Eagles TE Dallas Goedert “remains a name to watch on the trade market,” per insider Jordan Schultz. Per Schultz, “interested teams believe Philadelphia would be open to future picks if they don’t receive 2025 draft capital.” Goedert is currently set to make over $14 million in the final year of a four-year contract.
Here's GM Howie Roseman, via NBC Sports Philadelphia, when asked about Goedert and the Eagles' draft plans.
“The way we look at the draft is it's a separate entity to anything else that's going on. We've got to make good decisions in the draft based on who the players are that are available in the draft. We can't make up any positions and make them better than they're not. We have to really have a true process.
"So, it really doesn't affect us. We try to do as much as we can at any position in free agency to try to make sure that we're not in a position where there are needs. Of course, we're not a perfect team and there's always going to be areas that we're looking to improve, and honestly, that's going to happen even the day after the draft. We're going to continue to have areas that when we look at our depth chart, we'll go, 'Man, it would be great to add a player here.' The player acquisition period is a huge part of it, but it's certainly not the end.”
Goedert’s 2024 production improved in the postseason. But he wasn’t a difference-making fantasy TE, finishing as a top 10 PPR option in only 3 of ten games.
His underlying numbers told a more encouraging story. His 2.18 yards per route run, 12.1 yards per catch, and 6.6 yards after catch per reception each topped career averages. He was held back -- in part -- by Philly's run-heavy ways.
Durability also remained a major issue. Goedert missed more games, this time with knee and hamstring injuries. He’s suited up for 14 or fewer games in three straight seasons.
We’ll see what the trade market turns up. In a nice landing spot, he could certainly retain spot-start TE1 value.
