman Jr., Colts ($6,200) vs. Jaguars
Pittman went off for 9-109-1 in Sunday's loss to the Giants. His price remains in a discounted range for a similarly advantageous matchup vs. Jacksonville.
The Jags enter the weekend bottom-10 in FanDuel points allowed to WRs.
Also in my player pool: Mike Evans, Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Marvin Harrison Jr., Courtland Sutton, D.J. Moore
Cash Game Tight End
Sam LaPorta, Lions ($6,000) vs. Vikings
After struggling for most of the season, LaPorta has recently looked like the guy who broke out as a 2023 rookie.
Since Week 14, he’s totaled 22-272-2 on four end zone targets. That’s top-3 fantasy producton.
He’ll look to keep rolling in a high-scoring environment vs. Minnesota. The Vikings profile as a positive matchup, per our adjusted strength of schedule numbers.
Also in my player pool: Trey McBride
Tournament Tight End
T.J. Hockenson, Vikings ($5,900) at Lions
Hockenson caught 5 of 6 targets for 68 yards in last week’s win over Green Bay. The yardage marked his highest total since Week 12.
The veteran remains without a TD this season. But he should have scoring chances against Detroit’s banged up defense. This matchup also sets up as a potential shootout.
Defense
New England Patriots ($3,300) vs. Buffalo Bills
The Pats have underwhelmed on defense in 2024. But they haven’t faced QB Mitchell Trubisky and what’s expected to be a cast of Buffalo backups…
Note: The Bills are implied for only 19.5 points – easily a season low.
Also in my player pool: Giants, Seahawks
