Dalton Schultz Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy said Monday that his team will play its starters in Saturday night's regular-season finale at Philadelphia. "We're going to line up to do what we need to do to win the game," McCarthy told reporters, according to The Athletic's Jon Machota. We wouldn't be shocked if RB Ezekiel Elliott gets the night off to rest his knee, or if the Eagles decide to rest starters and thus present a light challenge. For now, though, you should assume that any active Cowboys on your fantasy football roster will be going in Week 18.

Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy tested positive for COVID and will miss Thursday night's game vs. the Saints, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. McCarthy is 1 of 8 members of the Cowboys to test positive, Schefter adds. It's unclear how many are players. We'll keep you updated.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (concussion) is out for today's game vs. the Raiders, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Lamb has made some progress through the protocol but was always a long shot to get cleared for this Thursday game. With WR Amari Cooper (COVID) also out, Dallas is down to WRs Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson, Noah Brown and Malik Turner. TE Dalton Schultz should also play a big role in the passing game today.

The Cowboys have placed TE Blake Jarwin on IR with his hip injury. That means he'll miss at least the next 3 games, which can only help the target outlook for TE Dalton Schultz. Sean McKeon and Jeremy Sprinkle sit behind him on the depth chart.

Cowboys TE Blake Jarwin (hip) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Broncos. He’s averaged 2.1 targets per game on the season and just 1 per game over the last 3, so this is just a slight boost for TE Dalton Schultz.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (calf) is inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Vikings. He was seemingly close to playing, but Dallas is playing it safe here. We’re expecting Prescott back next week. QB Cooper Rush makes his 1st career start tonight -- a clear downgrade for Cowboys pass catchers.

The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken tweets, "It would surprise many close to situation if Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (calf) starts Sunday vs. Vikings." On top of his calf issue, Prescott left the team on Friday following the death of his grandmother. He's back with the team now and traveled to Minnesota. But Gehlken notes that backup QB Cooper Rush saw the "most meaningful reps" of the practice week. At this point, we're leaning toward Prescott missing Sunday night's game. But we'll see if we get a more concrete update on Sunday morning.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game against the Vikings. He was limited in practice all week. Prescott felt and looked good in practice by all accounts, but he’s admitted that the team has the final say on whether he plays Sunday night. That decision is expected to be made on Saturday. QB Cooper Rush will make his 1st career start if Prescott is out. Stay tuned.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz missed the team's 2nd preseason game with a "minor" ankle sprain, according to the Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken. "Fully expected to be ready for start of season," Gehlken adds. We'll see when Schultz is able to get back on the field, but his absence will give TE Blake Jarwin a shot to lay claim to the starting job.
