Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Vikings EDGE Danielle Hunter (neck) is active for today's game against the Colts. He popped up on Wednesday's injury report as limited and remained limited Thursday before turning up questionable, but Hunter should be ready for IDP lineups in a high-ceiling matchup. DT Harrison Phillips (back) is also active.
Texans WRs Nico Collins (foot) and Brandin Cooks (calf) have been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. Cooks actually got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday; Collins was sidelined all week. Chris Moore, Phillip Dorsett and Amari Rodgers will again operate as Houston's top 3 WRs this weekend.
Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Chiefs. RBs Dare Ogunbowale and Rex Burkhead are on the active roster, with RBs Royce Freeman and Gerrid Doaks on the practice squad. We’ll see if Houston makes an elevation on Saturday, but you should try to avoid this backfield in fantasy lineups.
Texans WR Nico Collins (foot) remained sidelined on Thursday. WR Brandin Cooks (calf) returned to a limited practice, giving him a shot to play vs. the Chiefs this weekend. We'll update Houston's WRs again tomorrow.
Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He's expected to miss at least this weekend's game vs. the Chiefs, leaving Houston's backfield to some combination of Dare Ogunbowale, Rex Burkhead, Royce Freeman and Gerrid Doaks.
Texans HC Lovie Smith wouldn't say for sure whether both QB Davis Mills and QB Jeff Driskel would play vs. the Chiefs this weekend, but it sure sounds like he's leaning in that direction. “I thought it was effective,” Smith said. “Two different flavors, and that’s always tough for a defense to prepare with what we were doing with them. As far as what we’re going to do this week going forward, we started evaluating and seeing what we need to do against another good division-leading Kansas City football team. We’ll see how that goes, but both quarterbacks were productive." Mills and Driskel split snaps right down the middle in last week's loss to the Cowboys. Mills completed 16 of 21 passes for 175 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT. Driskel was more Taysom-Hill lite, going just 4-for-6 for 38 yards and a TD passing but running it 7 times for 36 yards. Of course, neither guy is an option at QB in any fantasy setup. But Driskel has TE eligibility on some platforms, putting him in play as a Week 15 flier.
Texans RB Dameon Pierce is expected to miss "at least" 1 game with a "relatively mild high-ankle sprain," a source tells insider Aaron Wilson. It sounds like Pierce could end up missing a couple of games but is expected back this season. Houston released RB Eno Benjamin on Tuesday, leaving Dare Ogunbowale and Rex Burkhead as the healthy RBs on the active roster. RB Royce Freeman is on the practice squad. Hopefully you don't need to mess with this situation in Week 15 fantasy lineups.
Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz led the team in targets (10), receptions (6) and receiving yards (87) in Sunday's narrow escape from the Texans. He beat everyone else on the team by 4 looks. WR Noah Brown checked in 2nd with 85 yards on 4 catches (6 targets). WR CeeDee Lamb (5-33) and WR Michael Gallup (2-40) matched Brown's target count. Dallas heads to Jacksonville -- the 3rd-best WR-scoring matchup in the league -- in Week 15.
Texans RB Dameon Pierce ran for 78 yards and a TD on 22 carries in Sunday's surprisingly narrow loss to the Cowboys. He didn't draw a single target, which is alarming for his viability going forward. Pierce shared pass routes to Dare Ogunbowale (who led the team in that category), Eno Benjamin and Rex Burkhead. Pierce did leave in the 4th quarter with an ankle injury. Week 15 holds a neutral RB-scoring matchup with the Chiefs, if he's ready.
Bengals RB Joe Mixon managed a solid stat line in his return Sunday from a 2-game concussion. He tallied 106 total yards, with 96 rushing on 14 carries and 10 on his 2 receptions (2 targets). Mixon worked as the clear lead runner, ceding just 5 carries to Samaje Perine (4) and Trayveon Williams (1). But Perine actually beat Mixon in receiving opportunities. He drew 5 targets (1 catch) and ran 3 more routes than the starter. Perine also scored the team's lone rushing TD, from 6 yards out. If this increased role continues, it will hurt both the floor and ceiling for Mixon, who gets challenging rushing matchups with the Buccaneers and Patriots the next 2 weeks.
Texans RB Dameon Pierce suffered an ankle injury in the 2nd half of Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. He's officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update.
Lions CB Jeff Okudah (illness) is active for today's game against the Vikings. Use him as planned in IDP lineups.
Lions CB Jeff Okudah is questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings. He missed Wednesday and Thursday with an illness this week before putting in a limited Friday workout. Okudah played a key role in Detroit limiting Vikings WR Justin Jefferson in their 1st meeting this season. His presence Sunday shouldn't affect whether you're playing Jefferson in fantasy football lineups, but Okudah matters for the quality of Detroit's defense overall. He also could be in for plenty of opportunities for IDP upside, if active.
Texans WRs Nico Collins (foot) and Brandin Cooks (calf) are out for Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. That leaves Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore and Amari Rodgers as Houston's top 3 WRs. They're only worth considering as cheap DFS tournament fliers.
The Texans have ruled CB Derek Stingley Jr. (hamstring) out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn't listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Browns. We're expecting Mixon to step back into a similar role to the one he had before missing the last 2 games. He's a RB1 play against a bad Cleveland run defense.
Insider Aaron Wilson reports that Texans WRs Nico Collins (foot) and Brandin Cooks (calf) are expected to miss Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. That'd leave Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore and Amari Rodgers as Houston's top 3 WRs. The TEs and RBs figure to pick up extra targets -- but your best bet is avoiding this entire offense this week. Houston is currently sporting a 13-point implied total.
Texans WR Nico Collins (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any other details on his status. We'll see if Collins is able to get on the field tomorrow, ahead of Sunday's meeting with the Cowboys.
Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. It's his first full practice since going down in Week 11 and puts him on track to return for Sunday's game vs. the Browns.
Texans QB Davis Mills will start Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys, insider Aaron Wilson reports. QB Kyle Allen was a disaster the past 2 weeks, averaging 5.3 yards per pass attempt with 2 TDs vs. 4 INTs. Mills wasn't very good over the first 10 games of the season, but we'd consider him a slight upgrade for the offense.
