Kyler Murray Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Kliff Kingsbury said he'd be comfortable playing Murray vs. the 49ers this weekend even if he doesn't practice at all this week. Murray told reporters that the 5 days off since Thursday's night game vs. the Packers was "definitely helpful" and that he feels "good." He added, "I think I'll be good to go on Sunday if I just know the game plan and get the mental reps." We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer hears that Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is dealing with a "1-to-3 week type of [ankle] sprain." Glazer later called Murray's injury a medial ankle sprain, which is to the inside of the ankle. "There's a chance" Murray could play in Week 9, Glazer added. We'll get an update on Murray's status when the Cardinals kick off their week of practice on Wednesday. But Murray owners should be lining up a backup plan in case Murray misses this week.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray "should be fine" after hurting his left ankle in Thursday night's loss to the Packers and is expected to be available for Week 9's game vs. the 49ers, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. We'll keep an eye on Murray when Arizona gets back to work next week.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray appeared to injure his left ankle late in Thursday night's loss to the Packers. He was able to stay in for the final 2 plays -- a handoff and a game-ending INT -- but was limping around afterward. We'll look for updates on his status. Murray gets 10 days to heal up before Week 9's game vs. the 49ers.

Today's Cardinals-Browns game is expected to see 20 mph sustained winds with gusts around 30 mph. We saw a couple of windy games in Cleveland disappoint for fantasy purposes last season. Today isn't quite as windy as those, but the passing and kicks games still figure to be impacted. We certainly wouldn't be benching guys like Kyler Murray or DeAndre Hopkins. But use the weather as a tiebreaker if you're considering more fringy passing-game options from these teams.

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury tested positive for COVID and will miss Sunday's game vs. the Browns. QB coach Cam Turner is also out after testing positive. Kingsbury is an offensive-minded coach and Arizona's play caller, so it's notable news for QB Kyler Murray and the rest of this offense. We're not adjusting our projections for the Cardinals offense, but the situation adds downside risk.

The Eagles traded TE Zach Ertz to the Cardinals in exchange for rookie CB Tay Gowan and a 2022 fifth-round draft pick. Ertz has been on the trade block all year, and Arizona came calling after losing TE Maxx Williams to a season-ending knee injury last week. Williams averaged 4 targets in 4 healthy games this season. Ertz has a chance to exceed that mark the rest of the way, but he'll probably struggle for reliable weekly fantasy value alongside Arizona's deep WR corps. We're assuming Ertz won't play vs. the Browns this weekend after playing his final game for the Eagles last night. The real winner here is TE Dallas Goedert, who should finally get a full-time role in Philly with Ertz out of the way. See where Goedert and Ertz sit in the updated Rest-of-Season Rankings.

Update: Ertz isn't even eligible to play vs. the Browns on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Ertz should make his Cardinals debut in Week 7 vs. the Texans.
