Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Commanders RB Brian Robinson is officially active for today’s game vs. the Titans. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said this morning that the plan is for Robinson to play about 20 snaps – or about one-third of the game. We’d try to not use him in Week 5 fantasy lineups, but Robinson’s return is bad news for RB Antonio Gibson.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Commanders plan to play rookie RB Brian Robinson Jr. for about 20 snaps in his debut today against the Titans. That's roughly one-third of a game's worth of offensive snaps. We're betting on Antonio Gibson continuing to lead the backfield in playing time and touches today, but that sizable chunk going to Robinson -- plus the continued presence of J.D. McKissic -- lowers both the floor and ceiling for Gibson. He arrives as just RB19 in total PPR points for the season without Robinson involved to date.
Bills WR Jamison Crowder (ankle) has been placed on IR. He'll likely miss the rest of the season with his broken left ankle and can be dropped from fantasy rosters.
The Commanders are activating RB Brian Robinson Jr. from the non-football injury list. The rookie will make his NFL debut in Sunday's game against the Titans. We wouldn't use him right away in fantasy football lineups, barring a clear message from Washington coaches that Robinson is headed for a backfield-leading share of opportunities. His return does knock Antonio Gibson down the Week 5 RB rankings, though, and take a little off J.D. McKissic's projection.
Panthers LB Frankie Luvu (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. He sandwiched a missed Thursday practice between a pair of limited workouts this week. S Xavier Woods (hamstring) is also questionable after missing practice all week. HC Matt Rhule said Friday he expects both guys to play, according to Panthers Wire. We'll confirm their statuses Sunday afternoon. It is a 4:05 p.m. ET start, so make sure you have insurance if you're waiting on Luvu for your IDP lineup.
Cowboys WR Noah Brown (neck) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll play vs. the Rams on Sunday but is a less attractive fantasy option with WR Michael Gallup back.
The Lions on Friday waived K Austin Seibert. Michael Badgley -- who joined the practice squad earlier in the week -- will step in for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Commanders HC Ron Rivera said Friday that RB Brian Robinson "had a good week" of practice. "We're pretty fired up," Rivera added. "We'll go through tomorrow morning and see how he is and then decide." It sounds like Robinson has a shot to play vs. the Titans this weekend. We wouldn't use him in Week 5 fantasy lineups, but his return would put a significant dent in RB Antonio Gibson's fantasy value.
Cowboys WR Noah Brown (neck) was a full-go in Wednesday's practice. He hurt his neck last week but is clearly on track to play vs. the Rams on Sunday.
49ers WR Deebo Samuel tallied 6 catches for 115 yards and 1 score in Week 4. He was nearly shutout on the ground (2 carries, 2 yards) but made his night with a 57-yard TD where he broke several tackles. Going back to 2021, Samuel’s now scored 5 TDs of 40+ yards. Next up is a road matchup with Carolina.
Commanders RB Brian Robinson has been designated to return from IR. That makes him eligible to practice immediately -- and gives Washington 3 weeks to place him on the active roster or send him to season-ending IR. Robinson is clearly trending toward making his NFL debut sometime over the next few weeks. We'll continue to monitor his progress, but the rookie should now be owned in fantasy leagues of 10+ teams.
Bills WR Jamison Crowder broke his left ankle in Sunday's win over the Ravens, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Doctors are still determining the extent of other damage to the ankle, but Crowder is almost certainly done for the year. That should mean more control over the slot WR position for Isaiah McKenzie, who left Sunday's game with a concussion. If McKenzie can't go in Week 5, rookie Khalil Shakir might be running as a top 3 WR against Pittsburgh.
Chargers RB Austin Ekeler scored twice on the ground in Sunday's win over the Texans, amid 13 carries for 60 yards. He added a 14-yard receiving TD in the 4th quarter, among 6 catches for 49 yards. It marked the 3rd time in 4 games that Ekeler got at least 18 touches. Joshua Kelley and Sony Michel combined to play 10 fewer snaps combined.
Cowboys WR Noah Brown suffered a neck injury in Sunday's win over the Commanders. We'll see about the official diagnosis and return timeline.
Bills WR Jamison Crowder injured his ankle and is officially doubtful to return to today's game vs. the Ravens.
Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) is officially active for today’s game vs. the Commanders. He’s been a full participant in practice the past 2 weeks, but it’s still unclear how big a role he’ll play in his 1st game since last January’s torn ACL. Try to leave Gallup on fantasy benches this week. WR Jalen Tolbert is a healthy scratch for Dallas.
Commanders RB Brian Robinson is expected to be activated from the non-football injury list and return to practice this coming week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's still uncertain if Robinson will play against the Titans in Week 5, Rapoport adds, but it's clear that the rookie continues to make excellent progress in his return from a pair of gunshot wounds to his lower half. We'll continue to track Robinson's status, but he's worth adding now if he's available in your fantasy league.
Lions K Austin Seibert (groin) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. K Dominik Eberle is on Detroit’s practice squad, so he figures to be the man to replace Seibert. Look elsewhere in fantasy.
Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) is not listed on the final injury report after a full week of practice. He's set to make his 2022 debut vs. Washington on Sunday. It's unclear if Gallup will play a full slate of snaps in his 1st game since the torn ACL, though, so we'd leave him on fantasy benches this week.
Lions K Austin Seibert (groin) did not practice on Wednesday. We'll keep you updated on his status over the next few days. But you might want to line up a fallback option if you're hoping to use Seibert in a fantasy lineup this week.
