Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Vikings RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Lions. The hamstring adds some risk to his fantasy profile, and the matchup is tough against the league’s second-ranked RB defense. But Jones still sits 12th in the Week 7 RB Rankings, thanks largely to his strong pass-catching role.
Titans QB Will Levis (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bills. He might miss multiple games with a Grade 2 sprain of the AC joint in his right shoulder. QB Mason Rudolph gets the start today but isn’t a recommended fantasy play in any format. Hopefully he can at least be a slight upgrade over Levis for WRs DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley.
Seahawks RB Ken Walker (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the Falcons. He was added to the injury report on Saturday, but we’ve heard nothing about his workload being limited today. Walker remains a must start.
Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. We wouldn’t use him in fantasy lineups coming off the shoulder injury, but Wicks’ presence makes WR Christian Watson a riskier start. Wicks was playing ahead of Watson early in last week’s game, before hurting his shoulder.
The Jets and Edge Haason Reddick have worked out an adjusted contract for the rest of 2024, and he'll report to the team Monday morning. That will finally end a holdout that has been going since the Eagles traded Reddick at the beginning of April.
Browns RB Nick Chubb is expected to get a "decent workload" in his return today vs. the Bengals, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The Browns have reportedly been impressed by Chubb's play since he got back on the field, but Garafolo notes that Chubb has only been taking contact for three weeks. "His workload is gonna be determined by how the game goes, how he looks," Garafolo adds. It sounds like the Browns don't even know how much work Chubb will be ready to handle in his first game in well over a year. That obviously makes him a risky fantasy bet, but managers in a bind can consider a flier on Chubb in today's plus matchup.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo says Bills WR Amari Cooper "will rotate in with all the other WRs" vs. the Titans today. "So expect to see plenty of Cooper today," Garafolo adds. "Will it be as high of volume as he usually gets? Probably not." This is what we've been expecting in Cooper's Bills debut. He'd be a risky Week 7 fantasy start, especially against Tennessee's second-ranked WR defense.
Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars in London. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, so we’re not expecting the foot to be a major issue. Stevenson is fine to get into Week 7 fantasy lineups as a fringe RB2. Jacksonville ranks 30th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Patriots. His absence leaves the backfield to Tank Bigsby and D’Ernest Johnson. Bigsby should control early-down work but will lose passing-down snaps to Johnson. It leaves Bigsby as a risk/reward RB2 in an excellent spot with the Jags 6.5-point favorites against New England’s 22nd-ranked RB defense.
ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Rams WR Cooper Kupp (hamstring) "unlikely" to play vs. the Raiders today. "Rams still want to work out Kupp pre-game before making any decision about him," Schefter adds. We'll look for additional updates on Kupp, but he should be on fantasy benches for now. We won't get the Rams' inactives until a little before 3 pm ET. Schefter also confirms that WR Jordan Whittington (shoulder) is expected to play. He'll join Tutu Atwell and Demarcus Robinson as the Rams' top three WRs if Kupp is out.
Vikings RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Lions today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Jones got in just two limited practices this week and is listed as questionable. He also draws Detroit's second-ranked RB defense, so he's not as strong a fantasy play as usual. Still, Jones checks in 12th in the Week 7 RB Rankings.
ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the 49ers this afternoon. Smith-Schuster was added to Thursday's injury report with what HC Andy Reid called hamstring spasms. But he was able to get back on the practice field on Friday. JuJu is safe to keep in Week 7 fantasy lineups.
Colts WRs Josh Downs (toe), Michael Pittman (back), and Alec Pierce (shoulder) are all expected to play vs. the Dolphins today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. All three guys are listed as questionable. With Anthony Richardson back under center, no Colt WR sits inside the top 40 of the Week 7 WR Rankings.
Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle, ribs, hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Commanders today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Johnson has been playing through the ankle issue for the past couple of weeks, but the ribs and hamstring were added to the injury report on Friday. He carries elevated risk in Week 7 fantasy lineups, but he'd be very difficult to bench in this matchup against Washington's 23rd-ranked WR defense.
Commanders RB Brian Robinson (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Panthers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Robinson is listed as questionable after a limited week of practice, so he won't be at 100% today. But the matchup against Carolina's 32nd-ranked RB defense gives Robinson plenty of fantasy appeal.
Titans QB Will Levis is dealing with a Grade 2 AC sprain in his right shoulder, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "This is considered a 4-to-5 week injury, and Levis has played through injuries in the past, but this one will be a week-to-week situation," Schefter adds. Levis will miss Sunday's game vs. the Bills, and it sounds like he could miss more time beyond that. He's not worth hanging on to in any redraft leagues. QB Mason Rudolph is set to take over for Levis but is unlikely to be a significant upgrade for the offense. He's averaged 6.7 yards per attempt across 475 career passes.
The Patriots are expecting RB Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) to play vs. the Jaguars on Sunday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Stevenson is listed as questionable but was a full-go in Friday's practice. Assuming he plays, Stevenson should step back into the lead role in New England's backfield. He sits 22nd in our Week 7 RB Rankings, boosted by the matchup against Jacksonville's 30th-ranked RB defense.
Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game vs. the Lions. He was never likely to play in this one off just four limited practices. We'll see if Hockenson is ready to make his 2024 debut against the Rams on Thursday night, but Week 9 might be a more realistic target.
Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (ankle) did not practice all week and is doubtful for Monday night's game vs. the Cardinals. WR Ladd McConkey (hip) is listed as questionable after a limited week of practice. WRs D.J. Chark (groin), Derius Davis (hamstring), and Simi Fehoko (shoulder, groin) are also officially questionable. Josh Palmer and Brendan Rice are the only healthy WRs on the active roster. We'll see if the Chargers make a promotion from the practice squad ahead of kickoff. McConkey has been the only fantasy-viable WR here for most of the season. If you were hoping to start him this week, make sure you have a backup plan from the Chargers, Cardinals, Bucs, or Ravens rostered in case the rookie ends up inactive on Monday night.
Multiple reports say the Titans are expected to start QB Mason Rudolph on Sunday against the Bills. QB Will Levis is officially questionable with the shoulder injury he suffered back in Week 4. He played through it in Week 6 but went limited in practice Wednesday and Friday this week. (Levis practiced in full all three days in Week 6.) The QB switch doesn't change our projections for Titans pass catchers, but we'll see if Rudolph generates more upside.
