Washington Commanders Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Washington WR Terry McLaurin (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. He has a lot of work to do if he wants to clear the concussion protocol before Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. At this point, fantasy owners should not be counting on McLaurin in Week 15 lineups.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (ankle) put in a limited practice on Tuesday. HC Brandon Staley hasn't seem concerned about Ekeler's injury since his post-game press conference on Sunday, and it looks like Ekeler is on track to play vs. the Chiefs on Thursday night. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Chargers HC Brandon Staley called RB Austin Ekeler's ankle injury "nothing major" on Monday. Ekeler was listed as a non-participant on the Chargers' estimated Monday injury report, but Staley said that he expects Ekeler to practice this week. It sounds like we should expect him to play vs. the Chiefs on Thursday night, but check back tomorrow for another update.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler injured his left ankle in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Giants. He got it taped and was testing it on the sidelines. We'll see if Ekeler is able to re-enter, but the Chargers are up 30 to 7.

Update: Ekeler is officially questionable to return with an ankle injury.

Washington WR Terry McLaurin has been ruled out of Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys with a concussion. It's his 2nd documented concussion. We'll track his progress through the protocol this coming week.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He only got in a limited practice on Friday after missing last week’s game, so he obviously comes with elevated risk in fantasy lineups. But we also haven’t heard anything about Samuel being limited today. There’s still WR1 upside here.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) "will play" vs. the Bengals this afternoon, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Schefter notably went with "will play," rather than "expected to play," so we feel confident that Samuel will be active later this afternoon. He still carries added risk after getting in just a limited practice on Friday with the groin injury. But Samuel would be tough to keep on fantasy benches considering how productive he's been all season.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals. He returned to a limited practice on Friday after missing the first 2 workouts of the week. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said Friday night that Samuel has “a chance” to play on Sunday. Stay tuned to Shark Bites for further updates.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) remained sidelined on Thursday. He's looking like a long shot to play vs. the Bengals this weekend, but we'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) did not practice on Wednesday. He did some running off to the side, according to insider Matt Barrows. But Samuel is still iffy for this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Washington HC Ron Rivera said Monday that he expects DE Montez Sweat (broken jaw) and S Landon Collins (foot) to be cleared to return to practice this week. Sweat has missed the past 4 games with his injury. Collins missed Sunday's win over the Raiders with an injury he suffered late in the previous week's win over Seattle. We'll keep an eye on the statuses of both players through the week, but it seems they'll be back in play for IDP consideration for Sunday's upside matchup with Dallas.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. He's expected to miss 1-2 weeks, so we'll see if he can make it back for next weekend's game in Cincinnati. WR Brandon Aiyuk and TE George Kittle should dominate Niners targets with Samuel out.

HC Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers expect WR Deebo Samuel to miss 1-2 weeks with the groin strain he suffered in Sunday's win over the vikings, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That leaves Brandon Aiyuk to lead the WR corps for the next game or 2, with Jauan Jennings and Trent Sherfield likely to each see more time. Samuel's absence can only help George Kittle's target outlook as well.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel is expected to miss "a little time" with the groin injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Vikings, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. But "it’s not considered a major injury," Rapoport adds. We'll look for more details on the situation, but it sounds like fantasy owners should at least plan on being without Deebo in Week 13.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel injured his groin in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. He's officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (calf) is active for today’s game vs. the Falcons. Consider him a risk/reward WR4 in his first action since Week 1.

The Cowboys are activating WR Michael Gallup from IR, making him eligible to play Sunday against the Falcons, according to . It'll be his 1st game action since straining a calf in Week 1. Gallup will be a risky fantasy prospect in his 1st game back, but his return can only help QB Dak Prescott in what already looked like a prime rebound spot.

3:00pm UTC 11/7/21

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (calf) is active for today’s game against the Cardinals. He was listed as questionable after getting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported this morning that the ‘Niners are “uncertain how long” Samuel will be able to play through the calf issue. Consider him a risk/reward WR2 in Week 9 fantasy lineups.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (calf) was not activated from IR on Saturday and won't play against the Broncos on Sunday. He's been back at practice for a couple of weeks now, so we're guessing he'll return for Week 10. Cedrick Wilson gets at least 1 more game as Dallas' #3 WR.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals after getting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Samuel played through the calf injury last week, but HC Kyle Shanahan said Friday that it’s worse now. Samuel is expected to play on Sunday, but he’ll carry elevated risk in fantasy lineups.
