Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
The Seahawks are hiring Klint Kubiak as their OC, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. It'll be Kubiak's third OC gig, following stints with the Vikings (2021) and Saints (2024). That Vikings squad finished 12th in total yards and 14th in points. The 2024 Saints got off to a hot start, scoring 91 points over the first two games of the season. But they averaged just 16.5 points per game the rest of the way, due at least in part to injuries to QB Derek Carr and the offensive line. Kubiak's Saints ranked 19th in neutral pass rate and 25th in pass rate over expected. The 2021 Vikings -- quarterbacked by Kirk Cousins -- finished 12th in neutral pass rate and 17th in pass rate over expected. The 2025 Seahawks figure to be a more balanced offense than last year's version, which ranked third in neutral pass rate and sixth in pass rate over expected.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday. He's been on the injury report with a shoulder since Week 13 but hasn't missed a game. We're expecting Metcalf to be fine for Sunday's game vs. the Vikings but will keep an eye on him over the next few days.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (shoulder) is not listed on the final Week 14 injury report. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice and should be ready for a full slate of snaps against the Cardinals this weekend.
After being limited on Wednesday, Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (shoulder) did not practice on Thursday. He was on last week's injury report with a shoulder before playing his usual role in the win over the Jets, so we're expecting Metcalf to be fine for Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals. But we'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Seahawks WRs D.K. Metcalf (shoulder) and Tyler Lockett (knee) were removed from the final Week 13 injury report. Both guys were sidelined on Wednesday and Thursday but returned to full practices on Friday. At this point, there’s no reason to believe that they won’t be ready for their usual roles vs. the Jets on Sunday. We’ll let you know if that changes.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (knee) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’s ready for a full workload vs. the 49ers on Sunday. Metcalf checks in 14th in the Week 11 WR Rankings.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler writes that Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (knee) is "hopeful" to play vs. the Bills this weekend. "The feeling is the injury won't result in an extended absence for Metcalf," Fowler adds. It sounds like Metcalf should at least be back by Week 9, although it's still worth noting that Seattle has a Week 10 bye. We'll track Metcalf's status throughout the rest of this week.
Seahawks WR DK Metcalf suffered a knee injury late in the game against the Falcons yesterday and was carted off the field. Despite being carted off, his knee injury is not considered serious. More testing will be done today to understand the full extent.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Falcons with a knee injury. Metcalf has remained on the sidelines, so this doesn't look like a serious injury. We'll update his status when we know more.
Update: Metcalf wound up getting carted back to the locker room.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (back) is questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Steelers. He wasn’t on the injury report on Wednesday but then missed the final two practices of the week. HC Pete Carroll said Friday that he expects Metcalf to play, but we’ll look for further updates on his status. We won’t get Seattle’s inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET on Sunday.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf was added to the injury report and did not practice on Thursday with a back issue. We'll look for more details on his status and check to see how he's listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game vs. the Steelers.
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports that Seahawks QB Geno Smith aggravated his groin injury and now has an "uphill battle" to play vs. the Eagles on Monday night. It sounds like we should expect QB Drew Lock to start that one. We're updating Seattle projections now.
Seahawks QB Geno Smith (groin) won't play vs. the 49ers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Smith suffered what ESPN's Adam Schefter termed a two-week groin injury in Thursday's practice. We'll see if Smith can make it back for next Monday night's game vs. the Eagles. QB Drew Lock starts today for the first time since 2021. He's a significant downgrade from Smith for Seattle's pass catchers.
Update: Smith is officially INACTIVE.
The Seahawks are not expected to decide on QB Geno Smith's status for today's game vs. the 49ers until pregame warmups, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Smith suffered what's considered a two-week groin injury in Thursday's practice, per Schefter. "The Seahawks sounded guarded and uncertain Saturday night after they arrived in San Francisco," Schefter writes. "As tough as Smith is, they know there's a real possibility they could be without him Sunday." NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has a similar report, saying Smith's status is "up in the air" and that QB Drew Lock is "preparing to start." We won't get Seattle's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET for this 4:05 kickoff. At this point, we're working under the assumption that it'll be Lock at QB today. That's bad news for the Seahawks skill-position players, particularly the WRs.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (toe) is not listed on the final Week 12 injury report. He missed Tuesday's practice but was a full-go on Wednesday. There's no reason to believe that the toe will be a significant factor in Thursday night's game vs. the 49ers.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf missed Tuesday's practice and is on the injury report with a toe. He's dealt with hip and rib injuries this season, but the toe is new. We'll see if Metcalf practices on Wednesday and how he's listed on the final injury report for Thursday night's game vs. the 49ers.
Seahawks WRs D.K. Metcalf (hip) and Tyler Lockett (hamstring) are off the final Week 9 injury report. Both guys were full participants in Friday’s practice and should be ready for their usual roles in this weekend’s game vs. the Ravens.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (hip) did not practice on Thursday. That follows a full practice on Wednesday. It's unclear if Metcalf just got the day or suffered a setback. Check back tomorrow to see how Metcalf is listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Ravens.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (ribs, hip) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final Week 8 injury report. It looks like he’s ready to step back into his usual role vs. the Browns on Sunday.
Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (ribs, hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, and HC Pete Carroll labeled him a game-time decision. Metcalf has been playing through the rib injury, so it's likely the hip injury he suffered last week that has him uncertain. It's worth noting that Metcalf did return to last week's game after hurting his hip. We'll look for further updates on his status, but we won't get Seattle's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET on Sunday.
