Houston Texans Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Lions CB Jeff Okudah is questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings. He missed Wednesday and Thursday with an illness this week before putting in a limited Friday workout. Okudah played a key role in Detroit limiting Vikings WR Justin Jefferson in their 1st meeting this season. His presence Sunday shouldn't affect whether you're playing Jefferson in fantasy football lineups, but Okudah matters for the quality of Detroit's defense overall. He also could be in for plenty of opportunities for IDP upside, if active.

Texans WRs Nico Collins (foot) and Brandin Cooks (calf) are out for Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. That leaves Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore and Amari Rodgers as Houston's top 3 WRs. They're only worth considering as cheap DFS tournament fliers.

The Texans have ruled CB Derek Stingley Jr. (hamstring) out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn't listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Browns. We're expecting Mixon to step back into a similar role to the one he had before missing the last 2 games. He's a RB1 play against a bad Cleveland run defense.

Insider Aaron Wilson reports that Texans WRs Nico Collins (foot) and Brandin Cooks (calf) are expected to miss Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. That'd leave Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore and Amari Rodgers as Houston's top 3 WRs. The TEs and RBs figure to pick up extra targets -- but your best bet is avoiding this entire offense this week. Houston is currently sporting a 13-point implied total.

Texans WR Nico Collins (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any other details on his status. We'll see if Collins is able to get on the field tomorrow, ahead of Sunday's meeting with the Cowboys.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. It's his first full practice since going down in Week 11 and puts him on track to return for Sunday's game vs. the Browns.

Texans QB Davis Mills will start Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys, insider Aaron Wilson reports. QB Kyle Allen was a disaster the past 2 weeks, averaging 5.3 yards per pass attempt with 2 TDs vs. 4 INTs. Mills wasn't very good over the first 10 games of the season, but we'd consider him a slight upgrade for the offense.

Bengals HC Zay Taylor said Monday that RB Joe Mixon (concussion) was held out of the Chiefs game for "precautionary reasons." He added that Mixon could clear concussion protocol early this week. There's a good chance that Mixon is back for Sunday's game vs. the Browns, but nothing's definitive until he gets full clearance.

Texans WR Nico Collins managed just 3 catches for 35 yards in Sunday's loss to the Browns, despite leading the team with 10 targets. That marked a 25.6% share of Houston's total pass attempts and beat his nearest teammate by 4 targets. Collins did, at least, snag the team's only TD: a 6-yard catch with just less than 2 minutes remaining in the game. We'll see about WR Brandin Cooks' availability for a Week 14 visit to Dallas.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce rushed 18 times for 73 yards in Sunday's loss to the Browns, adding 22 more yards on 3 receptions. That didn't make for big fantasy football numbers, but it did mark a big improvement over the previous 2 weeks. Pierce totaled just 16 yards on 8 touches at Miami last week and 17 yards on 12 touches vs. Washington the week before. We'll see what the rookie can do in Week 14 at Dallas.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. With Mixon out last week, RB Samaje Perine played 80% of Cincinnati’s offensive snaps and handled 17 carries and 7 targets. He’s a legit RB1 in Week 13 fantasy lineups.

ESPN's Dan Graziano hears that Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) is "highly unlikely" to play vs. the Chiefs later today. "They haven’t officially ruled him out yet," Graziano adds. But
"something would have to change last minute." We won't get Cincinnati's inactives until 3 pm ET, but Mixon should be on fantasy benches right now. Samaje Perine is a fantasy RB1 if Mixon is out.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon still hadn't cleared concussion protocol as of late Saturday night and is a "long shot" to play vs. the Chiefs today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. ESPN's Adam Schefter isn't quite as pessimistic on Mixon's chances but confirms that he's still in the protocol. There's evidently a chance that he's cleared this morning, but fantasy owners should plan on being without him for now. Mixon's absence would again leave RB Samaje Perine in a feature role. He racked up 17 carries and 7 targets last week. Check out the updated projections for Cincinnati's backfield.

The Texans have ruled CB Derek Stingley Jr. (hamstring) out for Sunday's game against the Browns.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Chiefs. He was limited in practice all week. HC Zac Taylor confirmed on Friday morning that Mixon is still in concussion protocol and said that the team is “taking it on a 12-hour by 12-hour basis.” We’ll see if Mixon is able to clear concussion protocol by Sunday. If not, Samaje Perine will again operate as Cincinnati's workhorse.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) was limited again in Thursday's practice. It means that he still hasn't fully cleared the protocol. We're still tentatively expecting Mixon to play vs. the Chiefs this weekend, but we'll continue to keep you updated on his progress.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He still has some work to do to clear the protocol, but Mixon is trending toward returning for this weekend's game vs. the Chiefs. We'll get another update on his progress on Thursday afternoon.

Bengals HC Zac Taylor said RB Joe Mixon would be practicing with the team today, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. Completing a practice is reportedly the final step for Mixon to get through the league concussion protocol, which would return him for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. We'll keep watching to confirm his status, but expect to have Mixon back in fantasy football lineups this week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) is "trending in the right direction" for Week 13. HC Zac Taylor said Monday that Mixon remains in the concussion protocol, but fantasy owners can tentatively expect him to be cleared in time to play vs. the Chiefs on Sunday. We'll keep you updated on his progress throughout the week.
