Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Chiefs LB Nick Bolton (ankle) is inactive for the third straight game. His absence boosts Drue Tranquill way up the Week 5 LB rankings.
Jets WR Mecole Hardman is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Broncos. Hopefully you weren't counting on him. Hardman has one catch through four games.
Chiefs LB Nick Bolton (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings. He managed limited practices all week after missing the past two games. DC Steve Spagnuolo indicated it'll be a game-time decision, though, according to Arrowhead Pride. If he's out again, Drue Tranquill would fill in.
Chiefs LB Nick Bolton (ankle) put in limited practices Wednesday and Thursday. That's noteworthy because he missed every practice the past two weeks, along with both games. We'll see about Bolton's game status after Friday's practice. His return would send LB Drue Tranquill back to a part-time role.
Chiefs TE Travis Kelce posted 6 catches on 9 targets with a team-leading 60 receiving yards in Week 4's win vs. the Jets. Unfortunately, the other Chiefs' TE Noah Gray was the one found the end zone on a 34-yard dart in the contest. Rookie Rashee Rice didn't have the biggest day on the field (3 catches, 32 yards). Still, his 5 targets were considerably more than his teammates Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, each of whom received 2 targets apiece. It'll be worth stashing Rice on benches if he's still available in your leagues. Next week, the Chiefs will take on the Vikings.
Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco pounded the rock effectively in primetime, racking up 115 yards on 20 carries to go along with a TD vs. the Jets. He also snagged all 3 targets for 43 receiving yards as a pass-catcher in Week 4. Teammates Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon combined for 6 carries and 2 targets in the contest. Pacheco’s 24.5 PPR points land as the highest fantasy total in his career to date. Managers will hope for a continued streak of dominance in Week 5 vs. the Vikings.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 18 of 30 attempts for 272 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs in Week 4’s narrow victory over the Jets. He also added 51 rushing yards on 7 carries in the contest. This rare, error-laden effort from the reigning MVP puts him outside of QB1 territory on the week. Fantasy managers should expect a bounce-back effort in Week 5 vs. the Vikings.
Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins snagged 4 of 6 targets for 63 yards in Sunday’s win vs. the Bengals. Teammate Nick Westbrook-Ikhine hauled in a TD in the contest to go along with 5 catches and 51 yards of his own. Despite WR Treylon Burks missing Week 4, TE Chigoziem Okonkwo didn’t factor into the passing game very much. He only saw 3 targets turn into 5.9 PPR points. Next up for the Titans is a Week 5 matchup vs. the Colts.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (thumb) is active for today’s game vs. the 49ers. He injured his thumb on Thursday but was able to get in a limited practice on Friday. It’s unclear how big an issue it’ll be today, adding some risk to Brown’s Week 4 fantasy profile.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (thumb) is expected to play vs. the 49ers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Brown injured his thumb on Thursday but was able to get in a limited practice on Friday. It's unclear if the thumb will be a factor today.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (thumb) is questionable for this weekend's game vs. the 49ers. He injured his thumb on Thursday but was able to get in a limited practice on Friday. We'll look for further updates on Brown's status but won't get Arizona's inactives until around 3 pm ET on Sunday. The thumb injury will add some risk to Brown's fantasy profile if he does suit up this weekend.
Browns RB Kareem Hunt (ribs, groin) got in just two limited practices this week but isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll play vs. the Ravens on Sunday. Hunt tallied five carries and three targets on a 20% snap rate in his 2023 debut last week.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown was added to Thursday's injury report with a thumb and limited in practice. That likely means he injured the thumb today. We'll see what he does in Friday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game vs. the 49ers.
Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins is not listed on the Week 4 injury report. He's been bothered by an ankle injury the past two weeks but is evidently healthy heading into Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. Hopkins posted a 7-65-0 line on 13 targets in Week 1, the last time he was off the injury report.
Browns RB Kareem Hunt (ribs, groin) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Kevin Stefanski didn't express any concern about his availability for this weekend's game vs. the Ravens, but we'll keep an eye on his status over the next few days.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' ankle is "all good," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Mahomes got rolled up on near the end of the first half of Sunday's blowout win over the Bears. But he stayed in the game, only exiting in the third quarter after the Chiefs went up 41-0. Mahomes should be fine for Sunday night's game vs. the Jets.
Cardinals WR Marquise Brown gathered 5 catches, 61 yards, and 1 score in a Week 3 win over Dallas. His 7 targets represented a 33.3% team share. He’s benefiting from Josh Dobbs’ surprisingly effective play, as the QB hit him both downfield (23 yards) and at the goal line (2 yards) on tight-window connections. Brown now travels to San Francisco looking to sustain a hefty season-long target share of 27.5%.
Chiefs TE Travis Kelce delivered another classic performance with 7 catches on 8 targets for 69 yards and a TD in Week 3 vs. the Bears. This game was never close, as the Chiefs led 34-0 by halftime. It’s worth mentioning that rookie WR Rashee Rice also had some success on Sunday, with 5 catches on 7 targets for 59 yards. He logged 3 catches for 39 yards before the Chiefs rested most of their starting players by the end, so there’s some reason to be excited about this development. Kelce will look to further impress his new lady friend Taylor Swift in Week 4 vs. the Jets.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 24 of 33 attempts for 272 yards with 3 TD in Week 3’s dominant win vs. the Bears. He also added 28 rushing yards on 3 carries in the contest. This game was already out of hand by halftime, so Mahomes was pulled before the end of regulation. Still, he posted enough production for fantasy managers to be happy. He’ll look to continue his MVP-level play in Week 4 vs. the Jets.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was pulled in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Bears, with his team holding a 41-0 lead. Mahomes racked up 272 yards and three TDs on 24-of-33 passing. He tweaked his ankle near the end of the first half but didn't miss any snaps. We'll keep an eye on that situation this coming week, but Mahomes should be fine for Week 4's meeting with the Jets.
