Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
The Dolphins are signing Edge Jason Pierre-Paul from the Saints' practice squad, in the wake of Edge Jaelan Phillips' season-ending Achilles' tear. That means Miami will need to keep JPP on the active roster. We'd still bet on the veteran playing a small role, though, likely trailing at least Bradley Chubb, Andrew Van Ginkel, and Emmanuel Ogbah in snaps among edge players.
Edge Jason Pierre-Paul will sign with the Saints, according to CBS' Josina Anderson. Pierre-Paul is an interesting addition for the New Orleans defense, but it's hard to imagine much fantasy impact. He tallied just 3 sacks -- plus 5 passes defensed -- over 14 games with the Ravens last season. JPP's now 34.
The Ravens have signed EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul to a 1-year deal worth up to $5 million, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Baltimore has just 7 sacks through 3 games, despite facing a league-high 141 pass attempts. The only Raven with 2+ sacks so far is EDGE Justin Houston, who left Sunday's win over the Patriots with a groin injury. We'd bet on JPP quickly working into the rotation, though we'll need to see his playing time before considering him for IDP lineups.
Buccaneers S Antoine Winfield (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets. Tampa Bay has ruled out EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder). That leaves the Bucs without both edge starters, as Shaq Barrett is already out for at least the rest of the regular season.
Buccaneers CB Jamel Dean (illness) is active for today's game against the Panthers. As expected, EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder) is out. He hit the weekend doubtful.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Panthers with a shoulder injury.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) is active for today's game against Washington. He has been playing through questionable tags since returning from his shoulder injury. JPP saw his normal playing time last week and should be fine for IDP use -- especially in a high-upside matchup.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul is questionable for Sunday's game against Washington. He sat out practice all week with shoulder and hand injuries, despite coming off the bye. But JPP did the same thing for Week 8 and played through a questionable tag for his highest snap share since Week 1. We'll confirm Pierre-Paul's status Sunday, but expect him to play.
Buccaneers LB Lavonte David, EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) and CB Richard Sherman (hamstring) are active for today's game against the Saints.
Buccaneers LB Lavonte David (ankle), EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) and CB Richard Sherman (hamstring) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints. David finished the week with a full practice and should be ready to return. JPP missed practice all week but did so last week as well and then played through a questionable tag. Sherman was limited all week but shouldn't be in anyone's IDP plans anyway.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) is active for today's game against the Bears. He missed practice all week but has been seeing near-usual playing time since returning from missing 2 games with his shoulder injury.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears. JPP has been managing the shoulder and hand injuries since before this week. He missed practice all this week, though, after putting in limited workouts all last week and playing through a questionable tag. HC Bruce Arians told reporters Friday just that Pierre-Paul has a chance to play Sunday. Unfortunately, the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff means we might not know his status before the early games. We'll keep an eye out for any updates.
The Buccaneers have ruled LB Lavonte David (ankle) and S Antoine Winfield (concussion) out for Thursday night's game against the Eagles. That will allow S Mike Edwards to start in Winfield's place for the 2nd straight week and give LB Kevin Minter starting duty. EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder) is questionable, though Wednesday's estimated injury report called him a "full" participant. JPP played through a questionable tag in Week 5 and got near his normal snap share in his return from a shoulder injury.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul and CB Jamel Dean are active for today's game against the Dolphins. JPP missed the past 2 contests with a shoulder injury but carries intriguing IDP upside into this contest.
The Buccaneers have ruled S Antoine Winfield out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins because of a concussion. With CBs Carlton Davis and Sean Murphy-Bunting already on IR, that means the Tampa Bay secondary will look quite different from its season-opening version. The Bucs will at least get CB Jamel Dean back from a knee injury that knocked him out early in Week 3 and kept him out last Sunday night. HC Bruce Arians also said EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul is ready to return from the shoulder injury that cost him the past 2 games, according to Greg Auman of The Athletic.
The Buccaneers have downgraded EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder) to out for Sunday night's game against the Patriots. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka will start in his place.
ESPN's Jenna Laine reports that Buccaneers HC Bruce Arians called EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul a game-time decision for Sunday against the Patriots. Pierre-Paul missed Week 3 with a shoulder injury that then allowed him only a limited Friday practice this week. We'll watch his status, but don't count on having JPP available. The Sunday night kickoff makes it even more difficult to wait for him. The Bucs have already ruled CB Jamel Dean (knee) out for the game.
Buccaneers EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul is out for Sunday's game against the Rams. He's listed with both hand and shoulder injuries, but the shoulder is the bigger issue. We'll see how long he remains out.
