Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
The league is suspending Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair for three games following his hit to Trevor Lawrence's head in Sunday's game. The ban results not just from that hit but "repeat violations of the NFL's health and safety rules," according to the letter announcing the suspension.
Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair got ejected in the first half of Sunday's game against the Jaguars after he hit a sliding Trevor Lawrence in the head. We'll see whether hit costs Al-Shaair further time via league suspension.
Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair left Sunday's win over the Patriots with a knee injury. HC Demeco Ryans said afterward that Al-Shaair tried to return but couldn't and that he's "getting evaluated." That means both LB starters are dealing with injuries this week. (Henry To'oTo'o has a concussion.) And LB Christian Harris has yet to come off IR for his calf injury. Neville Hewitt filled in for Al-Shaair against New England and would start in his place if he can't go. Jake Hansen looks like the next man up if To'oTo'o is out and Harris isn't ready. We'll watch for updates on the whole crew this week.
Niners LB Dre Greenlaw left Sunday's loss to the Chiefs with a right-calf injury and did not return. If he misses further time, the snaps would likely go to Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles. He stepped in for 56% playing time against K.C. LB Azeez Al-Shaair is already on IR with an MCL sprain that's expected to sideline him beyond Week 10.
Niners LB Dre Greenlaw missed Wednesday's practice with an elbow injury. If he can't go Sunday against the Seahawks, then LB Azeez Al-Shaair would likely pick up starter-level snaps.
Niners LBs Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) and Marcell Harris (Achilles') are inactive for today's game against the Rams. S Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) and LB Dre Greenlaw (groin) are active after arriving questionable.
Niners LB Azeez Al-Shaair is active for tonight's game against the Titans. Use him as planned, which is LB3 territory in our Week 16 IDP rankings.
Niners LB Azeez Al-Shaair is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Titans with the elbow injury that kept him our of Sunday's game. He put in limited practices all 3 days this week. We'll see about his status Thursday evening.
Niners LB Azeez Al-Shaair is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Falcons with the elbow injury he suffered last week. Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles is the next guy up behind him, but Marcell Harris figures to be the #2 LB in playing time Sunday behind Fred Warner.
Niners LB Azeez Al-Shaair left Sunday's win over the Bengals with an elbow injury. He'll have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the damage, according to multiple reports.
ESPN reports that the 49ers expect LB Fred Warner to miss 1-2 weeks with the hamstring strain he suffered in Sunday's win over the Vikings. Fellow LB Dre Greenlaw is day-to-day, Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News reports. That leaves Azeez Al-Shaair as the best bet to lead San Francisco LBs in playing time for the Week 13 clash with Seattle.
Niners LB Dre Greenlaw needs surgery for the groin injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Lions. ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports that Greenlaw is expected to "be out into November before being reassessed." Although the 49ers hope to get him back this season, that timeline means you can go ahead and drop Greenlaw in nearly all IDP redraft leagues. Azeez Al-Shaair will fill in as the #2 LB alongside Fred Warner. Al-Shaair tallied 7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 2 passes defensed in Week 1.
Niners LB Dre Greenlaw left Sunday's win over the Lions just before halftime with a groin injury and did not return. Azeez Al-Shaair got a playing-time boost, spending 78% of the snaps on the field in all. He'd be in play for deeper IDP leagues should Greenlaw miss further time. We'll keep an eye out this work for more details on the injury.
