Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Commanders WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 10 injury report after putting in full practices on Friday and Saturday. The rookie will play vs. the Eagles on Monday night for the 1st time since Week 4. Dotson scored 4 times through the season's first 4 games but averaged a middling 5.5 targets and 3.0 catches per game. We'd keep him on season-long benches against Philly's 4th-ranked WR defense.
Colts LB Shaquille Leonard will not only miss this week's game, but also at least the 3 after that. The team has placed him on IR following a setback with his troublesome back. Leonard had surgery in June, then didn't appear in a game until Week 4. A concussion and facial injury then sidelined him until Week 8. Leonard has yet to exceed 54% playing time in his 3 appearances. Indianapolis has a Week 14 bye, so Leonard will now be out until at least Week 15. And even then, he'll be a poor bet to return at full playing time. He's droppable in nearly all redraft formats.
The Colts have ruled LB Shaquille Leonard (back, ankle) out for Sunday's game against the Raiders. That should return LB Bobby Okereke to full playing time. We've moved him up the Week 10 IDP rankings.
The Colts added LB Shaquille Leonard to the injury report Thursday after he missed practice with back and ankle issues. It might have been a rest/maintenance day for the veteran, but it's the 1st practice he has missed since Week 6. So it's clearly not a good thing. We'll see what Friday holds for him.
Commanders WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) got in a limited practice on Thursday. We'll see if the rookie can make it back for Monday night, but he wouldn't be a recommended fantasy play vs. the Eagles' 4th-ranked WR defense.
Patriots WR DeVante Parker (knee) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. That leaves Jakobi Meyers, Tyquan Thornton, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor as New England’s top 4 WRs. Meyers is the only bankable Week 9 fantasy play.
Eagles WR A.J. Brown scored for the 3rd straight game in Thursday’s win over Houston. He gained several yards of separation on a beautiful corner route in the end zone. The former Titan added just 4 grabs for 59 yards. But it’s worth noting that Jalen Hurts attempted only 27 passes, while Brown’s target share wasn’t exactly minuscule at 22.2%. On pace for over 1,500 yards, Brown’s status as a fantasy WR1 remains firm.
Eagles TE Dallas Goedert led the team with 9 targets, 8 catches and 100 yards in Week 9. He added his 2nd TD of the season, capitalizing on a plus matchup in Houston. Goedert’s size showed up in this one, as he routinely ripped apart the Texans’ Cover 2 defense for chunk gains. The 27-year-old has now snagged 5+ passes in 4 of his past 5 matchups. He’ll remain a no-doubt top-5 option next week against the Commanders.
Eagles QB Jalen Hurts completed 21 of 27 passes for 243 yards and 2 TDs in Thursday’s win over Houston. Hurts' scores went to A.J. Brown and Dallas Goedert, who led the team with 9 targets. The QB delivered on the efficiency side with a 77.7% completion rate — basically the expectation in a plus matchup. But he wasn’t a fantasy difference-maker with only 23 rushing yards. Philly scored on a pair of runs inside the 5 yard-line and wound up with 29 points on the night. So this wasn’t some concerning performance from the offense overall. With this unit healthy, Hurts will remain a strong QB1 next week vs. Washington.
Commanders WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. The rookie has yet to practice since re-injuring his hamstring on October 20. although HC Ron Rivera said Friday that he's hoping to get Dotson back on the field next week. Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel will continue to operate as Washington's clear top 2 WRs this weekend.
Commanders WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) remained sidelined on Wednesday. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on him returning for this weekend's game vs. the Vikings. Dotson's continued absence would be good news for WR Terry McLaurin, who has 8 targets in back-to-back games with QB Taylor Heinicke.
Patriots WR DeVante Parker suffered "just a knee sprain" in Sunday's win over the Jets, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "If he misses time, it'll likely only be one game," Rapoport adds. "Could be back after the [Week 10] bye." We'll track Parker's status throughout the week, leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Colts.
The Seahawks limited RB Saquon Barkley to just 62 total yards on 23 touches Sunday. He averaged a meager 2.7 yards across 20 carries and tallied a meager 9 yards on 3 receptions (5 targets). Barkley saved his fantasy day with a 1-yard TD plunge in the 2nd quarter. The Seattle defense has been terrific in 3 straight outings, against both the run and pass. Barkley and the Giants get a Week 9 bye.
Eagles QB Jalen Hurts went 19 for 28 passing in Sunday's win over the Steelers, compiling 285 yards and 4 TDs. He hit WR A.J. Brown for 3 of those and 54.7% of his passing yardage. WR Zach Pascal snagged the other TD. Hurts gets another upside matchup Thursday night at Houston.
Eagles WR A.J. Brown racked up 156 yards and 3 TDs on 6 catches in Sunday's 35-13 beatdown of the Steelers. His 11 targets led the team but put Brown just 3 ahead of WR DeVonta Smith, who caught 5 passes for 23 yards. TE Dallas Goedert added 6-64 receiving on 6 looks. No other Eagle topped 2 targets. Philly heads to Houston for another positive matchup Thursday night.
Patriots WR DeVante Parker hurt his right knee in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Jets and is officially questionable to return. We'll update his status when we know more.
Colts LB Shaquille Leonard will play Sunday against the Commanders, though he's not yet going full time. "He’s ahead of schedule, but not quite there yet so he will be on a pitch count," HC Frank Reich told the Indianapolis Star. "We feel he is the best defensive player in the league. Our goal is to get him out there for 100 percent of the snaps as soon as we can, but we’re just not quite there yet." Leonard is coming off surgery for a broken nose, as well as a concussion. That followed a slow start to the year coming off June back surgery. It's tough to know just how many snaps Leonard will play, but we've boosted Zaire Franklin to full playing time and moved him way up the Week 8 IDP rankings. He played 100% in the 1 game that has included Leonard so far this year (Week 4).
Commanders WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. The rookie remained sidelined for practice all week. WR Dyami Brown (groin) is listed as questionable but obviously shouldn’t be in your fantasy plans.
Bucs WR Julio Jones (knee) is active for tonight's game vs. the Ravens. Jones was reportedly a game-time decision, so it’s safe to assume he’s still not at 100%. He’s really only an option in 1-game DFS contests.
Colts LB Shaquille Leonard practiced in full Wednesday and was listed only for the back issue, which was the June surgery whose recovery kept him out to open the season. It's good news that the team isn't listing his broken nose that required more recent surgery. Leonard's inactivity in the wake of that kept HC Frank Reich from playing him in last week's loss at Tennessee, despite full practices leading up to the weekend. Leonard seems to be on track to return for this Sunday's game against Washington. That would likely take playing time away from IDP revelation Zaire Franklin. We'll watch for word on whether Leonard will immediately assume a full-time role.
