Boston Scott Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Eagles RB Boston Scott (illness) is expected to play vs. the Jets today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Scott missed all 3 practices this week, so there's a chance his role his impacted today. Still, the matchup against the league's 32nd-ranked RB defense makes Scott worth considering as a RB3 or flex.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Jets, according to Eagles writer Derrick Gunn. That will make Gardner Minshew the starter. Gunn adds that RB Boston Scott will be a game-time decision. Scott is dealing with an illness that kept him out of practice all week. With Jordan Howard ruled out, Miles Sanders could be in for a bigger-than-normal workload in 1 of the league's most favorable matchups for RB scoring.

Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Hurts "very well may be out" but that the team wants to "see how Hurts is feeling" Sunday before making a final decision on his status. It still sounds like you should make alternate plans at QB if you had been planning to use Hurts.

Eagles RB Jordan Howard (knee) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Jets. RB Boston Scott (illness) is listed as questionable after missing practice all week. Players rarely miss games with non-COVID illnesses, so we're expecting Scott to be active. But you'll need to check back around 11:30 am ET on Sunday to make sure. RB Miles Sanders (ankle) isn't listed on the final injury report and should lead the backfield vs. the Jets' 32nd-ranked RB defense.

Eagles RB Miles Sanders (ankle) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. He's on track to play vs. the Jets this weekend. RBs Boston Scott (illness) and Jordan Howard (knee) have yet to practice this week. Howard will likely miss Sunday's game. We're still expecting Scott to play, but Sanders will be the best fantasy bet in the backfield.

Eagles RB Jordan Howard (knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Giants. He reportedly has a shot to be back for Week 13. Howard’s absence this weekend will leave Miles Sanders and Boston Scott as Philly’s primary ball-carriers vs. the league’s 27th-ranked RB defense.

Eagles RB Jordan Howard will "likely" miss Sunday's game vs. the Giants with a sprained knee, HC Nick Sirianni said Monday. Sirianni added that Howard has a good chance to return for Week 13. Howard was basically splitting carries with RB Miles Sanders before exiting yesterday's game, so his absence is a boost for Sanders. Of course, RB Boston Scott will remain involved. And we'll likely see RB Kenneth Gainwell activated for Week 12 after he was a healthy scratch last week.

Eagles RB Miles Sanders (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Saints. It’ll be his 1st action since Week 7. RB Kenneth Gainwell is a healthy scratch for Philly, leaving Jordan Howard and Boston Scott alongside Sanders in the backfield. We’re expecting all 3 guys to be involved today. Sanders should lead the committee but is just a RB3 or flex play vs. New Orleans’ top-ranked RB defense.

Eagles RB Miles Sanders (ankle) is set to be activated from IR and return for Sunday's game vs. New Orleans, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Sanders has been out since Week 7. We'll see which of Philly's other RBs -- Jordan Howard, Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell -- are active tomorrow. HC Nick Sirianni said earlier this week that Sanders remains his starter but that other guys will mix in depending on packages and game situations. Sanders is the best Week 11 fantasy bet in the Eagles backfield, but he's just a RB3 or flex vs. the Saints' top-ranked RB defense.

Eagles RB Miles Sanders (ankle) has been designated to return from IR and will practice on Wednesday. Insider Eliot Shorr-Parks believes there's a "good chance" that Sanders returns for this weekend's game vs. the Saints. We'll see exactly how backfield work is divvied between Sanders, Jordan Howard, Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell. It's a situation to try to avoid in Week 11 against the league's top-ranked RB defense.

Eagles RB Jordan Howard was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday and is expected to play vs. the Lions today. Howard reportedly got some 1st-team work in practice this week and figures to mix in on early downs and potentially short-yardage situations. Howard isn't a fantasy option but could be a drain on RBs Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott.

The Eagles are placing RB Miles Sanders on IR for the ankle injury he suffered against the Raiders. That will leave the Philly backfield to Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott for at least the next 3 games. RB Jordan Howard appears likely to be elevated from the practice squad as well. We'd bet on Gainwell leading the group in fantasy scoring, but don't overrate the opportunity available. Gainwell trailed Scott in carries against Vegas, and the Eagles rank last in the league in RB rushes per game.

Eagles HC Nick Sirianni labeled RB Miles Sanders "week to week" with his ankle injury. Sirianni wouldn't rule Sanders out for Sunday's game vs. the Lions but admitted that he's unlikely to be available for that one. Sanders' absence would leave Philly with RBs Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott and potentially Jordan Howard, who's currently on the practice squad.

The Eagles released RB Jordan Howard. The 26-year-old has been a major disappointment since running for over 1,100 yards in each of his first 2 NFL seasons. Still, the move is a bit surprising since Philadelphia already cut ties with RB Kerryon Johnson. This leaves Miles Sanders, Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell as the only RBs on the roster. Sanders should dominate carries in this backfield, with Scott and Gainwell likely stealing passing-down work.

Eagles insider Rueben Frank expects RB Kenneth Gainwell to play "a lot" this year. He got off to a slow start in camp but has seemingly gotten rolling lately. He had a nice preseason, capped by a 5-32-1 rushing line and 4-27 receiving line in Friday night's finale. We'll see exactly how Gainwell fits in a backfield that also includes Miles Sanders and Boston Scott. The rookie is just a late-round flier in drafts but could be a drain on Sanders' fantasy production.

The Eagles waived RB Kerryon Johnson. The former Lion recently suffered a knee injury that's believed to be a sprain. For now, Philly will move forward with Boston Scott, Kenneth Gainwell and Jordan Howard behind Miles Sanders.

Multiple reports from the Eagles beat have had RB Boston Scott catching the ball well -- specifically in reps with QB Jalen Hurts. Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia writes that Scott has "looked very smooth as a receiver out of the backfield" and that he has been getting more 1st-team reps than any other Eagles RB besides Miles Sanders. The pass-catching talk is particularly noteworthy because it has accompanied multiple reports of Sanders continuing to drop passes. And rookie Kenneth Gainwell arrives with receiving ability as 1 of his strengths. For now, though, it sounds like Scott is on a path to be Philly's #2 RB. We wouldn't invest too heavily in any Eagles RB right now and aren't ready to plant a flag with Scott over Gainwell. But it'll be a situation to monitor as we see usage in the preseason games.
