Denver Broncos Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Broncos DL Dre'Mont Jones (calf) and Shelby Harris (wrist, illness) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens. We'll check their statuses Sunday afternoon, but neither is a high-profile IDP option.

Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb had surgery Wednesday to remove a bone spur from his left ankle. He's expected to need 7-8 weeks to recover but plans to play again this season. While he's on IR, expect Malik Reed to get primary playing time opposite Von Miller. Reed is an upside matchup play for sack-friendly IDP scoring formats while he's in the lineup.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Broncos LB Josey Jewell tore a pectoral muscle in Sunday's win over the Jaguars and will miss the rest of the season. That let's Justin Strnad step into the starting lineup and makes him a deep-league option for IDP rosters. Alexander Johnson, meanwhile, should see his scoring floor rise as a better bet to lead the position in playing time.

Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb (ankle) is active for today's game against the Jaguars. Don't be surprised, though, if his snaps are limited in his 1st action of the season.

ESNP's Adam Schefter reports that Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb (ankle) will "probably" make his season debut against the Jaguars today. Chubb is officially questionable with what has been a lingering issue since offseason surgery. We'd try to wait at least a game before popping him into IDP lineups. It's tough to know how big a role Chubb will play right away. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says it's a "game-time decision."

Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb (ankle) is inactive for today's game against the Giants. Malik Reed figures to pick up the most snaps in Chubb's absence.

Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants. He returned for limited practices Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday's workout. Ian Rapoport reports that Chubb isn't likely to play his full role even if he's active for the game. Chubb is still working back from May ankle surgery.

Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb is out of practice this week because of an ankle injury. “He tweaked his ankle last week in practice; still bothering him a little bit so we’re going to give him this week to get it right,” HC Vic Fangio said Wednesday, via Aric DiLalla of the team website. It's reportedly not the ankle that Chubb had surgery on this offseason. We'll see if he returns to practice next week, ahead of the regular-season opener.

Broncos HC Vic Fangio said he expects RB Melvin Gordon, WR Courtland Sutton and OLB Von Miller to play in the team's 3rd -- and final -- preseason game. That'll be a good chance for us to gauge Gordon's usage vs. Javonte Williams', as well as Sutton's fitness as he works back from the 2020 ACL tear. It also indicates Denver will treat that 3rd preseason game as a dress rehearsal for the regular season. Don't be surprised if we also get the Week 1 starter at QB announced ahead of that Saturday contest against the Rams.
