Ravens Get DeAndre Hopkins for Light Money

DeAndre Hopkins Headshot

The Ravens are signing WR DeAndre Hopkins to a one-year, $6 million deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Hopkins remains a big name, but that salary is notable.

This same offseason has seen Tutu Atwell and Dyami Brown get $10 million on a one-year deal. It's also slightly less than the annual average on Rashod Bateman's current contract.

And it makes sense. Hopkins averaged just 3.5 receptions per game between his time with the Titans and Chiefs last year. That's his lowest average since his 2013 rookie campaign. His 38.1 receiving yards per game set a new career low.

And he turns 33 this June.

Hopkins' jump-ball ability alone makes him an interesting addition to Baltimore's high-powered offense. And his willingness to take limited money so early in the offseason suggests he's ready to accept a limited role.

Bet on Hopkins running third among Ravens WRs this year -- perhaps trading off target shares with Bateman.

That likely won't mean many targets in one of the league's most run-happy offenses.

Other Winners & Losers

Bateman's at least a slight loser here. He ranked just 59th among WRs in target share last season (adjusted for games played) and managed just 2.6 receptions per game.

TE Isaiah Likely might be in a little trouble, too, if Baltimore keeps Mark Andrews through the offseason. There are only so many spots on the field.

Lamar Jackson can only be a winner. Even a late-career version of Hopkins adds some receiving talent. And Baltimore's move to get him might signal at least a bit more passing in the 2025 plan.
