Julio Jones Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

NFL insider Albert Breer tweeted Wednesday that Buccaneers WR Julio Jones “is playing fast, looks smooth [and] has clicked with Tom Brady.” Breer recently visited Bucs camp and observed the coaching staff limiting Jones’ practice reps. (No surprise there.) Despite injury risk, the veteran is an intriguing bench stash alongside Brady.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Buccaneers are signing WR Julio Jones to a 1-year deal. He joins a WR corps that added Russell Gage on a 3-year deal in free agency and is not putting Chris Godwin on the PUP to open training camp. We'll see about Godwin's status through camp and preseason. We'll also see how the team plans to sort out a crowded WR depth chart. The Jones signing is clearly bad news for the 2022 outlooks on players such as Tyler Johnson, Cyril Grayson, Jaelon Darden, Breshad Perriman and Scotty Miller.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin has been cleared to practice at training camp. He surprisingly avoids the PUP list despite being only ~7 months out from ACL surgery. While he won’t be a full practice participant, look for Godwin’s WR32 ADP to rise immediately. Also note: Tampa Bay just added Julio Jones on a 1-year deal.

Per beat writer Jeff Zrebiec, the Ravens believe WR Rashod Bateman is “ready to break out.” That’s clearly not a stretch, as Baltimore just dealt Marquise Brown after using a Round 1 pick on Bateman in the 2021 draft. Zrebiec adds, however, that the Ravens will “likely” add a veteran WR “at some point.” We’d bet against any available veteran significantly altering Bateman’s 2022 role. But there are some intriguing names still available, most notably Julio Jones and Will Fuller.

The Titans are releasing WR Julio Jones, according to multiple reports. The move saves some cap space but also leaves behind $8.4 million in dead cap, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine ranked 2nd among Titans (behind A.J. Brown) in targets, receptions, receiving yards and TD catches last season, and stands as the most immediate beneficiary. But we'd be shocked if this offense doesn't make at least a couple of significant pass-catching additions -- either in free agency or the NFL Draft. Jones turned 33 in February and will be heading into his 12th NFL season this fall (assuming he continues playing).

Titans WR Julio Jones has been activated from the COVID list. He should be back for Sunday's game vs. the Texans, which Tennessee needs to win to lock up the AFC's #1 seed. Jones, of course, can't be trusted in fantasy lineups. He's topped 59 yards just once all season.

The Titans have placed WR Julio Jones and WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine on the COVID list. We'll see whether either guy can make it back for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, but neither should be in your Week 17 fantasy football plans. Tennessee also placed EDGE Bud Dupree on the list Monday. We'll see whether any more Titans get added through the week.

After leaving Sunday's game against the Steelers with a hamstring and then missing practice Monday and Tuesday, Titans WR Julio Jones put in a full workout Wednesday and heads into Thursday's game with no injury status. He certainly doesn't make for a comfy play after the way his previous appearance unfolded, but Jones will at least be available for fantasy football lineups.

Titans WR Julio Jones is out for the rest of Sunday's game vs. the Steelers with a hamstring injury. Jones, of course, has battled hamstring trouble all year. He finishes this one catch-less on 1 target.

Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) is officially active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He’s certainly not the safest fantasy play in his first action since Week 9. But Jones also brings exciting upside with a chance to hog targets in today’s plus matchup.

2:27pm EST 12/11/21

Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) has been activated from IR, setting him up to play vs. the Jaguars on Sunday. Jones has been out since Week 9 and been bothered by hamstring trouble almost all season, so he carries plenty of risk in Week 14 fantasy lineups. But he also has a chance to dominate Titans targets with WR A.J. Brown out.

The Titans have designated WR Julio Jones to return from IR. That means he can practice with the team this week, though it doesn't necessarily mean he'll be back on the active roster for Sunday's game against Jacksonville. We'll watch to see whether Jones takes that final step in time for Week 14 fantasy lineups. Jones has been out since Week 9 with the latest iteration of his bothersome hamstring issue. When he does return, he'll find a Tennessee offense in desperate need of WR help. That should boost the veteran's target outlook.

The Titans have placed WR A.J. Brown on IR for his chest injury. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that it's not expected to end his season, so we should see him back at some point in December. But the earliest he can return is Week 16. Tennessee has its bye next week. That means Brown will -- at best -- make it back for the final 2 weeks of most fantasy leagues' seasons. If you play in a league with tight roster restrictions, Brown might be a drop candidate. Julio Jones will be eligible to come off IR after the bye. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Chester Rogers will lead the group this week, with Marcus Johnson out.

The Titans have placed WR Julio Jones on IR for the hamstring he injured in Friday's practice. That knocks him out for at least the next 3 games, starting with Sunday's matchup with New Orleans. His absence can only help the target outlook for A.J. Brown, who was already dominating on that ront. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Chester Rogers were the next 2 WRs in playing time last week against the Rams, with nearly identical snap totals. Marcus Johnson trailed behind them. We also might see more work for a TE group with Geoff Swaim and Anthony Firkser at the front. The hamstring has been a nagging issue for Jones through most of the season. We'll see if this IR stint can shake it and make him a factor by fantasy playoff time.

Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Saints. Jones started the week off the injury report. But he was added back and limited on Thursday before missing Friday’s practice. That has him looking unlikely to play on Sunday -- and very tough to trust in fantasy lineups if he does.

Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) was added back to the injury report and limited in practice on Thursday. ESPN's Turron Davenport saw Jones appear to tweak the hamstring on a route early in practice. Jones' availability for Sunday's game vs. the Saints is now uncertain. Check back tomorrow for another update.

Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) was limited in practice all week but isn’t listed on the final injury report. He confirmed on Friday that he’ll play vs. the Rams on Sunday night. Jones hasn’t topped a 66% snap share since Week 2. He’ll remain a risky fantasy option until we see him make it through a game healthy.

Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) remained limited in Thursday's practice. We'll see what he does tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report for Sunday night's game vs. the Rams.
