Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson announced Friday that TE Evan Engram will have season-ending surgery to fix a torn shoulder labrum. That should mean Brenton Strange leads Jacksonville TE opportunities over the final four games.
Jaguars TE Evan Engram (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Doug Pederson said he expects Engram to play vs. the Jets this weekend, although Pederson has been unreliable when it comes to injuries. We'll see if Engram gets back on the practice field tomorrow.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is expected to have surgery to repair the AC joint injury in his left shoulder, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Lawrence was set to play through the injury but sustained a concussion early in the Week 13 loss to the Texans. He won't play again this year but is expected to make a "full recovery" for the 2025 season, per Rapoport.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is being placed on IR after suffering a concussion against the Texans. He would be eligibile to return for Week 18, but he likely will be shut down for the season. LB Azeez Al-Shaair was suspended due to the hit on Lawrence while he was sliding.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, HC Doug Pederson said. Lawrence is a long shot to play vs. the Titans this weekend after taking a vicious hit from Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair last week. That'll leave QB Mac Jones back under center. He struggled in starts against tough Vikings and Lions defenses but played well in relief of Lawrence last week, completing 20 of 32 passes (63%) for 235 yards (7.3 YPA), two TDs, and 0 INTs.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence sustained an apparent concussion in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars. He took a shot to the head at the end of slide and banged his head against the field. This would be Lawrence's second documented concussion. He'll be replaced by QB Mac Jones.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. He’ll be playing through a significant AC joint injury to his left shoulder that might eventually require surgery. Lawrence would be a shaky start even in superflex leagues. But his return is good news for WR Brian Thomas Jr. and TE Evan Engram.
Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby (ankle) was a full-go in practice all week and is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. It’s unclear how carries will be divvied between Bigsby and RB Travis Etienne. And the matchup is tough against Houston’s fifth-ranked RB defense. Bigsby is not a recommended Week 13 fantasy play.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is expected to play vs. the Texans this weekend, HC Doug Pederson said Friday. Lawrence will be playing through a significant AC joint injury to his left shoulder that might eventually require surgery. It's his non-throwing shoulder, but there's still some risk that Lawrence takes a shot and is forced to exit. Against a Texans squad ranked fourth in pass defense DVOA, Lawrence would be a shaky Week 13 fantasy play. But his return is excellent news for WR Brian Thomas Jr. and TE Evan Engram.
There's a "good possibility" that Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) starts against the Texans on Sunday if he avoids a setback over the next couple of days, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Lawrence took the "majority" of the first-team reps in Wednesday's practice, Rapoport adds. Lawrence is dealing with an AC joint injury in his left, non-throwing shoulder that might eventually require surgery. But he seems determined to play through it for the 2-9 Jaguars. Lawrence would not be a recommended fantasy play against Houston, but his return would be good news for WR Brian Thomas Jr. and TE Evan Engram.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice. HC Doud Pederson was non-committal on Lawrence's availability for this weekend's game vs. the Texans before practice. We'll continue to track his status over the next few days. Lawrence shouldn't be part of your Week 13 fantasy plans, but his return would be good news for WR Brian Thomas and TE Evan Engram.
Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. That puts him on track to play against the Texans this weekend -- and makes Jacksonville's backfield one to avoid in fantasy lineups. It's unclear how work will be divvied between Bigsby and Travis Etienne. And Houston ranks fifth in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will practice on Monday, HC Doug Pederson said. The team will monitor Lawrence throughout the week before deciding whether he'll play against the Texans on Sunday. We're not sure why Lawrence would push through this injury for the 2-9 Jags, but his return would be good news for the offense. Jacksonville totaled 216 passing yards and 13 points over the last two games with QB Mac Jones.
Jaguars WR Gabriel Davis is believed to have suffered a torn meniscus in Sunday's loss to the Lions, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Davis is expected to undergo surgery, at which point doctors will determine whether the meniscus needs to be trimmed or fully repaired. The former would sideline Davis for multiple weeks; the latter would end his season. Either way, Davis is safe to drop from all redraft rosters. His absence certainly won't hurt WR Brian Thomas or TE Evan Engram's target potential the rest of the way. None of the other Jacksonville pass catchers are worth messing with in fantasy lineups.
Update: HC Doug Pederson confirmed Monday afternoon that Davis will miss the rest of the season. He should have plenty of time to prepare for the start of 2025.
Jaguars WR Gabriel Davis has been ruled out of Sunday's game vs. the Lions with a knee injury. He finished with one catch on three targets for three yards. Hopefully this news isn't impacting your Sunday.
Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. the Lions after missing practice all week. His absence makes RB Travis Etienne a more palatable Week 11 fantasy play, although his team is still a 14-point underdog with a week-low 16.5-point implied total. D'Ernest Johnson will be Jacksonville's No. 2 RB in Detroit.
Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He got banged up in last week's loss to the Vikings, finishing with just two carries on 10 snaps. HC Doug Pederson said afterward that it was "nothing serious," but Bigsby's status bears monitoring over the next few days. His absence would make RB Travis Etienne a more palatable fantasy play against the Lions on Sunday.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) won't play vs. the Lions this weekend, HC Doug Pederson said Wednesday. Jacksonville gets a Week 12 bye, so perhaps we see Lawrence again in Week 13. But he's reportedly considering season-ending surgery on his injured left shoulder. Lawrence has no reason to rush back to the soon-to-be 2-9 Jags. QB Mac Jones gets another start on Sunday after an ugly Week 10: 111 yards, 0 TDs, and 2 INTs. That came against a tough Vikings defense, but this weekend's matchup against the Lions isn't much easier. Jones isn't a recommended play in any format and makes Jacksonville's skill-position players tough to trust.
Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby injured his ankle in the first quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Vikings and is officially questionable to return. We'll update his status when we know more.
Update: Bigsby returned later in the first quarter.
Jaguars RB D’Ernest Johnson (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Vikings. He should be the team’s No. 3 RB, stealing a few touches from RBs Tank Bigsby and Travis Etienne.
