Joe Burrow Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow (finger) isn’t listed on the final injury report. He put in a limited practice on Thursday and was a full-go on Friday. He threw the ball well in practice according to the Cincinnati media in attendance. We’re not expecting Burrow’s injured pinky to be a problem in Sunday’s game vs. the 49ers.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow (finger, knee) put in a limited practice on Thursday. He reportedly looked just fine throwing without any protection on that injured pinky, according to the media in attendance for the start of practice. Burrow is fully expected to start Sunday's game vs. the 49ers.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow told reporters Wednesday that the pinky he injured in last week's loss to the Chargers is "feeling better." He added that he's dealing with a "little bit of swelling" and will be limited in Wednesday's practice. Burrow still expects to play vs. the 49ers on Sunday, but we'll keep a close eye on him over the next few days.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow dislocated his right pinky in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's loss to the Chargers. He was in obvious discomfort but was able to play through the issue. Burrow said after the game that he doesn't expect to miss time going forward, but it'll be a situation to monitor leading into Sunday's game vs. the 49ers.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow (throat) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’s good to go for Sunday’s plus matchup vs. the Lions.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow (throat) put in a full practice on Wednesday. It's confirmation that he'll be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Lions. Burrow is a low-end QB1 in that plus matchup.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow was released from the hospital on Sunday night after suffering a throat contusion in the overtime loss to the Packers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Burrow should be absolutely fine," Rapoport adds. We'll keep an eye on him this week, but expect Burrow under center for Sunday's plum matchup vs. the Lions.

Geoff Hobson of the team website reports that Bengals QB Joe Burrow went to the hospital after Sunday's OT loss to the Packers to be examined for a possible throat contusion. Burrow did make it through the whole game. We'll pass along any updates on the QB's condition.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins (shoulder) is listed as doubtful for this weekend’s game vs. the Steelers. HC Zac Taylor said Friday that he wants to wait to see how Higgins feels on Sunday before ruling him out -- but he’s obviously a long shot. Higgins’ absence would elevate WR Auden Tate to the #3 WR spot and free up a bunch of targets for WRs Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd.

After a rough start to training camp, Bengals QB Joe Burrow has "been stacking one quality practice on top of another over the past 10 days," Sports Illustrated's James Rapien writes. Burrow went 11 of 15 with 3 TDs in team drills on Monday, per Rapien, and also scrambled for a pair of 1st downs. That last note is especially encouraging for a guy returning from a serious knee injury. Burrow isn't going to play this preseason, so these practice reports are all we'll get before Week 1. He's probably not a guy you'll want to trust in that opener vs. the Vikings -- but Burrow could certainly be an every-week QB1 by October.

The Bengals offense has struggled early in training camp, according to The Athletic. QB Joe Burrow, in particular, has struggled with turnovers and accuracy. "It’s just not good right now," insiders Jay Morrison and Paul Dehner write. "Throws that felt like layups last year are dropping harmlessly away from receivers or easily broken up by multiple defenders." It's early August. And Burrow, of course, is returning from last year's multi-ligament injury. So we're not hitting the panic button yet. But this has certainly become a situation to monitor over the next month.

Before the 1st practice of Bengals training camp Wednesday, QB Joe Burrow said: “I’m just about 100 percent. Feeling great, still getting stronger in my legs. Going to continue to lift throughout camp, keep getting stronger, so I just feel great going into Week One.” Burrow also said that he wants to play in a preseason game, but we'll see what the team decides to do. We wouldn't be surprised if they deny the franchise QB that wish. Still, signs continue to look positive for the health of Burrow's knee heading into his 2nd season.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow (knee) will participate on day 1 of training camp. He’s avoided the PUP or NFI list, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. If his knee continues to cooperate, there’s no question Burrow could pay off his QB13 FFPC ADP. See where he sits in our 2021 QB rankings.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow expects his surgically repaired left knee to be back to 100% for the start of training camp. "The knee still has a little ways to go, but my upper body, my right leg, everything else feels better than it ever has before," Burrow said. "When I'm on the field and executing, I'm playing better than I ever have before. So I'll continue the program we were on and get back to 100% before camp." Burrow was able to get on the field for minicamp. And while we thought he still looked a bit hobbled, he was moving around and throwing with nice velocity. We'll continue to keep a close eye on his progress leading up to Week 1.

The forecast for today's Titans-Bengals game calls for winds of 20-30 mph. That's just past the threshold of when we start to worry about the passing and kicking games. We're lowering our projections for both passing games a tad and would avoid both kickers in this game. Note that the Bengals will be without all 5 of their starting offensive linemen from Week 1 today. Their implied total has sunk from 25.75 to 21.5.
