Wow.
The rookie started slow, with only 1 catch in the first quarter.
From there, he proceeded to dominate the Chiefs secondary alongside a stunningly-effective Aidan O'Connell. Per Next Gen Stats, Bowers generated 35 yards over expectation. He also caught both of his deep targets for 62 yards and a score. That one came on a beautifully thrown downfield ball from 33 yards out.
O’Connell certainly looked 100% coming off a fractured throwing thumb. We can expect some ups and downs from the second-year QB, but Bowers remains well-established as a top-end TE1 going forward. Next up is a meeting with the Bucs.
