Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Lions QB Jared Goff (oblique) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Browns. QB Tim Boyle gets his 1st career start. We’re not expecting it to go well.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams (thigh) is expected to play vs. the Browns today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Williams averaged 10.1 carries and 2.6 targets over the season's first 7 games. He'd be a desperation fantasy play but is certainly bad news for RB D'Andre Swift's touch projection.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams (thigh) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Browns. He’s not a fantasy option, but if he returns he’d likely steal a handful of touches from RB D’Andre Swift.
Lions QB Tim Boyle is expected to start Sunday's game vs. the Browns, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. QB Jared Goff didn't practice all week with his oblique injury. Boyle has 4 regular-season pass attempts to his name. He went undrafted back in 2018 after completing 55.5% of his passes, averaging 5.6 yards per attempt and tossing 12 TDs vs. 26 INTs across 4 college seasons (3 at UConn, 1 at Eastern Kentucky). There's a good chance this is a total disaster for the Lions offense. Downgrade RB D'Andre Swift and TE T.J. Hockenson.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams (thigh) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. That presumably puts him on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Browns. Williams isn't a viable fantasy option, but his return would siphon a few touches from RB D'Andre Swift.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams (thigh) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Steelers. RB D’Andre Swift busted with Williams out for Detroit’s last game. But Williams’ absence is still a boost to Swift’s Week 10 fantasy value.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams (thigh) did not practice on Wednesday. He missed Week 8 with this injury and is now in danger of missing Sunday's game vs. the Steelers. Williams' absence would be a boost for RB D'Andre Swift.
Lions RB Jamaal Williams (thigh) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Eagles. It’s a surprise after he’d been playing through questionable tags most of the season. Williams’ absence is a significant boost to RB D’Andre Swift’s Week 8 fantasy value.
Lions RBs D'Andre Swift (groin) and Jamaal Williams (hip) are active for today’s game vs. the Vikings. We’re expecting both guys to be available to play their usual roles.
Lions RBs D'Andre Swift (groin) and Jamaal Williams (hip) were limited in practice all week and are listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. This has been the case with Swift all season, so there's no reason to worry there. It's a new injury for Williams, but we've heard nothing to suggest that it's a real concern. We'll get Detroit's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.
Lions RB D'Andre Swift (groin) is active for today’s game vs. the Ravens. He was listed as questionable -- like he was the past 2 weeks -- but Swift should be ready to play his usual role.
Lions RB D'Andre Swift (groin) is once again listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Ravens. He was "questionable" the past 2 weeks but hasn't seemed limited at all, totaling 19 carries and 16 targets. Unless we hear otherwise, Swift is safe to get into Week 3 fantasy lineups.
Lions RB D'Andre Swift (groin) is active for tonight's game against the Packers. He was listed as questionable but practiced all week, including a full workout on Saturday. We're not expecting him to be limited tonight.
Lions RB D'Andre Swift is questionable for Monday night's game against the Packers. He's still dealing with the groin issue that limited his practice time in training camp. Swift put in a full practice Saturday, though, after being limited the previous 2 days. RBs coach Duce Staley said Friday that the injury carries "no concern" going forward, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. We'll go ahead and assume Swift plays, and we'll update his status Monday.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero is told that Lions RB Jamaal Williams will start and "carry the load" vs. the 49ers today. RB D'Andre Swift is expected to be used mostly on 3rd downs, per Pelissero. That's contrary to RB Duce Staley saying earlier this week that Swift won't be on a snap count. But it's worth remembering that Swift didn't practice much in August due to groin trouble. Consider this a shaky backfield to invest in this week.
Lions RB D’Andre Swift (groin) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. RBs coach Duce Staley suggested earlier in the week that Swift won’t be on any type of snap count in Sunday’s opener vs. the 49ers. He’s a solid RB2 for that one.
Lions RBs coach Duce Staley doesn't plan on keeping RB D'Andre Swift on a snap count in Sunday's opener vs. the 49ers, despite Swift missing much of August with a groin issue. "I get caught up in the game, he’s going to get caught up in the game and every good player, every good running back that I know, anyway, once you start feeling it, you don’t want to pull him off," Staley said. "We can count the reps Monday." We'll see if HC Dan Campbell and/or OC Anthony Lynn have a say in Swift's workload. But Swift's Week 1 fantasy outlook continues to trend in a positive direction.
Lions RB D'Andre Swift (groin) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Despite some earlier concern about his Week 1 status, it's starting to look like Swift will be ready for a significant role in Sunday's opener vs. the 49ers.
Lions HC Dan Campbell said Tuesday that RB D'Andre Swift will play against the 49ers this weekend. There's still a question of just how much action Swift will be able to handle after missing most of August with a groin issue. Consider him a risk/reward RB2 for the opener.
Lions RB D'Andre Swift had a good practice on Tuesday, according to The Athletic's Chris Burke. "Broke a long run, cut well," Burke tweeted. "Made a *great* jump cut to turn a short run off the right side into a long TD and didn't seem at all hesitant between the tackles. A step forward." This comes on the same day that HC Dan Campbell conceded that he's not sure what kind of shape Swift will be in for Week 1 after missing most of August with a groin issue. Swift will be 1 of the more important players to monitor over the next couple of weeks.
