Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (quad) was upgraded to full practice participation Thursday. That bodes well for his outlook Sunday against the Patriots. Don't expect Waddle to rise in our Week 1 WR rankings, though, with a challenging matchup and potentially low-scoring game.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (quad) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He missed most of August and evidently still isn't at 100%. But a limited workout early in the week puts him on track to play vs. the Patriots on Sunday. We'll get another update on Waddle's status tomorrow.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle practiced on Monday, according to The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson. Waddle missed most of August with a lower-body injury, but Miami never seemed very concerned about his Week 1 availability. We'll track his status on this week's injury report, but Waddle can be penciled into fantasy lineups for now.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Thursday that he's “very, very, very confident” WR Jaylen Waddle will be ready for Week 1. Waddle has been sidelined for about 3 weeks with what's believed to be a lower-body injury. McDaniel has downplayed the situation all along, so we'll see. We're monitoring the situation but haven't moved Waddle in the WR Rankings.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle hasn't practiced in ~10 days with what’s believed to be a “minor soft tissue injury,” per insider Adam Beasley. He’s sat out both preseason games. The team isn’t “outwardly concerned” about Waddle’s ability to play Week 1, but we’ll track the 2nd-year WR’s progress leading up to the opener vs. New England.
The Dolphins fired HC Brian Flores. This one was not expected. Flores lasted 3 seasons in Miami, compiling a 24-25 record. He won 19 games over the past 2 years, though, and seemed to have the Fins heading in the right direction. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Miami is retaining GM Chris Grier. "A power struggle in Miami," Rapoport tweeted. We'll see where the Dolphins go at HC.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle is set to be activated from the COVID list, HC Brian Flores said. So Waddle should get in a full week of practice and play vs. the Saints next Monday night. The rookie averaged 9.2 targets, 7.6 catches and 87.2 yards over his last 5 games.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle has been placed on the COVID list. He's a long shot to be cleared in time to play vs. the Jets on Sunday. His absence would leave WR DeVante Parker and TE Mike Gesicki as the clear top 2 options in Miami's passing game -- assuming they avoid the COVID list. QB Tua Tagovailoa's Week 15 fantasy stock takes a sizable hit without Waddle.
Dolphins WR Will Fuller (finger) won't play vs. the Ravens on Thursday night, HC Brian Flores said. There's no timetable for Fuller's return. With WR DeVante Parker on IR, WR Jaylen Waddle and TE Mike Gesicki will continue to dominate Dolphins targets.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs, finger) will not start today's game vs. the Texans, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Tua reportedly didn't feel good enough during pre-game warmups to start, but he will be active as QB Jacoby Brissett's backup. It's a missed opportunity in an excellent matchup. Brissett was decent in 3 starts earlier this season, averaging 230 yards and 1.3 TDs on a 67% completion rate but just 5.8 yards per attempt. He's only in play in 2-QB and Superflex leagues and is a slight downgrade for Miami's offense.
The Dolphins placed WR DeVante Parker on IR after he suffered a setback with his hamstring injury in practice this week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. So he'll miss at least the next 3 games vs. the Texans, Ravens and Jets. We'll see if Parker is ready come Week 12, but he's certainly not a must-stash on fantasy rosters. WR Jaylen Waddle and TE Mike Gesicki both get target boosts with Parker out.
Dolphins WR DeVante Parker had a setback in practice this week and will be listed as doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Texans, HC Brian Flores said. It's unclear if Parker's setback was to his shoulder or hamstring. He's seen nice volume when on the field this season but hasn't been able to stay healthy. Parker's absence on Sunday boosts the volume projections for WR Jaylen Waddle and TE Mike Gesicki.
Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (shoulder, hamstring) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars. WR Preston Williams (groin) is listed as questionable, while WR Will Fuller (finger) remains on IR. Jaylen Waddle, Mack Hollins, Albert Wilson and Isaiah Ford are Miami's healthy WRs right now.
Dolphins HC Brian Flores confirmed that QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) is on track to start Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars, barring a setback between now and then. We wouldn't trust Tagovailoa in starting lineups outside of 2-QB leagues, but he should be an upgrade over QB Jacoby Brissett for Miami's offense.
Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (shoulder, hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bucs. With WR Will Fuller also out, Miami is down to WRs Jaylen Waddle, Preston Williams, Albert Wilson and Mack Hollins. Waddle and TE Mike Gesicki are strong target bets today.
ESPN's Jeff Darlington reports that Dolphins WR DeVante Parker won't play vs. the Bucs today. Parker dealt with hamstring tightness late in the week. With WR Will Fuller (finger) also out, Miami is down to WRs Jaylen Waddle, Preston Williams, Albert Wilson and Mack Hollins. Waddle and TE Mike Gesicki are strong target bets today.
Dolphins WR Will Fuller is active for today’s game vs. the Raiders. It’ll be his team debut after missing Week 1 on suspension and Week 2 for a personal issue. We’ll see how snaps and targets are divvied between Fuller, Jaylen Waddle and DeVante Parker. But it’s a situation to try to avoid this week with Jacoby Brissett under center. WRs Preston Williams and Albert Wilson are healthy scratches for Miami.
Dolphins WR Will Fuller will not play against the Bills on Sunday due to a personal issue, HC Brian Flores said. We'll see whether Fuller is able to make his Dolphins debut in Week 3. Jaylen Waddle and DeVante Parker will again operate as Miami's top 2 WRs this weekend.
Update: Flores added that there's currently no timetable for Fuller’s return.
Dolphins WR DeVante Parker will open training camp on the PUP list. No word yet on the specifics, but it’s a rough start nevertheless for a WR with his injury history. Miami brought in serious target competition this offseason — Will Fuller and Jaylen Waddle — making Parker a long-shot for WR3 value.
