David Njoku Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday night's game vs. the Bengals. He'll likely miss multiple games with his high-ankle sprain. Njoku's absence leaves Harrison Bryant as Cleveland's lead TE. TE Pharaoh Brown (concussion, neck) is listed as questionable after returning to a limited practice on Saturday.

Browns TE David Njoku suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 7 loss to the Ravens, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Schefter gives Njoku a 2-5 week timetable for return, but high-ankle sprains tend to keep guys out at least 4 weeks. Njoku is only worth stashing in deep leagues and TE-premium leagues. His absence leaves Harrison Bryant as Cleveland's lead TE -- and a potential low-end fantasy spot starter.

A source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter that Browns TE David Njoku's ankle injury “isn’t serious" and that “he will be OK.” It's good news, especially after word that Njoku was in a walking boot and on crutches after the loss to Baltimore. We're still expecting Njoku to miss some time, but we should have a better idea about his timeline for return by tomorrow night.

Browns TE David Njoku was in a walking boot and on crutches after injuring his ankle in Sunday's loss to the Ravens, according to insider Mary Kay Cabot. We should learn more about his status on Monday, but fantasy owners should obviously be preparing for him to miss time.

Browns TE David Njoku has been ruled out of Sunday's game vs. the Ravens with an ankle injury. He racked up 71 yards on 7 catches before exiting. We'll update his status when we know more.

Browns TE David Njoku delivered his 3rd straight game with at least 5 receptions and more than 70 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. He caught all 6 of his targets for a team-high 88 yards. that followed receiving lines of 9-89-1 and 5-73. Njoku is a weekly TE1 as of now.

Browns TE David Njoku caught 5 balls among 7 targets for a team-with 73 yards in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. He tied for the team reception lead with WR Donovan Peoples-Jones, who led Cleveland with 9 targets. DPJ collected 71 yards. No other Brown exceeded 35 yards receiving. TE Harrison Bryant was the only other player with more than 2 receptions. He caught 4 of 6 targets for 18 yards. WR Amari Cooper drew just 4 looks and caught only 1 for 9 yards.

Browns TE David Njoku managed 3 grabs (5 targets) for 32 yards in Week 2. Nothing exciting to report here, although Njoku just missed scoring when he failed to keep his feet in bounds. He added 1 drop that would have gone for a first down. Through 2 weeks, Njoku’s been out-targeted (8-6) and out-produced (63 yards vs. 39 yards) by TE Harrison Bryant. Next up is a tough Thursday night matchup vs. Pittsburgh.

Browns TE David Njoku garnered just 1 target in Sunday's win over the Panthers, trailing Harrison Bryant (4) among other teammates. Njoku did run a route on 74% of QB Jacoby Brissett's dropbacks. So there's hope for his opportunities increase. But Njoku shouldn't be in Week 2 lineups, if you can help it.

Following a settlement between the Browns and the league, QB Deshaun Watson will be suspended 11 games. He’ll pay a $5 million fine and be required to enter a treatment program. Watson’s now scheduled to make his Browns debut in Week 13… at Houston. The 11-game suspension makes Watson undraftable outside of deep 2-QB leagues and maybe as a last-round pick in best-ball tournaments. The fantasy values of guys like Nick Chubb, Amari Cooper and David Njoku also take a hit with the news. We'll see if Cleveland makes a move for QB Jimmy Garoppolo.

After visiting Browns camp and speaking with team officials, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler believes TE Harrison Bryant will play a “pivotal role” come Week 1. The #2 TE is described as "a safety value, available on screens and intermediate routes.” It’s quite possible we see more 2-TE looks, especially with Cleveland’s WR depth unproven. Bryant's totaled only 45 catches through 2 seasons but brings Round 4 draft capital and huge college production. Still, the presence of David Njoku and the uncertainty surrounding Deshaun Watson leave Bryant as just a late option in deep FFPC formats.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski gave his assessment of TE David Njoku. “He is young,” Stefanski said during OTAs. “I do not know if he physically can grow any more, but his game can grow. That is a conversation I have had with him. I do expect his game to grow, and it is not as simple as saying, ‘Hey, we are going to throw more balls to you.’ I think his game will grow, and you will see it in the run game and in the pass game, and you will see it kind of throughout. I think he is committed to that. David wants to get better, and to be 25, I think you have that opportunity to get better.” This comes after Stefanski said he wants to “feature” Njoku last month. The TE's new contract —combined with the departure of Austin Hooper — only supports that claim. The only downside here is Deshaun Watson’s looming suspension.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday, "we certainly want to feature" TE David Njoku. The team has backed that up with their offseason moves, releasing TE Austin Hooper and giving Njoku a 4-year, $56.75 million extension. Throw in a QB upgrade with the arrival of Deshaun Watson, and Njoku is lined up for a nice fantasy season. He's a target at his current TE19 ADP in FFPC best-ball drafts.

The Browns have agreed to a 4-year, $56.75 million extension with TE David Njoku, NFL Network reports. The deal includes $28 million guaranteed and makes him the league's 5th highest paid TE by annual average. Njoku looks like a 2022 breakout candidate and sits inside the top 15 of our dynasty fantasy football rankings.

The Browns are using the franchise tag to keep TE Davis Njoku from reaching free agency, according to NFL Network. It’s not a surprising move, given recent reports they were hoping to resign the TE. Njoku’s best statistical season to date came back in 2018, when he caught 56 balls for 639 yards and 4 TDs. He hasn’t otherwise exceeded 36 receptions or 475 yards. Cleveland still has Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant on the roster as well, though Hooper looks like a cut candidate. Njoku looks ok as a late best-ball pick in early drafting. He’s a high-ceiling athlete for the position and is heading into just his age-26 season

Browns TE David Njoku (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He’ll continue sharing time with TEs Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant.

Browns TE David Njoku (shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. Njoku’s absence would be a slight boost for TEs Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant.
