Dynasty Analysis

Strange filled in for Evan Engram and flashed some potential in 2024, including an 11 catch game in Week 15. 2025 turns up a starting role after Evan Engram signed with Denver in free agency. Recall that Jacksonville spent a Round 2 pick on Strange in 2023.

Brenton Strange Player Comp

Geoff Swaim

Strange is an athletic blocking TE like Swaim was, though Strange has a bit more pass catching upside. Lack of production, but still has NFL receiving upside.

Jaguars Dump Reception Leader Evan Engram

Jaguars Dump Reception Leader Evan Engram

The Jaguars have released TE Evan Engram. That removes the player who caught 66 more passes than any other Jaguar since the start of 2022. Dumping Engram will save Jacksonville nearly $6 million in cap space, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He'll turn 31 just before the start of the 2025 season.

Jaguars HC Doug Pederson announced Friday that TE Evan Engram will have season-ending surgery to fix a torn shoulder labrum. That should mean Brenton Strange leads Jacksonville TE opportunities over the final four games.

Jaguars TE Evan Engram (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Colts. He got in three limited practices this week, so he should be back for Week 6. TE Brenton Strange gets another start today but would be a desperation fantasy play. He's averaged 4.7 targets, 2.7 catches, and 32 yards over the past three games.

Jaguars TE Evan Engram (hamstring) is "not tracking to play" vs. the Colts tomorrow, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Engram put in three limited practices this week but evidently isn't ready for game action yet. Barring a setback, he should play vs. the Bears next week. His absence keeps TE Brenton Strange in the lead role for another week. He's averaged 4.7 targets, 2.7 catches, and 32 yards over the past three games.

Jaguars TE Evan Engram (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. He remained sidelined in practice all week, although HC Doug Pederson said Friday that Engram should have a good chance to return for Week 5. His absence this weekend again leaves Brenton Strange as Jacksonville’s lead TE. He’s tallied 3-65-0 and 2-12-1 lines the past two weeks.
