Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks, but we'll get another update on Hunt tomorrow.
Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (foot) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Eagles, but we'll see how Samuel is listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (hamstring) was added to Thursday's injury report and did not practice. Johnson, of course, just came off IR last week after missing four games with a hamstring injury. It's unclear if this was a planned day off or if he suffered a setback. We'll learn more tomorrow.
Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be fine for this weekend's game vs. the Patriots, but we'll get another update on Mostert tomorrow.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (hip) was officially limited in Thursday's practice. He told the media afterward that he'll play vs. the Patriots this weekend. Hill can stay penciled into Week 8 fantasy lineups for now. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Colts TE Kylen Granson (concussion) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. He's a long shot to be cleared in time for Sunday's game vs. the Saints. Andrew Ogletree led Colts TEs in pass routes last week but didn't draw a target.
Colts RB Zack Moss (elbow, heel) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be available for this weekend's game vs. the Saints, but check back tomorrow to see how Moss is listed on the final injury report.
Packers TE Luke Musgrave (ankle) missed his second straight practice on Thursday. He's looking unlikely to play vs. the Vikings this weekend, but we'll see how Musgrave is listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He'll play vs. the Vikings this weekend, but there's no reason to believe at this point that he'll be at 100%.
Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (foot) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be on track to play vs. the Packers this weekend, but we'll see how Hockenson is listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
49ers QB Brock Purdy (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He's made some progress through the protocol and has a chance to be cleared in time for Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. But, as of now, we'd still consider QB Sam Darnold more likely to start that one.
Bucs WR Chris Godwin (neck) is active for tonight's game vs. the Bills. He was listed as questionable but got in a full practice on Wednesday. We're expecting Godwin to play his usual role tonight.
Bucs QB Baker Mayfield (knee) is active for tonight's game vs. the Bills. He was wearing a sleeve on his left leg in pre-game warmups, but there's been no indication that the knee will be a major factor tonight. Still, Mayfield profiles as just a low-end QB2 with the Bucs sporting a 16.5-point implied total.
Texans WR Robert Woods (foot) is not expected to play vs. the Panthers on Sunday, per insider Aaron Wilson. Hopefully you weren't hoping to use Woods in Week 8 fantasy lineups. The big impact here in on WR Tank Dell, who we were worried might not play a full slate of snaps alongside Woods and WR Noah Brown. Now that Woods is out, Nico Collins, Dell, and Brown should be locked in as Houston's top three WRs.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (hip) was back on the practice field on Thursday, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. Hill "ran routes, caught passes, and did his normal high-intensity cutting during drills," Wolfe adds. After some ominous stuff on Hill yesterday, it now looks like he has a good chance to play vs. the Patriots this weekend. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Bills TE Dawson Knox will "likely" be placed on IR with his wrist injury that requires surgery, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That'd knock Knox out for the next four games. He's droppable in all redraft fantasy leagues. Dalton Kincaid has a good chance at TE1 production for however long Knox is sidelined.
Chargers WR Mike Williams underwent successful surgery on Wednesday (October 25) to repair his torn ACL, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Williams is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, which will be about nine months post-surgery. His contract currently carries a $32.5 million cap hit in 2024, so the Chargers will surely be looking to restructure. Williams turned 29 earlier this month.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero confirms that Bucs QB Baker Mayfield (knee) and WR Chris Godwin (neck) will play vs. the Bills tonight. Both guys are listed as questionable but put in full practices on Wednesday. We're not expecting either guy to be limited tonight.
Ravens LB Roquan Smith sat out Wednesday's practice with a shoulder injury. We didn't see any report of the issue coming out of Sunday's win over the Lions. Smith did play 89% of snaps as opposed to his usual 100%. But so did four other usual full-timers before leaving the blowout victory early. We'll track Smith's status through the week.
Cardinals S Jalen Thompson (hamstring) managed a limited practice Wednesday. It was his first practice since suffering his injury back in Week 5. We'll see whether Thompson can keep trending toward a return for Sunday's game against the Ravens. If so, he should jump right back into a full-time role. S Andre Chachere should be able to stay in the lineup as well, at least near full time. Thompson has primarily run as the slot CB when healthy this season.
