NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle "became sick upon arriving" at the stadium for tonight's game and is now questionable.
Pelissero: "Dalvin Cook, who was elevated from the practice squad Saturday, suddenly could be in line for a big load tonight against the 49ers."
Dowdle already sat well into RB3 territory in our rankings in a bad situation for production. Dallas enters this game as clear underdogs.
Cook presents another challenge. The Cowboys gave him first-team reps during the week and seemed to be ready to work him into the run game.
Even if Dowdle's active, he's likely headed for more limited playing time than if he were healthy. Try to avoid using him in fantasy lineups if you can.
Cook already looked interesting for DFS showdown lineups given reports about him looking good in recent practices and his activation from the practice squad.
Dowdle's illness makes him even more attractive. And Cook appears set to overtake Ezekiel Elliott, who has garnered no recent discussion.
