Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Titans WR Treylon Burks is in concussion protocol, HC Mike Vrabel said Friday. Vrabel added that Burks will be at the team's facility on Friday. It sounds like he avoided any significant injury beyond the concussion -- excellent news after he was taken off the field on a stretcher on Thursday night. We'll keep an eye on Burks' recovery, but he remains off the redraft radar for now.
After tossing four TDs in his debut last week, Titans QB Will Levis finished without a score in Thursday night's loss to the Steelers. He went 22 of 39 (56.4%) for 262 yards (6.7 YPA) and a game-ending INT in the end zone with just a few seconds left. Levis' A+ arm talent was on display throughout the night. But it's tough for the rookie in a run-leaning offense behind a bad offensive line with a thin pass-catching corps. Dynasty owners should be encouraged by how Levis has played these last two games. But we don't expect him to ascend beyond QB2 status the rest of this season.
Titans WR Treylon Burks was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Steelers. The back of his head slammed against the ground after he tried to make a catch on a deep ball. Burks was able to give a thumbs-up as he left the field. We'll update his status when we know more.
Update: Burks has full movement in all of his extremities, according to Amazon Prime's Kaylee Hartung.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. It's an upgrade over last week, when he didn't practice at all on Thursday. Lockett should be ready for his usual role in this weekend's game vs. the Ravens.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. He didn't practice last Wednesday or Thursday before returning to a full practice on Friday and then posting an 8-81-1 line in the win over the Browns. Lockett should be fine for this weekend's game against Baltimore.
The Titans are expected to start QB Will Levis on Thursday night against the Steelers, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. QB Ryan Tannehill reportedly needs more time to work past his high-ankle sprain. And Levis, of course, just finished throwing 4 TD passes in his NFL debut. So this report comes as no surprise. Check back Tuesday afternoon to see where Levis lands in our Week 9 QB rankings.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett caught 8 of 11 targets for a team-leading 81 yards and a TD in Week 8’s victory over the Browns. His teammate D.K. Metcalf was not nearly as efficient on his looks, logging just 5 catches on 14 targets for 67 yards. Rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba, however, made good use of his opportunities by catching 3 passes for 36 yards and a score in the contest. This trio of WRs combined for 75% of the Seahawks’ targets. It’s pretty clear who QB Geno Smith will look for in Week 9 vs. the Ravens.
In his first career NFL start, Titans QB Will Levis completed 19 of 29 passes for 238 yards with 4 TDs vs. the Falcons. The rookie split some reps with teammate Malik Willis, though his contributions came largely on the ground. Week 8 was essentially The Levis Show, and he shined through his rapport with WR DeAndre Hopkins, the recipient of 3 of the 4 scores thrown in the contest. Though it may be tough to trust Levis on a short week against the Steelers this coming Thursday, managers in 2QB or superflex leagues should make the first-year signal-caller a priority add off the waiver wire if he’s still available.
Jaguars WR Calvin Ridley made 6 receptions for 83 yards among 10 targets in Sunday's win over the Steelers. He tied TE Evan Engram for the team lead in targets while tallying his third-most catches and yards of the season. Ridley gets a Week 9 bye and then a pair of matchups (San Francisco and Tennessee) that favor passing. WR Christian Kirk was limited to a 4-46 receiving line on 5 targets in Sunday's win.
Cowboys RB Tony Pollard stayed quiet in Week 8, posting 53 rushing yards on 12 attempts. He added 1 catch for 2 yards. Dallas won in a blowout, but it’s concerning to see Pollard’s target count drop to one (2.9%). Prior to Sunday, Pollard caught 3+ balls in five straight. Dallas simply leaned on CeeDee Lamb in this one, leading to a massive 12-158-2 line. Pollard will look to rebound next week against a strong Eagles run D.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Browns. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice and should be ready to play his usual role today.
The Panthers will have S Xavier Woods (hamstring) back in the lineup for today's game against the Texans. It'll be his first game action since Week 3.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Browns later today. Lockett is listed as questionable but was a full participant in Friday's practice. We're expecting him to play his usual role today.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler confirms that Titans QB Will Levis is expected to start and get the majority of the snaps vs. the Falcons on Sunday. "But [QB Malik] Willis will have packages and heavy involvement in the game plan," Fowler adds. "Could end up being roughly 75-25 as far as play time." We don't envision this going well for Tennessee. You should obviously avoid Titans QBs in all fantasy formats.
The Commanders have ruled LB Cody Barton out for Sunday's game against the Eagles. It's the move we've been expecting after Barton left last week's game with a walking boot on his sprained ankle. Expect a full-time role for Jamin Davis and LB2 duty for David Mayo.
The Seahawks list WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Browns. He didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday but was a full participant on Friday. HC Pete Carroll confirmed on Friday that Lockett will play vs. Cleveland. The hamstring issue adds a bit of risk, but we’re expecting Lockett in a full-time role on Sunday.
Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. Burks is not a recommended Week 8 fantasy play with QB Will Levis expected to make his first career start.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) missed his second straight practice on Thursday. He played through this injury last week, but Lockett's availability for Sunday's game vs. the Browns can't be taken for granted. Check back tomorrow for another update.
Commanders LB Cody Bardon (ankle) sat out Wednesday's practice. He came away from Sunday's loss to the Giants with a walking boot on the ankle he sprained early in the game. We're betting Barton will miss Week 8 but will keep an eye on his status throughout the week. LB Jamin Davis will likely get full playing time if Barton sits, with David Mayo the next LB up.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. He only got in two limited practices last week before playing vs. the Cardinals. He should be fine for Sunday's game vs. the Browns, but we'll update Lockett's status again tomorrow.
