Showdown Tips: Buccaneers-Patriots
Did you hear about what’s going on in Foxboro tonight?
Some old QB is leading the league’s top-scoring offense on the road to face a rookie QB for some team that ranks just 27th in points, 24th in yards.
Tom Brady’s crew is the obvious fantasy centerpiece here. But there are upside options for New England, especially given the CB injuries the Buccaneers are dealing with.
And no, I don’t care at all about Brady vs. Bill Belichick.
I care about the values …
DraftKings
None of us really knows how things will go with the Patriots’ backfield in the wake of James White’s season-ending injury. Brandon Bolden and J.J. Taylor each present big upside from their low prices on DK, though.
Ronald Jones’ low cost on the other side gives him a little intrigue as well, but he has yet to top 6 carries in a game this season and has 1 catch through 3 games. So I’d rather build without him. Giovani Bernard’s absence can only help Leonard Fournette’s receiving upside.
The CB injuries I mentioned above: Tampa Bay will at least miss Sean Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean. Carlton Davis is questionable. If he sits, the Bucs would be missing their top 3 corners. They plan to start Richard Sherman, who just signed with the team 4 days ago. The whole situation helps Jakobi Meyers, Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne
FanDuel
Fournette pops even more on FanDuel, which is notable given that their loose pricing tends to just leave the QBs up top. Otherwise, the names leading this table aren’t particularly surprising.
