Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Patriots WR DeVante Parker (knee) is active for tonight's game against the Vikings. He played just 40% of snaps last week, though, and remained limited in practice this week. Parker also garnered just 2 targets in that contest. He's not much of a fantasy option tonight.
Patriots WR DeVante Parker (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Vikings. He was limited in practice all week after returning to last Sunday's game, so Parker should be available for this one. But he played just 40% of the snaps last week, making him a shaky option even in Thanksgiving DFS contests.
Steelers Kenny Pickett didn't do anything special in Sunday's loss to the Bengals, but he did enough to sit 14th among fantasy QBs heading into the Monday night game. The rookie completed 25 of 42 passes (59.5%) for 265 yards (6.3 per attempt) and 1 TD. He missed connections with WR George Pickens on 2 other occasions that could have added quite a bit more -- 1 a drop by the rookie wideout. Pickett did hit Pickens for his only score from 24 yards out. He also took just 2 sacks and avoided turning the ball over. The QB added 14 yards on just 2 carries. The rushing has helped him be viable for 2-QB and superflex leagues. You should still be able to do better in 1-QB formats. Pickett and the Steelers visit the Colts and Falcons the next 2 weeks.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley managed just 22 yards on his 15 carries in Sunday's loss to the Lions. He added only 13 more on 2 receptions among 5 targets. It was even more disappointing for such a performance to come against a Lions defense ranked 27th in Football Outsiders' rushing DVOA. The rest of Barkley's season, of course, means we need to dismiss this one and continue playing the fantasy stud. Week 12 holds a Dallas defense that allowed him 126 total yards in their Week 3 meeting.
Eagles WR DeVonta Smith led the team in targets (9), receptions (6) and receiving yards (78) in Sunday's win over the Colts. WR A.J. Brown followed not far behind with 5 catches for 60 yards among 7 targets. No other Eagle exceeded 2 targets in the 1st game since TE Dallas Goedert (shoulder) landed on IR. WR Quez Watkins caught the team's only TD pass among 2 catches for 31 yards.
Eagles QB Jalen Hurts made his fantasy day on the ground in Sunday's win over the Colts. He rushed for 86 yards and a TD, leading the team in yards and carries. He proved just decent passing, completing 18 of 27 throws for 190 yards and a TD. He also took 3 sacks and fumbled twice, losing 1. Hurts threw 16 of his passes toward DeVonta Smith or A.J. Brown, with no other Eagle drawing more than 2 targets.
Commanders WR Jahan Dotson saw his playing time rebound in his 2nd game back from a hamstring injury Sunday. He matched WR Terry McLaurin in running a route on 82% of Taylor Heinicke's dropbacks. WR Curtis Samuel trailed them by just 2 routes, returning the trio's playing time to where it was at the start of the year. McLaurin still led the team with 7 targets, catching 4 for 55 yards. Dotson and Samuel finished with just 2 targets and 1 catch apiece. Samuel, though, scored the team's only offensive TD on a 10-yard run. A Week 12 date with Atlanta presents upside for everyone on offense.
Patriots WR DeVante Parker (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Jets. He’s popped for a few viable fantasy outings this season but hasn’t been a reliable play. Parker shouldn’t be in Week 11 season-long lineups.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Eagles TE Dallas Goedert is expected to return from his shoulder injury this regular season. "The only question is whether it's with 2, 3 or 4 games left," a source said. "But he will be back this season, definitely." Returning with 4 games left would mean Goedert missed the minimum (4 games) for a player place on IR. That would put him back on the field in Week 15. Two games, obviously, wouldn't bring him back until Week 17. It's certainly fine to stash Goedert in an IR slot if your fantasy football roster has them. Whether to keep him stashed in a regular bench spot, though, will depend on how deep your roster goes, what you have as TE replacements and what you need to keep around at other positions.
Eagles WRs A.J. Brown (ankle) and DeVonta Smith (knee) are off the final Week 11 injury report. Both guys were limited on Wednesday and Thursday but put in full practices on Friday. They should be ready for their usual roles vs. the Colts this weekend.
Patriots WR DeVante Parker (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jets. Still not at 100% and in a tough matchup, Parker shouldn’t be in your Week 11 fantasy plans.
Eagles WRs A.J. Brown (ankle) and DeVonta Smith (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice. Neither guys appears in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Colts, but check back tomorrow for Philly's final injury report.
The Eagles have signed former Buccaneers DT Ndamukong Suh to a 1-year deal. The move comes just days after Philly allowed Washington's rushing offense to dominate time of possession in the team's 1st loss of the season. We'll see how much Suh actually helps that area, though. According to ESPN's Seth Walker, Suh ranked 69th among 70 DTs in run-stop win rate last season.
Patriots WR DeVante Parker (knee) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. That gives him a shot to return for this weekend's game vs. the Jets. Parker has been sidelined since the 1st game vs. the Jets back in Week 8.
Eagles WR A.J. Brown (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He tweaked that ankle in Monday night's loss to Washington but was able he return. We'll keep an eye on Brown over the next few days, but he should be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Colts. WR DeVonta Smith (knee) was also limited on Wednesday.
Colts LB Shaquille Leonard had back surgery Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season. The operation was reportedly successful, so he should have time to get ready for 2023. In the meantime, Zaire Franklin and Bobby Okereke should be locked in as Indy's full-time LBs the rest of this season.
Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (shoulder) has been placed on IR. We still don't have any details on his injury or a timetable for return, but he's now out for at least the next 4 games. That makes Week 15 his earliest possible return. We'd still try to keep Goedert stashed, but owners in short-bench leagues might need to drop him.
Per insider Mike Garafolo, Eagles TE Dallas Goedert will miss “extended time” with the shoulder injury he suffered on Monday night. Garafolo adds that Goedert’s season is not over. TE Jack Stoll will slide into the lead role, although he’ll be tough to trust in fantasy lineups this week at Indianapolis.
Steelers QB Kenny Pickett went just 18 of 30 passing for 199 yards and took 6 sacks in Sunday's win over the Saints. He did tally 51 yards and a TD on the ground. That's nice, but the passing performance against a beat-up Saints D missing its top CB confirms Pickett should be well outside of lineup plans for 1-QB fantasy football leagues.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley racked up 35 carries in Sunday's win over the Texans, more than doubling the team's pass attempts (17). He tallied 152 yards and a TD on the ground, adding 1 catch for 8 yards. It marked the 4th straight game of 20+ rushes for Barkley and his 2nd game this season with more than 30 attempts. Let's hope -- for the sake of his health -- that the Giants don't continue to work Barkley quite so hard. A Week 11 home date with a soft Lions defense should find him busy once again, though.
