Craig Reynolds Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Lions RB Craig Reynolds (ribs) has been placed on IR. Justin Jackson will step in as Detroit's #3 RB but is only worth stashing in deep fantasy leagues.

Lions RB Craig Reynolds has been ruled out of Sunday's game vs. the Packers with a rib injury. That leaves Justin Jackson as Detroit's #3 RB behind D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams.

With D'Andre Swift out once again, Lions RB Jamaal Williams led the team in carries (15) and rushing yards (79, 5.3 per carry). Craig Reynolds led Detroit RBs in receiving, catching all 3 of his targets for 18 yards. Williams got just 1 target, catching it for 4 yards.

Lions RB Jamaal Williams once again easily led the team in rushing in Sunday's loss to the Patriots, taking 15 carries for 56 yards. Craig Reynolds and Justin Jackson combined for another 9 carries. Reynolds gained 24 yards on 6 rushes while also leading the backfield in routes (17) and targets (3). Jackson garnered 3 carries and 1 target, while also running 1 more route than Williams. Detroit now gets a Week 6 bye, and then RB D'Andre Swift is expected to be ready to return. Expect Williams to remain a rushing factor beyond Swift's return. But he doesn't look like a great bet to own the receiving work if Swift goes down again.

With D'Andre Swift out, Lions RB Jamaal Williams took over the backfield and racked up a 19-108-2 rushing line in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. Williams added 1 catch for just 1 yard among 3 targets. Craig Reynolds and Justin Jackson handled just 2 carries apiece. Jackson caught 2 passes -- including a 2-yard TD -- among 2 targets. Reynolds added 1 catch as well. Detroit hasn't confirmed that Swift will miss further game time, but he seems likely to remain out through Week 5.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. It sounds like Detroit plans to hold him out through the Week 6 bye. Jamaal Williams will operate as Detroit's clear lead back this weekend, with Craig Reynolds as the #2 RB.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift got just 7 touches in Sunday's game, after arriving questionable with an ankle issue. Fortunately -- for those who started him -- Swift used a 50-yard scamper to run up 56 ground yards on just 5 carries. He added a 22-yard TD off a screen pass, 1 of just 2 receptions (for 31 yards) among 5 targets. Swift played just 10 more snaps than Jamaal Williams, according to Pro Football Focus, a smaller gap than Week 1. Williams led the team with 12 carries. RB Craig Reynolds also played 9 snaps after seeing no Week 1 action. We'll see about the status of Swift's ankle for Week 3.

11:31am EST 12/26/21

Lions RB D’Andre Swift (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Falcons. He returned to limited practices this week and might be back for Week 17. Jamaal Williams and Craig Reynolds should handle most of Detroit’s backfield work today.

Lions RB D’Andre Swift (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. He got in 3 limited practices this week and seems to be trending toward playing. We’ll find out for sure around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. RB Jamaal Williams was activated from the COVID list on Monday, and RB Craig Reynolds has been good over the past 2 weeks. But Swift figures to lead this backfield if he suits up vs. Atlanta.

Lions HC Dan Campbell said Monday that RB D'Andre Swift will return to practice this week, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. He has missed the past 3 games with a shoulder injury initially suffered on Thanksgiving. We'll see whether Swift can make it all the way back to game action. His potential return, of course, would stop Craig Reynolds from being a fantasy option.

Lions RB Jamaal Williams has been activated from the COVID list, putting him on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Falcons. RB Craig Reynolds impressed in Williams' absence the past 2 weeks, so it's unclear what this backfield will look like the rest of the way. We'll look for clues leading up to Sunday's game.

Lions RB Jamaal Williams was not activated from the COVID list and is out for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. That again leaves Detroit’s backfield to Craig Reynolds, Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson. Reynolds led the way with 11 carries and 2 targets last week, but HC Dan Campbell hinted that Jefferson could have a bigger role today. Reynolds is the best fantasy bet, but you should try to avoid this backfield.

Lions RB D’Andre Swift (shoulder) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Cardinals. He remained sidelined in practice all week and has no timetable for return. RB Jamaal Williams remains on the COVID list as of Friday afternoon, so we might get another game with Craig Reynolds as Detroit’s lead back.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (shoulder) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. He's looking unlikely to return for this weekend's game vs. Arizona. We'll see if RB Jamaal Williams makes it off the COVID list for that one. If not, Craig Reynolds would be the favorite for touches in Detroit's backfield.
