Donovan Peoples-Jones Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Browns WR Jarvis Landry (knee) was not elevated to the active roster on Saturday and won't play against the Cardinals tomorrow. Landry got back on the practice field this week and seems likely to return for Week 7's game vs. the Broncos. Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones will continue to serve as Cleveland's #2 and #3 WRs tomorrow.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that WR Odell Beckham Jr. will not play Sunday against the Texans, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Beckham missed Week 1 as well, despite reported optimism leading up to game day. We'll see about his participation in Week 3 practices.

Browns WR Odell Beckham (knee) is INACTIVE for today’s game against the Chiefs. It’s a major surprise after Beckham trended in a positive direction throughout August. We assume he’ll debut next week, but we’ll see. Beckham’s absence today should move WR Donovan Peoples-Jones into the starting lineup. WR Jarvis Landry and TE Austin Hooper also get target boosts.

According to Zac Jackson of The Athletic, Browns WR Donovan Peoples-Jones is "absolutely lighting up training camp." The 2nd-year wideout is reportedly impressing with his size, speed and hands, and showing a good connection with QB Baker Mayfield. This unpadded portion of workouts is ideal for WRs to stand out, of course, but DPJ could be winning the #3 job. He's competing primarily with Rashard Higgins, who returned on a 1-year deal in free agency. We certainly liked the athletic upside on Peoples-Jones, who arrived as a 6th-round pick despite a stellar Combine workout. He's at least worth hanging onto in dynasty leagues where possible. Another injury to Odell Beckham or Jarvis Landry this year would present intriguing opportunity.

Browns LG Joel Bitonio and WR KhaDarel Hodge have tested positive for COVID and are out for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Steelers. Bitonio, one of the best Gs in the league, is the big loss. Hodge's absence locks Donovan Peoples-Jones in as Cleveland's #3 WR for this one. HC Kevin Stefanski also has COVID and won't be available for the Steelers game. The Browns offense is in an extremely tough spot.

Browns WRs Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge have been placed on the COVID list as high-risk close contacts and are out for Sunday's game against the Jets. Those are Cleveland's top 4 WRs. Marvin Hall is the only other WR on the active roster. Ja'Marcus Bradley and Derrick Willies are on the practice squad. We wouldn't mess with that situation in Week 16 fantasy lineups. TEs Austin Hooper, Harrison Bryant and David Njoku should be busy tomorrow. Baker Mayfield, meanwhile, goes from a solid QB1 play to a shaky QB2. Expect a run-heavy game plan from Cleveland.

Update: Bradley and Willies have been promoted from the practice squad.
