Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
The Dolphins have activated RB De'Von Achane (knee) from IR, making him available to play Sunday against the Raiders. We've been expecting Achane to be available this week, his first week of eligibility. You can find the rookie in RB1 territory of our Week 11 rankings. His return adds a challenge for RB Raheem Mostert's workload, but he still carries plenty of upside as well and belongs in your fantasy lineup in most cases.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Raiders. HC Mike McDaniel said Friday that he was optimistic about Achane’s availability for this one. We’ll see if the rookie is activated from IR ahead of the Saturday 4 pm ET deadline.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) will return for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders, according to insider Jordan Schultz. Achane remained limited in Thursday's practice. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow, but the rookie can be penciled back into Week 11 fantasy lineups for now.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He's eligible to return for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders, and The Miami Herald's Adam Beasley said Monday that there's "an excellent chance" he does. HC Mike McDaniel stopped short of guaranteeing that Achane will play on Sunday but sounded optimistic, calling the rookie "un-tackleable" in Monday's practice. "I feel good about where we're at," McDaniel added. We'll keep an eye on Achane over the next few days.
The Dolphins are opening the 21-day practice window for rookie RB De'Von Achane to return from IR. Achane missed the past four games with a knee sprain, but Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald says it "sounds like there's an excellent chance" the rookie plays this week. HC Mike McDaniel reportedly even indicated that Achane could have played through the issue with a brace on the affected knee. But the team decided that didn't fit the player's long-term interests. Achane, of course, has scored fantasy points at a ridiculous rate when on the field so far this year, leading all RBs in PPR points per game on just 11.75 touches per contest. He's likely bound for some regression on that, but should also remain a weekly fantasy starter. His combo of game-breaking speed and an offense designed to exploit that skill makes Achane a high-upside play across matchups. His return challenges RB Raheem Mostert's role a bit but hasn't altered Mostert's touch count to date. Mostert has averaged 13.4 touches across five full games without Achane; 14.0 per game in the three contests in which Achane played a significant role. (The rookie touched the ball only twice in his first game.) RBs Jeff Wilson Jr. and Salvon Ahmed, on the other hand, can be dropped in most redraft formats.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Monday that RB De'Von Achane (knee) has avoided setbacks and is on track to return when first eligible in Week 11. Achane, of course, was lighting the league on fire before going down, turning in three straight top-5 PPR finishes. We'll keep an eye on his status when Miami returns to work next week. But an active Achane will be impossible to leave out of starting fantasy lineups.
Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert tallied 85 rushing yards and 1 score in Week 9. His 13-yard cutback run in the third quarter put his season-long scoring tally at 13. Miami gave Mostert 12 carries in the narrow loss, good for a healthy 70.5% carry share. The Fins enters a Week 10 bye before facing Vegas the following week. Barring a setback, De’Von Achane should return for that one. Still, Mostert profiles as a top-15 RB going forward.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) is expected back when first eligible in Week 11. On IR, Achane is out for the next four games, and Miami has a Week 10 bye. The rookie is worth keeping stashed in all fantasy leagues.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel called RB De'Von Achane's knee injury a sprain but wouldn't give any additional details on Wednesday. McDaniel did say that placing Achane on IR "wasn't a black-and-white decision," which would seem to suggest that Miami doesn't expect the rookie to miss more than the four games required for players on IR. We'll look for more information on Achane's timeline for return, but he's worth keeping stashed on fantasy benches right now.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) has been placed on IR. He'll miss the next four games vs. Carolina, Philadelphia, New England, and Kansas City. Miami then has a Week 10 bye, so Week 11 is the earliest we'll see Achane again. We're still waiting for details on his knee injury and whether he'll be ready come Week 11. Considering how awesome Achane was over the last three weeks, he's worth keeping stashed in all fantasy leagues.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with the knee injury he suffered against the Giants, according to multiple reports. The rookie is a candidate for IR, though the team reportedly hasn't decided on that yet. We'll watch for more specifics on that front. ESPN's Adam Schefter adds that Miami is expected to get RB Jeff Wilson Jr. back at practice this week. He has been on IR with hand and rib injuries. Wilson's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has long said his client would return to the field when eligible. That window opened in Week 5.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Monday they hadn't decided yet whether to open the 21-day practice window this week for RB Jeff Wilson Jr., according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. A separate report had agent Drew Rosenhaus saying Wilson would be activated from IR (hand, ribs) this week. We'll see what Miami decides.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday that RB De'Von Achane is being evaluated for a knee injury, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. We'll certainly be waiting for more details on this situation -- and passing them along as soon as they're available. Miami RB Jeff Wilson Jr. is eligible to come off IR at any time and is expected to start practicing this week.
Dolphins RB De’Von Achane broke off another long run in Sunday’s win over the Giants. Achane's 76-yard score showcased the latest example of his speed and acceleration to the edge. He matched Raheem Mostert in opportunities (12), while both backs fumbled. (Achane’s was lost.) In his current form, Achane will remain a must-start going forward. Next up is a cupcake matchup vs. Carolina.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane scored twice in a Week 4 loss to Buffalo. In fact, Achane scored on his first two carries. He added 5 targets, tied for second-most and a 14.2% team share. On the ground, he led the way with 7 attempts – one more than Raheem Mostert. The takeaway here is that Achane continues to be used creatively, and it’s clear his speed will be a weekly part of the game plan. Fire him up as an RB2 for Sunday’s matchup vs. the Giants.
Dolphins RB Salvon Ahmed (groin) is active for today’s game vs. the Bills. He figures to be the No. 3 RB behind Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane.
Dolphins RB De'Von Achane "has earned an increased workload," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. A 233-yard, four-TD performance should certainly earn a bigger role. Schefter adds that Miami "is expected to try to use him more" vs. the Bills today. We'll see exactly what the split between Achane and RB Raheem Mostert looks like, but the rookie would be tough to leave out of fantasy lineups after the huge Week 3.
