Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
A week after Raiders TE Foster Moreau spent more snaps on the field than TE Darren Waller, he again checked in at 50% snap share for Sunday's loss to the Titans. The pair also finished with a matching 5 targets and 3 catches. But the Tennessee game actually marked Waller's best route-participation rate of the young season. He went from running a route on 81.8% of Derek Carr dropbacks in Week 1 to just 61% in Week 2, but then 87.5% against the Titans. Las Vegas missed WR Hunter Renfrow (concussion) for that game. We'll see which TE is affected more by Renfrow's return.
Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans. We’ll see if he can get cleared for Week 4. Renfrow’s absence will leave Tyron Johnson and Keelan Cole as Vegas’ #3 and #4 WRs behind Davante Adams and Mack Hollins. Adams and TE Darren Waller should dominate Raiders targets this weekend.
Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow (concussion) remained sidelined on Thursday. He's now looking like a long shot to play vs. the Titans this weekend. We'll see how Vegas replaces Renfrow's slot snaps. WRs Tyron Johnson and Keelan Cole are behind primary outside WRs Davante Adams and Mack Hollins.
Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow led the team with 10 targets in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, catching 7 of them for 59 yards. TE Darren Waller tied WR Mack Hollins for 2nd on the team with 8 looks, catching 6 for 50 yards and a TD. Hollins hauled in 5 balls for 66 yards. WR Davante Adams followed with 7 targets but managed just 2 receptions for 12 yards. He did, at least, catch Carr's other TD.
Raiders TE Darren Waller ended Week 1 with 4 grabs for 79 yards. He saw 6 targets, tied with Hunter Renfrow for 2nd on the team behind clear-cut leader Davante Adams (17). Waller posted chunk gains of 31 and 23 yards, with the 31-yarder nearly going for a score. He should have scored earlier on an end zone ball, but the Derek Carr pass was thrown well behind. So, Waller will look for his first TD this week vs. Arizona. He'll remain a strong TE1 for that one.
The Raiders and TE Darren Waller agreed to a 3-year, $51 million contract extension. The deal makes Waller the league's newest highest-paid TE in average annual salary and locks him in with the Raiders through the 2026 season. It's confirmation that Waller will remain a big part of this new Josh McDaniels offense.
Raiders TE Darren Waller isn't listed on the Week 1 injury report. He missed most of August with hamstring and/or contract trouble, but neither issue is a concern moving forward.
Raiders TE Darren Waller said Tuesday that he's ready to play in Sunday's opener against the Chargers, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He has only been back at practice since Aug. 31, but the hamstring that kept Waller out for nearly all of August is apparently good to go.
Raiders TE Darren Waller returned to practice on Wednesday. The veteran previously missed time with a hamstring injury. He also remains in pursuit of a new contract and recently signed on with super agent Drew Rosenhaus. “Darren’s good, Darren’s good to go,” HC Josh McDaniels said early Wednesday. “You’ll see him today. I don’t really know anything about that whole situation yet. He’ll be out there today and we’re excited about moving forward here with our whole group and trying to get guys in positions where we feel like they’re going to be as we head into the opening week next week.”
Raiders HC Josh McDaniels wouldn't commit on Wednesday to TE Darren Waller being ready for the start of the season. according to The Athletic's Tashan Reed. Waller has missed basically all of training camp with a hamstring injury. "He is working his butt off," McDaniels said. "He knows he is going to be a big part of our team." Waller still has about 2-and-a-half weeks before the opener, but this has become a situation to keep a close eye on. We wouldn't blame you for shying away from Waller at ADP until he gets back on the field.
Raiders TE Darren Waller returned to practice on Wednesday. He'd been out since July 30 with a hamstring injury. Barring a setback, though, consider Waller's fantasy stock unaffected.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Raiders TE Darren Waller has been missing practice with a hamstring injury. He's been out since July 30, but Schefter says the injury is "not considered serious." We'll see when Waller is able to get back on the field. We're not adjusting his 2022 projections as of now.
Raiders TE Darren Waller has been sidelined since July 30 with an undisclosed injury, according to The Athletic's Tashan Reed. We're not panicking with the regular season still a month away, but hopefully Waller is able to get back on the field soon. He missed about 2 weeks last summer with an ankle injury and then lost 6 games and most of a 7th with ankle and knee injuries.
Raiders TE Darren Waller (knee) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Chargers. It’ll be his first action since Week 12, adding risk to Waller’s fantasy profile. But there’s plenty of upside in the matchup vs. the #28 TE defense.
The Raiders expect TE Darren Waller (knee) to play in tonight's game against the Chargers, ESPN reports. He's officially questionable but should be available for fantasy football lineups.
Raiders TE Darren Waller (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Chargers. He got in 3 limited practices this week. Interim HC Rich Bisaccia said Monday that Waller was expected back for this must-win game, and he seems to still be on track.
Raiders TE Darren Waller (knee, back) was limited in Wednesday's practice. Interim HC Rich Bisaccia said Monday that Waller is expected back for Sunday night's game vs. the Chargers, but we'll keep an eye on his progress over the next few days.
Raiders interim HC Rich Bisaccia said Monday that TE Darren Waller is expected back for Sunday night's game vs. the Chargers. We haven't seen Waller since he suffered knee and back injuries in Week 12. He was placed on the COVID list on Wednesday and remains there as of Monday night. We'll see when Waller is cleared and then what he does in practice this week.
Raiders TE Darren Waller has been placed on the COVID list. He reportedly had a shot to return this week from his knee and back injuries, but he's now unlikely to play vs. the Colts on Sunday. Waller's absence would make TE Foster Moreau a strong spot starter against the league's 31st-ranked TE defense.
Raiders interim HC Rich Bisaccia said Monday that he's "optimistic" TE Darren Waller will return to practice Wednesday, according to Bill Williamson of SB Nation. Bisaccia added that even a Thursday return to practice would still give Waller a chance at playing Sunday against the Colts. We'll watch the star TE's progress this week en route to a high-upside matchup with Indy. Waller's return would knock Foster Moreau out of serious fantasy-lineup consideration. If Waller can't go, then Moreau would carry intrigue.
