Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Jaguars WRs Brian Thomas (chest) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) are listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. They were both limited in practice all week and labeled game-time decisions by HC Doug Pederson on Friday. We'll hopefully get an update on these guys on Sunday morning but won't get Jacksonville's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET.

Jaguars RBs Travis Etienne (hamstring) and Tank Bigsby (ankle) are listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. Both guys were limited in practice all three days this week. HC Doug Pederson said Friday that Bigsby is "fine" but called Etienne a game-time decision. We'll look for further updates on this backfield but won't get Jacksonville's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET on Sunday. D'Ernest Johnson is Jacksonvile's No. 3 RB -- in case Etienne and Bigsby both end up sitting this week.

Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) remained limited in Wednesday's practice. He was limited all three days last week before missing the Packers game. We're tentatively projecting Etienne to play vs. the Eagles this weekend but will keep you updated on his status. Etienne's return would make RB Tank Bigsby a much shakier fantasy start.

Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. The fact that he was out there at all seemingly gives him a good chance to play vs. the Eagles this weekend, but we'll keep you updated on the rookie's status. WR Gabe Davis (shoulder) was also limited on Wednesday.

Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said Monday that WR Brian Thomas Jr. is "day to day" with a contusion on the left side of his chest. An MRI showed no additional damage. It's much better news than ESPN's Jeremy Fowler's report earlier today. Pederson added that Thomas Jr. has "a chance" to play vs. the Eagles on Sunday. We'll track his status throughout this week.

Shortly after ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. might miss 2-4 weeks, ESPN Jaguars reporter Michael DiRocco updated (countered?) the report with better news. According to DiRocco, Thomas is hoping to get back onto the field this week.

Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. "could" miss 2-4 weeks with the chest/rib injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Packers, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "Scans today will determine full extent and next steps, though," Fowler adds. "Thomas is also getting a second opinion." We'll look for further updates on the rookie's status, but fantasy owners should at least prepare to be without him for Week 9. The Jaguars have a Week 12 bye, so the longer end of Fowler's timeline could have Thomas out until Week 14. For now, he's worth keeping stashed on all fantasy benches.

Jaguars WR Christian Kirk suffered a collarbone fracture in Sunday's loss to the Packers. He'll miss the rest of the season.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence completed 21-of-32 passes for 308 yards and 2 TDs as well as 1 INT. He also ran for an additional TD in the game. The Jaguars played a close game, but were unable to seal the victory.

Jaguars WR Christian Kirk suffered a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game vs. the Packers and was quickly ruled out. We'll update you on his injury when we know more.

Jaguars WR Brian Thomas is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Packers with a chest injury. Trainers were working on his rib area on the sidelines. We'll update his status when we know more.

Jaguars WR Gabe Davis suffered a shoulder injury in the first half of Sunday's game vs. the Packers and is officially questionable to return. He went target-less before exiting. We'll update Davis' status when we know more.

Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, so we’re tentatively expecting Etienne back for Week 9. His absence today again leaves the backfield to RBs Tank Bigsby and D’Ernest Johnson. Bigsby should handle most of the rushing work but will cede passing-down snaps to Johnson. See where both guys land in the Week 8 RB Rankings.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) a "long shot" to play vs. the Packers today. That'll again leave the backfield to RBs Tank Bigsby and D'Ernest Johnson. Bigsby is coming off a big Week 7 with positive game script against a leaky Patriots run defense. He continued to see very few passing-down snaps, though, which is a concern with the Jaguars 4-point underdogs today. It leaves Bigsby as a volatile Week 8 fantasy play.

Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers. HC Doug Pederson said Friday that Etienne will “probably be a game-time decision.” We’ll look for further updates on his status and get Jacksonville’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. Etienne’s absence would make RB Tank Bigsby a more reliable Week 8 fantasy play.

Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) was officially limited in Wednesday's practice. HC Doug Pederson said before practice that he expected Etienne to get "a little bit of individual work with trainers," so it doesn't sound like he did a whole lot. He remains uncertain for Sunday's game vs. the Packers. Etienne's absence would keep RB Tank Bigsby in the RB3 mix.

The Jaguars have opened the 21-day practice window for LB Foye Oluokun, who missed the past four games with plantar fasciitis. That allows Oluokun to return to practice this week while giving the Jags three weeks to decide whether to fully activate him.

Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby ran 26 times for 118 yards and two TDs. He was the clear lead back with RB Travis Etienne out handling 26 RB touches compared to D’Ernest Johnson’s 12.

Rookie Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. caught all 5 targets for 89 yards and a TD. He also had two carries for 2 yards. His beautiful 58-yard TD catch showcased the rookies upside, and he will be the Jaguars WR1 moving forward.

Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Patriots. His absence leaves the backfield to Tank Bigsby and D’Ernest Johnson. Bigsby should control early-down work but will lose passing-down snaps to Johnson. It leaves Bigsby as a risk/reward RB2 in an excellent spot with the Jags 6.5-point favorites against New England’s 22nd-ranked RB defense.
