Patrick Mahomes Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes confirmed on Friday that he'll have no restrictions at the start of training camp. That's no surprise after he was a full-go in June workouts, but it's another reminder that last year's toe injury will not be an issue in 2021.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was a full participant in minicamp and doesn't sound at all worried about the left foot injury that required surgery after the Super Bowl. “I don’t see any problems moving forward,” Mahomes said. “Obviously I’m going to continue with the rehab and work to strengthen it. I feel I had good OTAs, a good minicamp. I was able to move around and do the things I needed to do.” Barring a setback, the foot will be a non-issue this season.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid confirmed on Monday that "key starters" won't play in Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the Chargers. Kansas City has the AFC's #1 seed locked up. Don't expect to see QB Patrick Mahomes, WR Tyreek Hill or TE Travis Kelce on the field at all. WR Sammy Watkins and RB Le'Veon Bell also figure to be limited or sit out entirely. QB Chad Henne will draw the start for Kansas City. We'll look for clues on who the RB and WR snaps will go to.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has been diagnosed with a dislocated patella (knee cap), according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Mahomes will undergo an MRI to check for ligament damage. Former NFL head team Dr. David Chao says that Mahomes will eventually need surgery, which will sideline him for 6 to 9 months. It's possible, though, for Mahomes to return in 4+ weeks and play through the injury. We'll continue to update this situation as we learn more.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes injured his right knee on a QB sneak in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the Broncos. Trainers appeared to pop the knee back into place on the field. Mahomes was able to walk off the field with trainers and headed back to the locker room. We'll update his status when we learn more. QB Matt Moore is in the game for Kansas City.

Update: Mahomes has been ruled out for the game.

The forecast for today's Jaguars-Chiefs game calls for periods of heavy rain. The good news is that winds are expected to be only 6-7 mph. They aren't ideal conditions, but it's not enough for us to adjust our projections for these passing games. You might use the weather as a tiebreaker if deciding between 2 similarly ranked players, though.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid announced Wednesday that QB Patrick Mahomes will start this weekend's finale against the Broncos. Kansas City is locked into the AFC's #4 seed and has nothing to gain on Sunday. We doubt that RB Kareem Hunt, WR Tyreek Hill or TE Travis Kelce play much, if at all. That makes Mahomes tougher to like -- especially in a tough spot in Denver.
