Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Steelers RB Najee Harris rushed 19 times for 114 yards in Monday's win over the Giants. He caught 3 of 4 targets for 17 yards, a stat line that includes one drop.
The Steelers have placed WR Roman Wilson on IR for his hamstring injury. The rookie sustained the injury in the practice week leading up to the Week 7 win over the Jets. Wilson missed that game and has played just 5 snaps all year. He previously dealt with an ankle injury suffered before the season.
Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Monday night's game vs. the Giants. He put in three limited practices this week but will now aim for a return after a Week 9 bye. RBs Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren will continue to handle backfield touches for Pittsburgh on Monday night.
Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) got in a limited practice on Thursday. That gives him a chance to return for Monday night's game vs. the Giants. Patterson isn't a fantasy option, but he'd likely steal a few touches from RBs Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren.
Steelers WR George Pickens recorded catches of 44 and 37 yards against an injury-riddled Jets secondary. In total, Pickens led the team in targets (9), catches (5) and yards (111) while scoring his first TD of 2024.
Steelers RB Najee Harris rushed 21 times for 102 yards and 1 TD in a Week 7 win over the Jets. He’s now posted two straight games over 100 rushing yards for just the second time in his career.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Steelers QB Russell Wilson will start Sunday night's game vs. the Jets. But he adds that QB Justin Fields is also likely to get snaps. "Expect both QBs to play, but Wilson is expected to play the bulk of snaps," Rapoport tweeted. We'd expect Fields' snaps to mostly come in short-yardage and goal-line situations. This is a spot to completely avoid in Week 7 fantasy lineups.
Steelers RB Najee Harris (ribs) returned to a full practice on Thursday. He'll be ready for his usual role in Sunday night's game against the Jets.
Steelers RB Najee Harris (ribs) did not practice on Wednesday. He's coming off a 14-carry, 106-yard outing vs. the Raiders, and we're guessing this was more of a rest day than a legitimate injury. We'll see if Harris gets back on the practice field tomorrow, ahead of Sunday night's game vs. the Jets.
Steelers QB Russell Wilson is receiving the first-team reps at practice this week, putting him in line to start Sunday night's game vs. the Jets. Justin Fields has been the QB for the first six weeks and helped Pittsburgh to a 4-2 record, but Wilson will now get his shot.
Steelers QB Justin Fields managed only 145 passing yards in Sunday's blowout win over Las Vegas. But he delivered for fantasy managers with 59 yards and 2 TDs on the ground.
Steelers RB Jaylen Warren was upgraded today and now has no injury designation for Week 6 against the Raiders. Warren has dealt with hamstring and knee injuries during the offseason and season so far. He could see a prominent role in the Steelers' run game with Najee Harris being ineffective so far this year.
Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth (calf) is not listed on the final injury report for this weekend’s game vs. the Raiders. He was added to the injury report on Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday, so the calf shouldn’t be an issue. Freiermuth has finished as a top-15 fantasy TE in all five weeks so far.
Steelers RB Jaylen Warren (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Raiders. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, which seemingly puts him on track to play, despite HC Mike Tomlin labeling him doubtful early in the week. Warren would be tough to trust in fantasy lineups in his first action since Week 3, but his return puts a significant dent in RB Najee Harris’ workload projection.
Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) will “likely” be active as QB Justin Fields’ backup against the Raiders on Sunday, HC Mike Tomlin said. Perhaps this means Fields’ leash is a tad shorter if he struggles this weekend, but he remains a fine low-end QB1 in the plus matchup.
Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth was added to Thursday's injury report as limited with a calf. That typically means the player was injured in practice. Freiermuth's availability for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders is now in question. Check back tomorrow for an update on his status.
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin ruled RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) out and labeled RB Jaylen Warren (knee) doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. Making those proclamations so early in the week doesn't bode well for either guy's availability for Week 7. The Steelers have a Week 9 bye, and it's possible we don't see either guy before then. RB Najee Harris will again dominate backfield touches for Pittsburgh this weekend. He's tallied 27 carries and eight targets over the last two weeks, although it hasn't resulted in many fantasy points.
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that QB Russell Wilson (calf) won't have any restrictions in practice this week. But Wilson will work with the second team "as to not disrupt Justin's preparation," Tomlin added. In other words, Fields will start Sunday's game vs the Raiders. He's not guaranteed anything beyond that, though, especially if the Steelers drop their third straight game.
Steelers WR George Pickens played just 34 of the team's 58 offensive snaps in Sunday night's loss to the Cowboys. HC Mike Tomlin said afterward that it was merely a load-management move.
Steelers RBs Jaylen Warren (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) are out for Sunday night’s game vs. the Cowboys. Both missed practice all week. Their absences leave Aaron Shampklin as Pittsburgh’s No. 2 RB. Najee Harris should handle a heavy workload against Dallas.
