The league is suspending Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair for three games following his hit to Trevor Lawrence's head in Sunday's game. The ban results not just from that hit but "repeat violations of the NFL's health and safety rules," according to the letter announcing the suspension.
Houston gets a Week 14 bye, which gives time for a potential appeal. If Al-Shaair's suspension holds up, he'll be out until Week 18.
His departure from the Jacksonville game left Henry To'oTo'o (97%) and Neville Hewitt (70%) as the Texans' top two LBs.
Barring a return by Christian Harris from his season-long calf injury for Week 15, expect that pair to lead the Houston LBs while Al-Shaair is out.
Hewitt averaged 7.7 total tackles across three starts in Al-Shaair's place earlier this season, when the starter was out with a knee injury.
