Washington Commanders Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Commanders DB Quan Martin is inactive for today's game against the Cowboys. He was a very late addition to the injury report (late Sunday morning) with an illness.

Commanders RB Austin Ekeler (concussion) is active for today’s game vs. the Cowboys. It’s unclear how big a role he’ll be ready for in his first action since Week 12. Ekeler would be a risky fantasy play this week.

The Commanders are activating RB Austin Ekeler from IR. He missed the past four games with a concussion but should be ready for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. See where Ekeler lands in our updated Week 18 RB rankings.

Commanders RB Austin Ekeler (concussion) put in a full week of practice but is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Cowboys. Out since Week 12, Ekeler could play limited snaps even if he’s active this weekend. Try to avoid him in Week 18 fantasy lineups.

Commanders RB Austin Ekeler (concussion) has been designated to return from IR. He's been out since suffering his third documented concussion in Week 12. We'll see if Ekeler plays in Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys, which would ding RB Brian Robinson's value. Ekeler should at least be ready to go for Round 1 of the playoffs.

WR Olamide Zaccheaus led Washington in targets for the second straight game in Sunday night's win over the Falcons. He delivered 8 receptions for 85 yards and a TD on those 9 targets, plus a carry for 8 yards. TE Zach Ertz followed at 7 targets (6-72-2 receiving). WR Terry McLaurin managed just 1 catch on his 7 targets.

Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. lost a pair of fumbles in Sunday's win over the Eagles. The first came on the team's second possession, and then Robinson logged just 1 touch over Washington's next two drives. After his second fumble -- early in the second quarter -- RB Chris Rodriguez saw his first action on the ensuing drive. Robinson did return again and finished the game as Washington's lead back. He still played 42 snaps to 19 for Jeremy McNichols and 7 for Rodriguez. Robinson logged just 10 carries for 24 yards and a 2-17 receiving line on 3 targets.

Commanders QB Jayden Daniels threw for 258 yards and 5 TDs in Sunday's win over the Eagles. He added 81 rushing yards on 9 carries. Daniels also tossed a pair of INTs but took just 1 sack for the game. His TDs went to WR Olamide Zaccheaus (2), WR Jamison Crowder (2), and WR Terry McLaurin. It marked Daniels' fourth straight game with 2+ TD passes. Before that stretch, he hadn't hit 2 TD passes in consecutive weeks.

WR Olamide Zaccheaus nabbed a pair of TDs in Sunday's win over the Eagles, scoring from 4 yards and 49 yards out in the fourth quarter. He also led the Commanders in targets (8) and receiving yards (70), while tying WR Terry McLaurin for the team reception lead (5).

Commanders S Jeremy Chinn is active for today's game against the Eagles. I boosted his playing-time projection, which has moved him up the Week 16 DB rankings.

11:32am EST 12/22/24

Commanders TE Zach Ertz (concussion, shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Eagles. His playing time shouldn’t be impacted by last week’s concussion, but Ertz draws a tough matchup against the No. 8 TE defense. See where he sits in the Week 16 TE Rankings.

Commanders TE Zach Ertz (concussion) is "trending toward playing" vs. the Eagles today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Ertz is listed as questionable, but concussed players who won't get cleared in time to play are usually ruled out on Saturday. We'll get Washington's inactives around 11:30 am ET. Assuming he ends up active, Ertz will be a shaky TE1 play against Philadelphia's eighth-ranked TE defense.

Commanders TE Zach Ertz (concussion, shoulder) is questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Eagles. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday but still has work to do to clear protocol. We should get an update on Ertz’s progress on Saturday and will get Washington’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

Commanders TE Zach Ertz (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. That at least gives him a chance to be cleared for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. We'll get another update on Ertz's progress tomorrow.

Commanders TE Zach Ertz (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. He's unlikely to be cleared in time for this weekend's game vs. the Eagles. Rookie Ben Sinnott led Washington TEs in pass routes last week but is not a recommended Week 16 fantasy play against Philadelphia's eighth-ranked TE defense.

Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. managed just 65 rushing yards in Sunday's win over the Saints, who arrived as one of the league's worst run defenses. Robinson did so on 21 carries (3.1 per rush), controlling 87.5% of the team's RB carries for the game. Robinson added 3 receptions for 22 yards on 3 targets.

Commanders QB Jayden Daniels had a good passing day and led his team's rushing in Sunday's victory over the Saints. But he also took a lot of pressure from a defense that entered the day tied for just 22nd in the league in sacks. Daniels went 25-of-31 passing for 226 yards and 2 TDs. He added 11 carries for 66 yards.

Commanders TE Zach Ertz is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Saints with a head injury. He's presumably being checked for a concussion. We'll update Ertz's status when we learn more.

Update: Ertz is out with a concussion. It's his third documented concussion.

Commanders K Zane Gonzalez (foot) is inactive for today's game vs. the Saints. He'll be replaced by K Greg Joseph, who was just called up from the practice squad. Joseph made 13 of 16 FG tries for the Giants earlier this season and owns a career 82.5% FG conversion rate. In a plus matchup in New Orleans, Joseph is a fine fantasy play if you were hoping to use Gonzalez.

Commanders WR Noah Brown is "going to be out for a while," per HC Dan Quinn. In fact, Quinn mentioned the possibility of Brown going on season-ending IR while noting a "significant internal injury." The veteran was operating as Washington’s WR2, but now those snaps will go to Dyami Brown, Olamide Zaccheaus, and Luke McCaffrey. You shouldn’t count on any of those WRs for Week 15 fantasy production at New Orleans. Meanwhile, Terry McLaurin's outlook improves as a fantasy WR2.
