Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (calf) did not practice on Wednesday. He's been sidelined since injuring his calf in practice last Thursday. Fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on Cooks to play vs. the Cowboys this weekend.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (calf) is out for this weekend's game vs. the Browns. He evidently injured his calf on Thursday and didn't practice on Friday. We'll see if he misses time beyond Week 13. His absence on Sunday leaves Nico Collins as Houston's #1 WR, with Chris Moore and Phillip Dorsett the #2 and #3.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (hip, wrist) isn’t listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders. He put in full practices on Thursday and Friday after sitting out on Wednesday. The hip and wrist aren’t concerns, but Cooks is a shaky WR3 play after running a route on just 62% of pass plays last week.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (hip, wrist) returned to a full practice on Thursday. He'll be available for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders but is a shaky WR3 after seeing his snaps scaled back last week.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (hip, wrist) did not practice on Wednesday. He's been sitting out most Wednesdays this year, but the hip injury is new. We'll get another update on Cooks tomorrow.
Despite the return of disgruntled veteran WR Brandin Cooks, 2nd-year WR Nico Collins led the team in targets (10) and catches (5) in Sunday's loss to the Giants. Collins also played more snaps (50-41) than Cooks and ran more routes (33-26). Collins took his 5 receptions for 49 yards, ranking 3rd behind TE Jordan Akins (3-72) and WR Chris Moore (3-70). Collins did claim the team's only TD reception. Moore tied Cooks for 2nd on the team in pass routes, with Akins and WR Phillip Dorsett just 5 routes behind. Cooks will need to pick back up in that area to comfortably reside in fantasy WR3 territory going forward. To be fair, he did catch a 19-yard TD in the 4th quarter Sunday that was nullified by a holding penalty. A Week 11 matchup with the Commanders presents upside for the Houston passing game.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (wrist) is active for today’s game vs. the Giants. Underwhelming even before the wrist injury and trade drama, Cooks is no better than a WR3 in Week 10 fantasy lineups. WR Nico Collins (groin) is also active for Houston and should step back in as the #2 WR.
ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Texans WR Brandin Cooks (wrist) is likely to play against the Giants today. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable. That follows last week's healthy scratch after Cooks demanded a trade. The team has revoked Cooks' captaincy as a result of that demand, according to Rapoport. We're expecting Cooks to play his usual role today, but there's at least some risk that that's not the case.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (wrist) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Giants. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Between this wrist injury, his recent trade request and Houston’s lackluster passing game, Cooks is a shaky Week 10 fantasy play. WR Nico Collins (groin) is also listed as questionable after 3 limited practices.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (wrist) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We'll see what he does tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Giants. WR Nico Collins (groin) remained limited on Thursday.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks (wrist) did not practice on Wednesday. He's expected to play vs. the Giants this weekend -- if his health allows it. Cooks played through this wrist injury in Week 8. We'll see if he's able to practice tomorrow. WR Nico Collins (groin) got in a limited practice on Wednesday.
NFL Network's Steve Smith said he talked with Texans WR Brandin Cooks and that the veteran will be returning to the team ahead of the Week 10 game against the Giants. That's what we anticipated, given that Cooks is signed through 2024. Expect the wideout to get back to his role as lead target for Houston -- and WR3 for fantasy football lineups.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks is officially inactive for tonight's game vs. the Eagles. Try to avoid Houston's passing game if you can help it. But if you're playing 1-game DFS contests, the Texans' WRs tonight are Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore, Tyron Johnson and Jalen Camp. Woof.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks is not expected to play tonight against the Eagles, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cooks has not returned to team headquarters this week, while expressing disappointment over not being traded. Mike Garafolo reports that Cooks and the team will "continue to talk and try for a reset." We'll see where this situation goes, but Cooks' only option besides returning is to sit out in violation of his contract. We wouldn't drop Cooks from fantasy football rosters just yet if you can help it.
Texans WR Brandin Cooks' status for tonight's game vs. the Eagles is "in doubt," according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "It's difficult to believe, given that Cooks hasn't been around all week, that he's going to play in this game, but no final determination on that just yet," Pelissero adds. Cooks didn't practice on Tuesday or Wednesday and publicly voiced displeasure over the fact that he wasn't traded. We'll get Houston's inactives around 7 pm ET tonight.
The Texans list WR Brandin Cooks as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Eagles. There is no injury challenging Cooks' availability. He has simply been away from the team for personal reasons this week, while Houston elected not to accept any trade offers for the veteran. It's not clear how the 2 sides will proceed. The Texans clearly want him to continue playing. Cooks has indicated he'd be happier elsewhere ... but also signed an extension before the season. We'll see about his status ahead of the Thursday night game. Houston also ruled WR Nico Collins (groin) out. So the passing game would be in real trouble (even more than usual) without Cooks.
