Tyler Johnson Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Rams HC Sean McVay confirmed on Monday that WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) will not play vs. the Bears this weekend. Kupp has not been placed on IR, but we're unlikely to see him before the Rams return from their Week 6 bye.

Rams WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the 49ers. He avoided IR but is still looking at a multi-game absence. The Rams are down to Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, Jordan Whittington, and Tutu Atwell as their top four WRs. See where those guys land in our Week 3 Rankings.

Rams HC Sean McVay says WR Cooper Kupp is expected to miss “an extended period of time” and might hit IR, according to ESPN’s Sarah Barshop. If IR is just a maybe, that indicates the timeline sits around four games. With Puka Nacua already out, there’s clear opportunity the next few weeks for other Rams WRs and TE Colby Parkinson. You can also expect to not see QB Matthew Stafford high in our weekly rankings. Check your Free Agent Finder to see who might make sense for your situation

Rams WR Cooper Kupp injured his left ankle near the end of the first half of Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals. He's been deemed doubtful to return. We'll look for further updates on the injury, but this could be disastrous for a Rams team already without WR Puka Nacua for at least three more games -- and likely more. L.A. is now down to WRs Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, Tutu Atwell, and Jordan Whittington.

Rams WR Puka Nacua (knee) will miss at least the next four games after going on IR. But HC Sean McVay suggested on Wednesday that Nacua might end up missing more time than that.

Rams HC Sean McVay said Monday that the team is placing WR Puka Nacua on IR after he aggravated his right knee injury in Sunday night's loss to the Lions, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Nacua is dealing with a PCL sprain that he reportedly hurt in a "more significant" way against Detroit.

Rams Wire's Cameron DaSilva says "no one should sleep on [Demarcus] Robinson or [Tyler] Johnson as the Rams' No. 3 receiver." He adds that either has a chance to "leapfrog" Ben Skowronek, Tutu Atwell, and Puka Nacua in pursuit of that third spot, joining Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson. We wouldn't recommend investing heavily into any of those competitors -- and we're not even especially interested in Jefferson. But we'll be watching to see who emerges as that No. 3 wideout.

The Texans on Wednesday claimed WR Tyler Johnson, who failed to make Tampa Bay's regular-season roster. Whereas Johnson got nudged out by a loaded Buccaneers WR depth chart, he faces much more opportunity in Houston. Only WR Brandin Cooks exceeded 60 targets for last year's squad, and WR Nico Collins is the only other returnee who reached 40 looks. Second-round pick John Metchie is out following his leukemia diagnosis. So there's room for Johnson to climb as high as 3rd on the Houston WR depth chart. He'll likely need an injury to Cooks or Collins to have a real shot at fantasy relevance, though.

The Buccaneers are releasing WR Tyler Johnson, according to multiple reports. The 3rd-year wideout looks good enough to land on a roster somewhere but lost out to a loaded WR corps in Tampa. A release instead of a trade, though, could indicate limited interest around the league.

Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles on Friday highlighted WR Russell Gage as a consistently strong performer so far in training camp. "Gage has really been the one to stand out," he said, according to Greg Auman of The Athletic. The report also mentions WRs Tyler Johnson and Jaelon Darden as early leaders in competition for what might be the final 2 spots on the depth chart. Gage is locked into the top 4 with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Julio Jones. We'll continue watching camp reports and preseason signals for specific roles within 1 of the league's top pass offenses.

Bucs beat writer Joey Knight believes WR Tyler Johnson “faces fierce competition for a roster spot.” Johnson, 24 in August, posted just 36-360-0 last season. While the WR4 job is up for grabs, we’re not drafting any Tampa Bay WR not named Mike Evans, Chris Godwin or Russell Gage.

Bucs HC Bruce Arians said after Sunday's win over the Jets that WR Antonio Brown's time with the Bucs is over. That's not a surprise after Brown removed his jersey and left the field in the middle of the 3rd quarter. But it's still a massive loss for a Bucs offense that is also without WR Chris Godwin for the rest of the season. That leaves Breshad Perriman, Cyril Grayson and Tyler Johnson as the top WRs behind Mike Evans. Evans and TE Rob Gronkowski should be the focal points of the passing game in Week 18 and the playoffs.

Bucs WR Breshad Perriman has landed on the COVID list. He'll miss Sunday night's game vs. the Saints. Perriman caught the game-winning TD vs. the Bills last week, but he saw just 2 targets on a 31% snap rate. Perriman's absence should make Tyler Johnson Tampa's clear #3 WR on Sunday night.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin (foot) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. Washington. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. "We'll see how he is tomorrow," HC Bruce Arians said Friday. "He looked OK today but we'll see how he is tomorrow. ... [He did] just enough to look OK. We'll see how he is." Arians labeled Godwin a game-time decision. The good news is that we’ll get his game status around 11:30 am ET. Godwin will obviously carry elevated risk if he ends up active. If not, WR Tyler Johnson will be a viable Week 10 spot starter.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Saints. HC Bruce Arians suggested earlier this week that Brown isn't a lock to be ready after the Week 9 bye. His absence is good news for WRs Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Tyler Johnson will operate as the #3 WR but would be a fantasy flier.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Bears. We still don't have any details on Brown's injury, but the fact that he didn't practice at all this week makes him seem iffy for Week 8. It's worth noting that Tampa Bay has a Week 9 bye. Brown's absence on Sunday should elevate WR Tyler Johnson to the #3 spot on the depth chart. He's still just a DFS tournament flier. WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin should soak up extra targets with Brown out.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He appears to be in real danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Bears. Brown's absence would move WR Tyler Johnson up into the #3 spot on the depth chart -- and mean more targets for WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Bucs WR Scotty Miller will miss “a significant amount of time" with a toe injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Rams, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. If you had Miller stashed in a redraft league, you can drop him. WR Antonio Brown (COVID) should be back for Week 4. But if he's not, Tyler Johnson would have #3 WR duties to himself.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (COVID) is officially inactive for today’s game vs. the Rams. We’re expecting Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson to split #3 WR duties. Neither guy can be trusted in fantasy lineups. Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski should all pick up extra targets with Brown out.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (COVID) didn't travel with the team to Los Angeles and is out for Sunday's game against the Rams, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. When Brown missed last year's NFC Championship, Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson split #3 WR duties. Miller ran a route on 53% of pass plays and saw 3 targets; Johnson registered a 32% route rate and 2 targets. Unless we get more clarity on the situation, neither guy can be trusted in fantasy lineups. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski should pick up extra volume with Brown out.
