Kareem Hunt Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks, but we'll get another update on Hunt tomorrow.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) did not practice on Wednesday. He was also held out last Wednesday before practicing the next two days and playing vs. the Colts. Hunt should be fine for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks -- and should play an expanded role with RB Jerome Ford (ankle) out.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that QB P.J. Walker will start this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks. "I just feel like with what happened in the game, landing on his shoulder, there's residual swelling that's affecting his throwing," Stefanski said of QB Deshaun Watson. "I think it's the best thing for him to rest this week and focus on the rehab." Considering Watson was out for three weeks the first time he hurt his shoulder, it's certainly possible that he misses more than one game this time around. Expect another run-heavy game plan from Cleveland in Seattle this weekend.

Browns RB Jerome Ford is expected to miss 1-2 weeks with a “low grade, high ankle” sprain, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's relatively good news, but Ford owners will be without him at least for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. That'll leave Cleveland's backfield to RBs Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong. We'll see if Ford can make it back for Week 9.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt ran 10 times for 31 yards and 2 TDs, including the game-winner Sunday against the Colts. The latter came from 1 yard out after Jerome Ford had left the game. But Hunt's other score came from 2 yards out early in the second quarter. That marks the second straight game in which he has scored from inside the red zone with Jerome Ford available. If Ford can't go in Week 8, then Hunt would make for a solid RB2 against the Seahawks. Pierre Strong also came on for 25 yards on 8 carries against the Colts.

Browns RB Jerome Ford suffered an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Colts and is officially questionable to return. That leaves Cleveland's backfield to Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong. We'll update Ford's status when we know more.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) is active for today’s game vs. the Colts. He was reportedly a game-time decision, so it’s safe to assume that he’ll be playing at less than 100% today. Consider Hunt a risky RB3 or flex play.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) will go through a pre-game workout to determine whether he can play vs. the Colts today, "but Cleveland has concerns about his availability," ESPN's Adam Schefter tweets. The Browns elevated RB Deon Jackson from the practice squad on Saturday, an indication that they're worried about Hunt's status. We'll get Cleveland's inactives around 11:30 am ET. RB Jerome Ford gets a significant boost if Hunt doesn't play.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Colts. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. We’re expecting Hunt to play but will get Cleveland’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. Hunt’s absence would be a big boost to RB Jerome Ford.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be available for this weekend's game vs. the Colts, but we'll see how he's listed on Friday's final injury report.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) did not practice on Wednesday. It's the first we've heard of the issue. It's possible that this was more of a rest day for the veteran. Check back tomorrow for another update on Hunt.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (ribs, groin) got in just two limited practices this week but isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll play vs. the Ravens on Sunday. Hunt tallied five carries and three targets on a 20% snap rate in his 2023 debut last week.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (ribs, groin) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Kevin Stefanski didn't express any concern about his availability for this weekend's game vs. the Ravens, but we'll keep an eye on his status over the next few days.

Browns RB Jerome Ford racked up two TDs in Week 3. Entering a tough matchup with Tennessee, the second-year back mustered only 1.8 YPC on 10 attempts. But he cashed in with one goal line score – and added a downfield TD catch while split out wide. Ford will remain on the RB2/FLEX radar for a Week 4 date with Baltimore. Note that Kareem Hunt mixed in for 5 carries (3 targets) in his 2023 debut.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt will play vs. the Titans on Sunday, HC Kevin Stefanski said. “How much will be determined” by how things go during the game, he added, according to insider Mary Kay Cabot. “He’s in good shape mentally and physically." We're expecting Hunt to have just a small role behind lead back Jerome Ford, but we'll certainly be keeping a close eye on how this Nick Chubb-less backfield evolves.

The Browns are signing RB Kareem Hunt to a one-year deal worth "up to" $4 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. This move seemed likely the minute RB Nick Chubb went down with his season-ending knee injury on Monday night. Hunt spent the past four seasons with the Browns, so he's familiar with HC Kevin Stefanski's offense. It's worth noting, though, that Hunt is now 28 and is coming off an inefficient 2022 season. He averaged just 3.8 yards per carry and ranked 35th among 48 qualifiers in NFL Next Gen Stats' Rush Yards Over Expected Per Attempt. We're still expecting RB Jerome Ford to get the first crack at lead duties but will keep a close eye on this backfield going forward. Both Ford and Hunt are worth rostering in all fantasy leagues.

Multiple reports Tuesday afternoon said RB Kareem Hunt is visiting the Browns. It makes sense, given that Hunt spent the past four seasons in Cleveland and the team just lost Nick Chubb for the year. The Browns elected to move on from Hunt to Jerome Ford last offseason, though, after Hunt produced dramatic declines in efficiency -- both rushing and receiving. He'd make plenty of sense as Cleveland's No. 2 back. But expect Ford to continue leading the backfield in work. We'll watch, of course, to see if this reunion actually happens.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski called Jerome Ford the team's "featured back" with Nick Chubb out for the rest of the season, according to insider Mary Kay Cabot. We'll see exactly what that means for Ford's snap rate and volume, but it's clear that he'll get the first crack at lead duties. He got off to a strong start in relief of Chubb on Monday night, ripping off 106 yards on 16 carries and catching three of four targets for 25 yards and a score. Kareem Hunt and Cam Akers are among the RBs the Browns are considering adding to the backfield, Cabot reports.

RB Kareem Hunt did not sign with the Saints on Tuesday, despite reports that he was expected to. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Hunt had a "great" visit in New Orleans but will now head to Indianapolis for a Wednesday meeting. The Colts recently added RB Kenyan Drake but remain without RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle/contract) and RB Zack Moss (wrist injury). We'll keep watching Hunt's travels. And Saints rookie RB Kendre Miller will certainly be interested in whether Hunt comes back to town.

Update: ESPN's Dianna Russini reports that Indy called Hunt and offered him more money before he even started working out with the Saints.
