Houston Texans Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) was a full-go in practice all week and isn’t listed on the final injury report. It’s a strange situation after Schultz was a late scratch for last Sunday night’s game vs. the Eagles. But the injury report suggests that he’s ready for his usual role against the Lions this weekend. Consider Schultz a risk/reward Week 7 fantasy play.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice. He was a surprise inactive this past Sunday night but is evidently on track to play vs. the Lions this weekend. Schultz should get QB Dak Prescott back for that one, but we'd like to see him make it through a game healthy before getting him back in fantasy lineups.

Vikings TE Irv Smith posted a bizarre Week 6 line at Miami: 4 catches, 7 yards and 1 TD. Smith scored at the goal line when he blocked and released to find plenty of open space. Overall, his 4 targets ranked 4th on the team behind Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and K.J. Osborn. There hasn't been a ceiling to chase here, but Smith does enter a Week 7 bye with 3+ catches in 4 of his past 5 matchups. He could be a top-15 option in Week 8 vs. Arizona.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is INACTIVE for tonight's game vs. the Eagles. It's a big surprise after he was left off the final injury report. TEs Jake Ferguson, Peyton Hendershot and Sean McKeon are active for Dallas tonight. Ferguson and Hendershot figure to split the pass-catching work.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is not listed on the final Week 6 injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. That makes it look like the knee won’t be an issue vs. the Eagles on Sunday night, but Schultz remains a shaky fantasy play if it’s Cooper Rush under center.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said earlier this week that Schultz is expected to be available for Sunday night's game vs. the Eagles, but we wouldn't trust him in fantasy lineups with this recurring knee issue.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz aggravated his sprained PCL in Sunday's win over the Rams. Pelissero adds, though, that Schultz "should be good to go" for this Sunday night's game vs. the Eagles. We'll keep an eye on his practice participation this week, but we'd try to not use Schultz in Week 6 fantasy lineups.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon posted 14 carries for 78 yards in Sunday’s loss at Baltimore. He finally found some room to run, leading to a season-best 5.5 YPC. His passing-game contributions remained minor, though. With 3 catches for 10 yards, he’s now been held under 15 receiving yards in 3 straight. Backup Samaje Perine beat Mixon in targets (4-3), although Perine did trail Mixon in routes run (12-20). Despite a league-high 15 carries inside the 10, Mixon remains stuck on 1 total score. Week 6 turns up a road matchup with New Orleans.

Texans rookie RB Dameon Pierce loved 26 carries in Sunday's win at Jacksonville, turning them into 99 yards and a TD. He also ranked 3rd on the team with 5 targets, catching 3 for 14 yards. Pierce again dominated Rex Burkhead in playing time and continued to lead him in pass routes.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Rams with a right knee injury. That's the same knee in which he injured his PCL in Week 2. We'll update his status when we know more.

Texans TE Brevin Jordan (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. TE Pharaoh Brown was released earlier this week, so it’ll be O.J. Howard and Jordan Akins at TE on Sunday.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) put in a full practice on Wednesday. It's an upgrade after he was limited all last week. Schultz should be closer to 100% for Sunday's game vs. the Rams.

Texans rookie RB Dameon Pierce used a 75-yard TD run in Sunday's loss to the Chargers to rack up 131 yards on 14 attempts. Pierce added 6 receptions (for just 8 yards) among 6 targets. Only WR Brandin Cooks drew more looks in the passing game. No other Texan logged a rushing attempt. Rex Burkhead trailed Pierce by 1 target and ran 6 fewer routes.

WR Christian Kirk led the Jaguars with 9 targets in a sloppy loss to the Eagles on Sunday, but he managed only 2 catches (for 60 yards). WR Jamal Agnew stepped in to catch 4 balls for 50 yards (among 6 targets) and score the team's only 2 offensive TDs. JaMycal Hasty was the only other Jaguar to draw more than 1 target on a sloppy offensive day in rainy Philly. TE Evan Engram and WR Marvin Jones each drew just 1 target apiece.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Commanders. He was limited in practice all week, but it’s uncertain if he’s ready for his usual role in this one. Schultz is just a TE2 today.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is expected to play Sunday against the Commanders. He's officially questionable after missing last week with a PCL issue. Schultz still carries some risk for fantasy football lineups.

Texans TE Brevin Jordan (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Chargers. TE Pharaoh Brown and Jordan Akins split pass-catching duties in Jordan’s absence last week. Avoid the situation.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Commanders. He was limited in practice all week. It sounds like Schultz is on track to return for this one. But between the injury and continued absence of QB Dak Prescott, Schultz would be a shaky TE1 play.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon racked up 24 carries and 4 targets in Thursday night's win over the Dolphins. All that work resulted in 74 yards and 1 TD. That's a fine fantasy outing -- but we're expecting more on that massive volume. Mixon had very little room to run behind a still-in-progress offensive line. And on the few occasions when he found some space, he failed to make defenders miss. Mixon is now averaging just 2.7 yards per carry and 4.8 yards per target through 4 games. By comparison, he averaged 4.1 yards per carry and 6.5 yards per target last year. Expect his efficiency marks to start creeping toward those 2021 numbers going forward, making Mixon a nice trade target right now.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He seemed semi-close to playing this past Monday night, so we think there's a chance he's back for this weekend's game vs. Washington. Check back tomorrow for another update.
